yeah no karma points because i just signed up... wanted ppl to know what is REALLY going on. its the right thing to do. not trying to bash anyone... just stating the FACTS. Tim is a god guy, but his a business man and had lost track of his old dream... fun and progression of the snow sports. He's getting older and want to retire. In my opinion his doing it wrong and hurting and burning alot of briges in his path.

this is all rumor bullshit. There is a real story and legitimate reasons but you obvious know dont them.

The park guy that was there last year and in years past is gone, but yes he is a roided out crazy guy.
 
yeah, had to leave quick so i couldn't finish my respone - just saying that you should probably talked it through with your friend before posting here and giving windell's a bad rep which may or may not be justified - i think it sucks that you lost your job and all but it seems like one conversation caused you to create this thread and you should make sure that he certainly got fired and banned for no reason - without adequate proof i don't really have reason to believe what you are saying, even though it could be completely true - just come up with some more legit facts and i'll believe it
 
I don't. They made the paying campers ride the public park. WTF....they paid for a private park! It seems pretty sketch. I'd fucking bitch the owner out.
 
that has nothing to do with the fact of how good their park will be. they got 3ft of snow in JUNE. im guessing the reason they had no park for sesh 1 is their park is so big it is taking time to finish. and yes i agree with you, its complete bullshit to have no park for a session. thats just wrong to do to the campers. but still, i bet the park will be good

i know u and doubt u remember me. but u are the guy that backdoor travis. and I wouldnt talk about roided out... cause u were way bigger then mike was. and mike was one of my best boss's yet. u are just using tims power to help launch ur clothing. so be honest... U EVEN SAID THE PARKS WERE THE BEST LAST YEAR!!!

His job is to keep ppl out f the park that arent supposed to be there... so yeah he can be a asshole. thats his job to be one. if u were in his shoes what would u do? try kicking out 100+ppl perday and see how nice u are.

that's why there's an entirely new ski coaching staff hired this year....

and there is way more to this story, some people made some mistakes and this did indeed result in their being fired. but there is a lot of shit being talked on Windells in this thread that is both exagerated and coming from a source that doesn't know what's up. Windells is the funnest place on earth, and i am currently loving my job, and i'm working very closely with my campers! as all the coaches are. so don't say shit when you don't know shit!
 
yeah, he's on all the time. watches a lot of videos all the time from top rated. message him.

So why do people pick windells over the other camps that have lifts. Isn't windells hike only?

But I know fora fact that most of the the long term guys and my boss / our group got screwed/back doored/ whatever U want to call it. So unless ur TIM or one of the OG's that were there then ur the one that doesnt KNOW>
 
im guessing because of all the snow there will be lift? not sure who knows. but i pick windells because for one, there is an entire campus of fun things to do. while at whistler you are on your own. (my parents wouldn't ever let me go out around whistler alone). i also pick windells because of all of the pros coaching there. all of my friends who go there. oh and girls haha. if i was allowed to go to whistler i might go jsut because of the park thats it
 
I'm not going to say so if there windells ppl on here i dont want my freinds fired that are currently working there. but i was a digger last year and was coming back this year. know mike and the dig crew from last year and got to know of the other staff this last summer and knew some from back in the day.
 
it is my first year working here, however i've skied in windells every summer for the last 3 years. but i guess i don't know too much bout the employment history.... sorry
 
there is alot to do there for sure off hill and did have a great on hill... we"ll see what they do this year?? but i could see why no whistler... drinking age. parents dont want that and theres a bigger odd'd of that happening there. dont get me wrong windells is a good cam... it was just better in the past. My issue and others is the way the owner is treating his staff. thats it....

yea it seems like hes more snowboarder oriented since he was a pro. but well see who knows hopefully they will have a good park
 
no worries.... It's just interesting gossip while the rest of us are sweating our balls or mammaries off at home. I do remembering thinking to myself a couple months ago....... "damn windells hooked up a lot of kids this year"

So I wonder........ With new coaches and such.. Did Windells just thin the weeds? IN other words, you know the park staff at your home mountain who is on staff every year but doesn't do shit with a rake or shovel? You know like.... Get rid of the fat and lazy and bring in some young and hungry eager snow lovers?
 
yeah he is... thats why tommy, travis,sammy and all the other ski coaches were stoked on mike casue he understands the needs and like of skiers. ( he builds parks for a living year round and was one of the head coaches before running the parks) Now its all boarders on the crew this year... and all the MAIN ski coaches left.

The problem is. They fired a bunch of young filmers from the eastcoast who spent their own money to go to Oregon the week they got out there for absolutely no reason (so I hear).
 
well thats why they brought mike and his crew in last year casue the old crew wasnt puuliing wieght. they hadnt touched features that could have been up out in like 5-6 years. we put ou ever feature windells owns. like 20 rails/boxes plus all the snow features. our crew worked our ass's off and it showed... not like other resorts lazy crews that sit around.

Tims pockets... and not the hungry eager worker. they get to work there ass's of for about $3hr and live in a mold infested old ass motel. oh yeah with 3 other ppl in a hotel room.

So what happened to the people that had to ski the public park? Did they get some kind of rebate or something? That's some amateur hour right there.

no we didn't get anything, i'm hoping we might get some sort of discount for next year or something, but i hiiiiiiighly doubt that.
 
well it's safe to say that i made a smart decision not to go to windells this summer because i thought 2gs wasn't worth like 4 or 5 days of skiing when i can have backyard session for free
 
well I'm already signed up and i would have loved to go to monmentum or coc but between airfare and camp prices windells is it for me. It sucks to hear about this shit but camp can be what you make it. If you have a positive attitude and go to ski i think it would be sick regardless. If not i'm really nervous right now. Session 3 haha
 
Even though ive heard about some lame things pertaining to windells, i love the fact that kids will drop major coin (or have their parents do it) to spend like a week skiing, and they have to hike the fucking park, stay ~40 min away from the mountain at the arc (BOB is nice but shheeeeit), and yea, unless you're one of the unfortunate to ski only the public park, which in my opinion is the gayest shit ever
 
There are some missing facts to this story. As I understand it, the video crew works for Eric, who is under contract with Tim. They aren't Windells employees per se. Also, it was my understanding that Eric was supposed to provide the video for free to every camper this season. If it is in fact true that Eric was selling videos, that would be a violation of his agreement... and if it couldn't be resolved, I can understand why Tim would not want to work with Eric... which would mean all of Eric's employees would be out of a job.

42 days is alot of work to put in though
 
that's fucked up, if you or your parents paid by credit card you might consider disputing the charges. I feel way worse for the kids who paid for camp and got screwed. You guys bitching about working at a ski camp for free all summer should just consider yourselves lucky, or stupid.
