Im looking into getting a nice little DSLR to start my amateur filming/photography career.

I have around $400 to start off, all i want to start is a camera and a lense. I will put a lot more money into it as i progress and get more money.

I have a gopro and have used other cameras here and there, nothing that really stands out though.

I have a canon 80-200mm lense that my friend traded me for my calc book last year other than that nothing.

I would like to shoot everything. Skiing, other sports, artsy nature shit, weddings, everything.

I would like to do most of the filming but i would like it if i could get the camera set up and tell them what to do.

I would like to do everything in skiing, so follow cams and tripod etc...

I have a lenovo with core i5, 6 GB RAM, 750 GB hard drive, 1 TB external memory, and i have Adobe Premiere CS6 that i would say i am a strong beginner but i am getting better everyday at it.

I was looking into getting either a Nikon 3100, Nikon 5100, or a T2i. All of these i found in my price range on amazon and i do not know which one would be best.

Thank you NS

t2i for sure. You've got the lense, and the t2i will give you all the control you need to film the artsy stuff.

I would make your next investment in a form of stabilization. Don't go cheap in this area if your focus is video, make sure you do research and get a quality product. It's important to make sure the shots you get are smooth. Jumpy shots from handshake or riding with the camera leave a really unpleasant effect on footage (and it may not look bad on the 3.5in LCD, but when you take it to a computer, you'll notice everything).

Thanks for all the input +k to all.

I was leaning towards the t2i because i already have the extra glass but i just wanted to make sure that the d3100 or the d5100 wasnt like a way better camera.
