Oh, you like supercross?

Anyone tuned into the SPEED channel at the moment? Ryan Villipoto just crashed in the FIRST turn of the Supercross Main event in Seattle, appearing to grab too much front brake and lock his wheel up, causing him to (what looked like) get knocked in teh nads. The doctors are currently checking his left (maybe right, i'm too high to remember) knee for injuries, as he was limping dramatically across the track to receive aid and was favoring said knee.
my question to you is:
Did he really crash, or did he fake it? Villipoto is an absolute prodigy in the motocross/supercross world, and he took care of his heat race as if it were just business as usual.
Maybe Monster Energy (sponsors of the event(s)) paid him to take himself out so that some other rider could shine?
I used to race when I was younger, I know how easily it is to get hurt from simple crashes. But Villipoto didn't even try to come back or attempt to pick up his bike, knowing good and well he was the favorite to win the race.
wish I had footage, but I don't; +k to whoever can find a vid of it

I feel like motocross NEEDS a big name guy, so having Villipoto take a fall isn't something they'd want. I'll admit that I know nothing about motocross, but for a sport that almost never gets prime-time coverage (besides x-games), they'd probably like to have one guy dominate the whole sport like Shaun White in half-pipe. It would most likely get the sport more publicity.

Well drama makes headline as well. But likely what you said. I just wish Stewart would stop crashing... Bubba has deemed to have lost it.

Ryan Dungey used to be their guy, he looked like he was on track to be the next Carmichael. But then Villipoto came along and starting stealing his glory. Although, Dungey didn't end up winning the race, so I don't know.

the more I think about it, the less this all this seems likely haha

This is the most ridiculous thread ever. Why would Monster ask their rider, RV2, to crash out of a race that he has a very good chance of winning, and promoting their product on the podium? I would agree that the crash didnt look bad at all, but I highly doubt that it was a conspiracy? Also, i dont think anyone would have called Short or Sipes for the win.

From the video it looks like he takes the handle bars to the nutsack. Dont know about you guy but I'd stop racing for the rest day after a hard nut shot.
