Here's the deal; I'm from Cincinnati, OH, and i usually cross the border into Indiana to ski at Perfect North. Great slopes. I was just wonderin if any midwest skiers knew any where good in Ohio, preferably South Western, that had some sick slopes.... anybody?
 
Perfect North is the illest you'll find. The next best would be Mad River but it's a couple hours north.
 
I'm not sure how far this is from you but I used to live in cleveland. Try boston mills. I heard they had a few 55 footers back in march
 
i ski pns llike 5 times a week and im from cinci and ive been to mad river. mad river has a better park but a shitty park scene.......mostly snowboarders too
 
ive never been to perfect north, but mad river stepped it up a lot last year with capital park. I highly recommend mad river
 
dude, i live in cincinnati too and also ski at PNS. if you want some good slopes, do what i do, and go up to 7 springs in shitsburgh, PA for a long weekend. it's well worth it. better slopes and super sick parks
 
i go to bmbw but thats only because its 15 minutes away from me and at bw the park is normally pretty dope but bm set up a pretty good one about end season and they built a 60 footer on north bowl
 
ok i feel im pretty knowledgeable on this since i am, or have been a season pass holder to every ohio hill besides bmbw.

PNS is where i started skiing park in high school. the skiing talent there is amazing, far surpasses anywhere else in ohio. the features are always awesome because the park crew is very good at what they do. unfortunatly managemnt wont give them any room to work with, otherwise the park would be unmatched by anywhere else in the MW. i still buy a pass there so that i can ski there about 20 times when home on break. and PFC is the illest

Capital Park at Mad river (bellefontaine) is amazing. Last year was the first year of capital park when they got a new park manager from their sister resort big boulder. last year there was a solild 4 jump line for most of the season besides the last couple weeks since the turned the bottom hit into a sick cannon box. The park is full of jibs, too many for me to bother counting but rest assured that ull find any type of rail/box that ur looking for, plus u can get about 7-8 hits in each run. the skiing scene there is still developing but all the skiers there are super nice so if u come visit u could find people to ride with

Snowtrails (mansfield), from what i am told, used to have the sickest scene in the MW. unfortunatly not so much anymore. its where i did most of my skiing 2 seasons ago, but last season i had passes to ST and MRM and only used my ST pass like 5 times bc of how sick MRM is. ST's big air is worth going to, the jump has been fun the past two seasons. unfortunatly they always tear down the jump immediatly after. the park is average, but i got bored of it by the end 2 seasons ago bc they barely change it at all throughout the season once its all the way set up

BMBW (cleveland/akron area) Ive been there for weekend trips 3-4 times over the years. BM is worthless but BW has a pretty fun park. good variety of rails, and some fun medium-large jumps. hardly any skiers compared to snowboarders, i did a comp there this past year and there were only like 7 skiers and 2 of us werent even from bmbw
 
Hey BMBW is my home resort. I am a ski instructor there and I ski the park as much as I can. Boston Mills usually has a better park than Brandywine at the beginning of the season usually in the December months. This year they had a down double barrel a down box a tire jib and a flat box during the december months. Once Brandywine opened up though they did with a bang. This year they had a two jump line one 25-30 foot jump and one 35-40 foot jump. They also had a packed rail garden, a nice progression park, and later in the season they had the redbull rustbelt feature which was a giant cannon built out of an old ski lift. Boston Mills later stepped it up in the season with a 40 foot jump open to the public, a better terrain park with more jibs including a c-rail, and they had a 50 foot big air jump but that was only open for the big air contests and not for the public. I hope that answers your questions about boston mills, and to clear everything up there were no 60 foot or 75 foot jumps at BMBW the biggest jump they had was the 50 foot stepdown jump Boston Mills made for the Kilted Yak Big Air Contest and The hope on the Slope Big Air.
 
as a matter of fact u are wrong the north bowl jump was a 60 footer then they tuned it down to a 50 footer and the big air was a 55 footer
 
I dont think so the Big Air jump might of been 55 cuz tht was huge and scary as hell, but b4 the comp I remeber the guy saying 50 ft to the knuckle. And the northbowl jump was 40 feet according to their website. I know they mellowed it down after a bunch of ppl got hurt on the wall of the lip but I heard they just mellowed down the lip not the jump itself
 
OH-IO represent! Originally from Cleveland, Ohio but moved out to Aspen after college because "Ohio's finest" just didnt do it for me. If you predominately ride park, then Ohio will suit you well, but

Not to jack your thread, and I have posted this before I know but I thought I'd throw it out there, but I am going to UDayton next year and am debating where to get a pass (between PNS and Mad River). I think I like Mad River more, but if there are any Dayton locals that go to the school or live in Dayton my decision could be very influenced.

one 50er that was super poppy and step down. the other was only about 40. ill have an edit of bmbw up soon, but other than those jumps they never have anything too significant. they do the best they can thats for sure
 
i love this perfect north against the world feud. its been going on for so long i expect not less of everyone. but yes i agree your jumps are the best in the MW. also PFC is the best event in the MW maybe even the east coast.
