Ohio Dreams is one of the sickest camps out there, but in it's second year it is not as well known as many of the other, larger camps. But that does not mean it is not as good, in fact far from it. They have the worlds only water ramps designed specifically for newschool along with world-class quality indoor and outdoor skateparks with a foampit and and dirt trails for BMX as well. One week at Ohio Dreams is $750 which while it is still a chunk of money, it is far less than other camps that are comparable to what Ohio Dreams offers. I have been to both Momentum and Woodward and while both are sick, I can honestly say that I got more bang for my buck at Ohio Dreams than either of the others. I have slso hit the water ramps in Placid and park City and I can honestly say that the ones at Ohio Dreams are better and you will get a lot more hits. Also Sammy C and Pete O both ramped there last year and were seriously stoked on the place and Wallisch, Hornbeck, and Rich Fahey also did some skiing and skating there. Austin Ramaley will be one of the coaches there this year and numerous other pros and up-and-coming ams are sure to stop by as well.

Normally I would not make a thread like this because I feel people can do their own research and make decisions for themselves. But these are not normal circumstances. Ohio Dreams was started from scratch last year by two guys who have a tremendous love for skiing and action sports and both made a tremendous investment in order to build the camp. They have put a ton of work and money into this place, and this is a very crucial year for them. If they do not get enough campers over the course of the summer, about 400 to be safe, it is likely that the bank will no longer honor their loan and they will be forced to go out of business. I guarantee that if you go to a session at Ohio Dreams you will be blown away by the quality of the camp, the number of friends you make, how much better you become at your sport(s), and just how much damn fun you have. I know I sure was when I went there for 2 weeks last summer. I find it hard to believe that this community that cares so much about skiing and action sports cannot find 400 people, skiers or otherwise, to go support a core, upstart company that needs your help in order to keep going. So go talk to your parents and find a way to get signed up and tell anyone and everyone you can to do the same.

This was all supposed to go with the video when I first made the thread but I experienced some technical difficulties.

Camp looks so fun, but I am 18 and I guess the last 2 sessions are the only ones allowed for 18+? Is it possible to attend any other sessions?

i dunno, probably. you would need to call them about that. I know when I last talked to Chris Ashcraft (the owner) he said they were trying to put all of the skiers together in a few sessions.

don't get me wrong, snow camps are sick and a ton of fun. i also think that snow camps have their place alongside ohio dreams in some sense and they compliment each other. but they are also 3 times as expensive. i personally think you have the potential to learn as many or more tricks by sessioning good water ramps for a week as you do going to a dope on snow camp. especially when it comes to learning larger more tech tricks off jumps. you can hike the ramps at ohio dreams as much as you want between say 8 or 8:30 in the morning and 9 at night. there are very little lines too so you can probably get 50-60 hits in one day. do that for 6 days in a row and that is a whole lot of jumps. plus because it is water and far lower consequence you have far more potential to learn scary and inverted tricks easier, without as much fear of getting hurt. you can learn a ton at snow camps but if you are trying to really learn new stuff, i think that there is more potential for improvement in a shorter period of time on water ramps. if you want to go to a snow camp then go, but if you would rather save some dough and still learn a ton then go to OD. I am just trying to get the word out because a lot of people don't know about it and it is def a legit option when it comes to camps.

How hard is it to use the water ramps if I snowboard? I heard from some skiiers that snowboarders usually have a very hard time. Let me know man. Also, do you know if there are day sessions this year?

If your pretty good at snowboarding (not necessarally tricks) you should be alright and they have had guys there that kill it. That being said there was a kid who tried and couldn't do anything, but he was pret bad and had just started snowboarding.

Does any1 know 100% if they still are allowing day pases in the summer. Ive heard answers from def no, from yes everyday, to only on saturday...

Yeah I'm a pretty solid snowboarder, I just heard from people that snowboarders were falling before the jump more times before they got to even hit it.

What's the deal with day passes this year? I also heard a rumor of them setting up rails, that would be sooooo amazing.

last year they had day passes for the ramps only on saturdays. as for this year i don't know, but i have not heard anything from a reliable source that says no they are not. i will try to find out for sure soon though and i will let people know.

I just checked there website, it says u can use day passes on sunday for ski ramps. and m-f for skating. Also if they get rails that is amazing, i only live 1.5 hours away from that place id def buy a season pass.

Yea the DNA evolution tour is going to have a tour stop at ohio dreams which is for sure. and there has also been talk of having one of the setups from a past DNA tour be there permanently, though I don't know if that is for sure yet.

i went ot high north for twice what ohio dreams is

you get to chill in whistler, which is the shit, you get great water ramping and tramps and you could go skateboarding

alot of water ramping < skiing a great park and water ramping

their trying to stop day passes so that they will get kids to buy into the camp instead of them just showing up for a day. their main goal is to make it a camp not just a day thing. and yeah it would be tuff to chose water over snow but at O.D. its not just about skiing its about skating biking and blading at one of the top training facilities.

not gonna lie dude i think you convinced me haha... especially since i now see that have mtn biking too! sick!!!

that would be perfect for me. im now struggling to save for a session to windells but this has mnt biking? i could work on my inlineing? try sick stuff on water ramps? and do it all for a third the price of windells? haha i will look into this...

Please pass this on to whoever is in charge.

OD seriously needs to keep the day passes.. I didnt go last year but I know all of my friends did and they said it was sick. I am broke, we all are and I would much rather just spend $30 a day or something for a couple weekends then go to a camp. I know it makes more sense business wise to go to just camps but I mean if it was camp only there is no way I would go. Sorry but its the truth, I just dont have the money. But if you guys kept the day passes I might show up one weekend and decide this place is sick and come for a camp. I really think it should be open on the weekends for day passes.

Another reason why it should be open for passes is because im sure there are plenty of kids like me who only do one of those sports.. I dont ride BMX or skate I only ski so going to camp I would get charged for other things I wouldn't be using. If I just used a day pass I would only be skiing and would come back again and again

Camp only = $0 out of me

Camp and day passes = $150 ish.

ya its an amazing camp, and also rigth now, since not that many people are signing up, its a two for on deal. Sign up for one week and get one free. Yes, you can the the water ramps switch

ya we were telling ashcraft this but he makes no money at all out of weekends and day passes so he had to do sessions only. bummer

... would anyone know when they would plan on doing away with the day pass, i would really like to go there while i am still able to, a whole week off of work is not an option

they are still offering them at this point.

they are thinking of getting rid of the day passes during the weeks of camps so the campers arnt bugged by little billy jensen on a razor

they've got one of the best water ramps in the game. Its one of the only water ramps not designed for arials, its a truely freestyle ramp. Pool/bubble system is legit, and place won't break the bank too hard.

ya there really is are two chances to go without being a camper being the dna rail jam on the 24..and the big air..dont know the date tho

they need to keep the day passes for sure... even if it's just weekends. i'm 22... i'm not going to spend a week at camp- i need to work a full-time job to make money- but i would certainly come down for a weekend or two to session the ramps. they would be wise to keep the day passes.

If day passes are gone.. its 99% sure I will never see Ohio dreams..

sorry for the shitty comment but its the truth..

please let us broke working folk come more than 2 times this summer!

They sure as hell better keep the day passes. I want to hit the ramps 2 or 3 times this summer. There is no way i'm paying for a whole week of camp just to do that.

it'd be cool if ashcraft would take 2 or 3 days out of the summer to let people who can't save enough bank for a camp to get out there and at least try it out....i'm seriosuly thinking about doing a camp tho to help a brother out

i totally agree. i live in northern michigan and theres no way im gonna be able to get 8-9 days off of work this summer. but if you kept the day passes people could deff just come down for the weekend and hit it all up. like i said getting 8 days off of work just isnt gonna happen otherwise id do a session

Ohio Dreams is a sick place. A group of us went up last summer and it's a killer time. The ramps are great, and the skate setup is really good too. I didn't get a chance to check out any of the dirt stuff but I can only assume it's as good of quality as the rest of the place. On top of all that it's owned by a guy who has been involved in the industry for a long time and truly has a love for skiing. This place deserves to get your support.

stupid ramps arent even open to the public . if anyone has any input at ohio dreams, say somethhing and mesg me. million people from ontario goto quebec city for ramps . ohio is closer but we dont need STUPIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD coaching. just acccesss yo!
