OINK shut down after police raid

This is one case that isn't BS. They were dropping albums before they were even released.

As greedy and evil as I think record companies are, taking music before it's even RELEASED is pretty bad.

Fuck, I just got invited to OINK, you don't even know how much music you had never heard of was up on there, there is no comparable torrent website. I sure hope the users aren't in any legal trouble, because if so, even though I've only dowloaded something like 300MB from there, I sure hope I don't get fucked over.

It's honestly a travesty. OiNK was the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. I got approx. 60gig from it, and I wasn't even going all out. No other site can deserves to lick the dirt of of OiNK's muddy feet. RIP.

Yeah, I linked to it in a earlier post too.

That's why sometimes I post things in NSG that should be in Media & Arts. It's more active, somehow.

I agree, however, the cut that middle men take is redic, they are dying in the new technological age and are doing needless shit to keep their jobs. Yes, its important that piracy is reduced since artists need money, but no, a CD should not cost $25.

I agree. CD prices are very overpriced.

More bands need to step to the plate and do what Radiohead did. Cut out the middleman so that people getting the music are giving the money to the source, not some suit.

Agreed. More bands need to take on alternative methods to releasing their albums, except they need to a do a better job than Radiohead did.

Considering the hype and craze, and it being the first time it was ever done, I think the Radiohead thing went fairly well. Obviously not flawless, but they guinea pigged it.

FUCK, OiNK was the shit, i used it for all the stuff i couldnt find anywhere else. and my ratio was soo good. damnit

shit my room mate was so in to that site and he prolly dosent even know yet, since our isp told him that he had accumulated 270gb transfer already this month and that there was no package availlible to accomodate his needs. he hasnt had the internet since the weekend lol

Holy shit.

Mind you, I've downloaded like 41 gb since last thursday. Although about half of it was on comcast, half on shaw

get blue ocean internet, it is the fatest, at somthing like 3 or 4 gig /second while comcasy is like 256 or 512 mb

Never heard of it, and I don't think it's available in Canada anyways.

I'm happy with my Shaw cable, it run at 1 mbps at times (it's cable) so I'm good.

...you realize that 4gig/sec is impossible. That's like downloading an entire DVD's worth of content in two seconds. I think you mean 3 to 4 MB/s
