OFWGKTA: R KELLY RELEASES NEW ALBUM GOBLIN

meh. I see it differently, but to each his own. I've studied the industry, seen the influences, where in the genre the money goes, where hip hop went after the late 80s, early 90s...I have rapper friends who have been in the game since them days and they shit on wu tang all the time...not in the hating sense but just jokingly. Real recognize real but fanboys don't recognize truth...

the truth in what? that the wu is a innovator and that just because a lot of people like them doesnt mean they should be hated on.. and to your friends that shit on them.. i feel sorry they dont respect elders or talent and i dare any of them to say it to wu tang clans face because they aint nuthing to fuck with.

I specifically said they joked about em. Not hated. You are so ready to jump and defend "the wu" (lol) that you take my words and place negative connotations on an objective statement. Musicians generally respect each others music, even in the rap game despite people's perception of it. I respect the wu tang clan. I love their music. I just don't think they revolutionized rap...they have their own style, but all rappers have their own style unless they cop someone else's.

These friends of mine, who I resort to for musical advice, are YOUR elders and of the same era of "the wu." They also like the wu-tang clan, but they produced for other record labels and supported other musicians, or themselves, at the time. They are in their late 30s and early 40s. They saw hip hop grow up and were a part of it.

I'm not gonna hijack this thread. Think for yourself, and think what you like. I can't change your subjective opinion of whether or not you 'like' a groups music, but I can bring a perspective on their influence on hip hop sound.

In any case, as far as Odd Future goes, their sound is really young still and they have a bit to work on in terms of production and lyricism (in some cases), but again...they're young and they're going to mature. The hip hop game is gonna change, we saw mac miller, macklemore, and now we see odd future blowing up...I'm loving it. totally different styles, all bringing something new-ish. werd.

I wasn't being literal when I put the >implying. Just my attempt at a joke since I categorized a large group of people.

I love Wu. Queens Gambit FTW

to each his own... whether or not you like the wu... you cant deny that the had an effect on the game.. and im not trying to defend the wu... i just dont like ignorant assholes that just state that they hate something because a lot of people like it. You seem to know a lot about the industry so i respect that.

As for OF i too think there are not there yet lyrically... although if the song yonkers is foreshadowing what tyler is gonna do in the future... OF has bigg potential... other than tyler, earl, and sometimes mellowhype, im just not seeing the talent tho. Bastard was wayyy better than Goblin too.

Your last few posts were money. +k for that

I think revolutionized is an over exaggeration but there genre of rap is very original, I can't say the creator because I don't know.

Odd Future is so much more than music. That is what is so innovative about them. To prove my statement I will let Christian Clancy talk about them.

"I've studied the industry" lol "I have rapper friends" lol "they shit on wu tang all the time" lol

dude you sound like the biggest joke ever

And on a side note, first listen I didn't really like the album, that song with Frank Ocean is horrible and I couldn't get into that Trannsylvania one either and the whole "fuck school" "bitch suck a dick" didn't really grab my attention either, but a lot of the albums grown on me and I'm feeling the thing as a whole. Yonkers could definitely be song of the year, the one they did on Kimmel was pretty good, oh Goblin fuck yea, that song is amazing.

What I like about the album is that its not pop music in any way, songs are long, not too many choruses/hooks, and its just so dark and difficult to listen to it'll never get radio play. Its not inviting at all, I bet most people aren't bumping it on repeat. At least he didn't pull a wiz or lupe and go mainstream and try to garnish more fans.

What I love about this album is how kids on this board listen to it and are like "yea fuck school, bitch suck my dick, etc." Its cool how so many kids relate to Tyler (whose clearly just your average teenager whose not afraid to talk about jerking off and the violent/rape stuf he thinks about). But whats cool is he tells everyone its all a front in the beginning and continues to keep on this mask of a murder/pyschopath/villain throughout the album. I like how some people see him as a kid whose just trying to figure himself out and other people are like fuck yea this guys the man and just like the music because of the style, but for me its cool to just hear about this kids life and thoughts.

oh yea and how funny is it when at the end of the album you find out the pyschologist is tyler, like lol

Tron Cat no doubt best song. I thought the album was sick but its no doubt missing the presence of Earl. Sick non the less but cant wait for EARL.

FREE EARL. Fuck Bill O Reilly

Starve her 'til I carve her then I shove her in the Rover, where I cut her like a barber with a Parkinson's disorder.

Bastard had the same therapist concept, not really a twist. And I'm pretty sure they sang Sandwiches on Jimmy Kimmel, not Goblin.

How so? It bothers you that they're stoked on music? It doesn't effect you at all, just live and let live.

I'm not sure if you're agreeing with me or saying I'm an example of a fanboy. And I'm not trolling, I just don't see how other peoples taste in music(and how excited/stoked they are about it) bothers you.
