Ohio Dreams, finally visited the place, OH MY GOD

ok. i am good friends with the guys in charge of this place, and finally got a chance this weekend to go check everything out. only two words can describe the facilities:

HOLY SHIT.

its unbelievable, and FAR surpasses anything i was expecting to see. first off, its in the middle of butt-fucking nowhere, which is a good thing for a place like this. when you get there, its a long drive past some good old fashion Ohio corn fields, and you see the massive hangar and outdoor skatepark. the outdoor park is about 90% finished, and is straight outta the Xgames, gargantuin, theres sooo much to ride, its sick.

to the left, is a HUGE hanger, which is all brand new and will feature all sorts of crazy shit as well, including foam pits and things of that nature. theres alot of features built, but its not really layed out yet.

back in the woods thou, my god. i have never seen such an impressive jump trail. for all you cats that bike, this right here is worth more than the weeklong admission fee. it snakes back in forth down a gradual hill, with all sorts of huge hits, hips, banks, etc. all the jumps are super nice, with good landings, its a work of art. ive never seen such an intricate network of features.

behind the hanger, theres a very large hill, partially man made, about 80-100 ft high. its all set up and grated out for the jumps, which are being built this week. the pool is all empty, and is fully airated, and DEEP. might wanna consider some leashes for the sticks if you dont wanna swim down for um. lets just say this about them. you will have no issues going absolutely huge. the ramps are also being switched to a new material, not snowflex. its a bit more expensive, but its faster, allows for better edgehold, and if you fall on it, its not gonna kill you like snowflex will.

theres still some more that will be built, but for the most part, the place is very close to completion, and if you were considering MAYBE going, do it. theres soooo much to do there, and it will blow every single ramping facility in the continent out of the water (ive been to all of them). think woodward+world class water ramps. jea!!

oh yea, click the link and chek it, theres pics on the page, which really dont do it any justice. the jumps are huge (theres lots of smaller ones too, its not just all pro level sized jumps)

Sounds sick, too bad i am broke.

You didn't happen to take any pictures did you?

(I saw the ones on their website, but they didn't have any of the water ramps/construction)

no i wasnt able too. i brought my camera, but i left my memory card in the computer. ill take some pics next time im up there tho.

So I emailed them a week or two back and got a daily schedule of what you do. for the main activity you sign up for you only get 2 hours of it in the morning. and then you have lunch. then 3 hours to try other activities it said.. now would i be forced to try something differant or could i keep water ramping the 3 hour sesh because the 3 hour one said "secondary" activities and water ramping would be my "primary" one.

well, i cant answer that, but i will say this, most camps like this have the schedule and plan they follow, but are very laid back about how you spend your time there. after all, you are the one spending the $, they are working for you. if you want to spend most of your time ramping, i doubt it would be an issue.

and, also, after seeing the other facilities, if you dont do any of those other activities, its the perfect place to learn, theres so much awesome shit there, itd be a shame to just utilize 1 area of it.

Yeah I skate too so I would want to hit up the skate park a bit too, but I would mostly be going there for the ramping.

okay so everything is pretty much finished up. both indoor and outdoor skate parks are gigantic. foam pit is the coolest thing ever. i learned backflips on a mountain bike in like four minutes. the bmx dirt jumps are absolutely mind boggling. about a million different lines with jumps varying from beginner roller doubles to jumps you shouldn't hit unless your last name is mirra. when the guys were testing out the jumps they were going bigger than any pro dirt event i've ever seen. and now for the money maker, the water ramp... this thing is a beast of epic proportions. the pool is gigantic and twelve feet deep. there are three different jumps. all park style take offs, not aerials like every other water ramping facility. the smallest jump is probably four feet tall and pretty mellow, the biggest jump is seven feel tall and pretty poppy, and the middle jump is somewhere between the other two in height and angle. from the big takeoff, it shoots you about forty feet into the middle of the pool, where you land on some bubblers. the jump has been tested and it works great.

this coming weekend, july 13.14.15 will be open house. come bring your skateboard, inline skates, or bmx/mtn bikes (helmet required) and shred around and check this place out. friday, open house will run from noon to six. saturday and sunday open house will be ten to six.

oh, and a little fyi, in addition to camp sessions, you will be able purchase day passes for an, as of yet, undisclosed sum of money. so don't write this place off if you don't want to spend a week there. more info at www.ohiodreams.com

like i said before, words cannot do this place justice. come see for yourself. it's absolutely amazing.

basically, but from what he says its a bigger, better setup. and i think only 1 of the woodwards has wakeboarding and i dont think it has waterskiing at all. it might be the same one but one has a snowboard camp, but you ride down like a big ass net and you jump on a tramp with a harness on, no water ramps at any of them

because that's where the people who came up with the camp live. why is woodward in the middle of pennsylvania? same reason. seriously, if you live anywhere within like a ten hour drive, come check this place out. you'll be glad you did. there will be a teaser video and a bunch of pictures up soon.

such a sick place but not at all liek woodward. its liek a mini woodward. if any of u have beenthere ud knwo this. i went to woodward for 2 summers and it was amasing. most fun iv had in my life. if ur really in to skating u should go there.

the water ramps will probably not be open for everyone. there will definitely be a demo session though. it's totally worth it to come check out the facilities and at least skate and ride your bike. you won't believe your eyes.

Ok... I just got back too and Mark is absolutely right. It's soooooo sick. The skateparks alone are the sickest i've ever seen. One outdoor, one indoor. And the foam pit is way fun for your lil wheelie boards, fruit boots or bicycles. The water ramps are amazing as well. Three different kickers, dope pool, fun vibe. The dirt jumps..... WOW. best I've ever seen. Now that they offer day passes there's no reason for everyone within like 7 hours to not come down. Peep the video on the site.
