I am not raggin' on the skiing, i am complaining about the techy stuff like camera angles and editing. other movies have better rails and still manage to have bc jumps and big mtn as well.

Now I know some of you may have your opinions about whether an all park skiing movie is legit, shut the fuck up. Denali's orginal post was about camera work not skiing. yay for swithin_dirty and denali, fuck the rest of you.

i give the film props fer sure. the skiing was amazing and the cinematography was actually very good. I enjoy justin's movies a lot, all the PC kids can hold it down without a doubt, and i thought the premier was dope as hell, let the haters do the hating, cuz the skiers and the filmmakers prove themselves in my eyes for sure

umm i havent seen it but i dont even have to to join in this kind of an argument.

Skiing all park and rails is stupid, its like aerial skiing, not true skiing you just have to be able to take off and land, the rest is done on the tramp. But it doesnt matter as long as the people can ski a decent diamond trail or something, cause park is still really fun (which is pretty important i think).

Summary: you people are all fucking stupid if you like rails and park then buy it and if you dont, then dont. yay!

it was cool the first twenty minutes but then every segment had the same feature in it so it go kinda old fast. the music sucked but it wasnt a bad four dollars.

First and foremost, Justin's movie is filmed very nicely,....the av equipement at the U must have messed with the white balance, it did make it look bad. I have a DVD of the movie and his filming is Excellent. Scott USA gives props to Justin and all skiers involved with First Light, nice work!

ah shit, the PC KRUE doesn't dominate anything. I have yet to see this flick, but I'm coming to realize that everyone who skis at Park city thinks they are the dopest just because they ride there. It sounds like they are just another company funded by someones parents who buys all the 'best' equipment and films their 'homies'. If it was even halfway decent, i'm sure Denali wouldn't have been so pissed. I take his word for it because im not going to pay 20 bux for it, since it's not touring in my neck of the woods.

Park riding is dope, but in order to make a good flick, you need to travel and film at other resorts, such as Mammoth, Breck, whis, other places than PC. That is my opinion on ski vids.

by the way, does Dylhole have a seg because he is sick on his skis. Fucker stomps everything.

Look, all this bull shit shit talking is stupid. why doesn't everybody grow up a little bit. the first post talked shit on MY filming and what not, which was denaliis opinion. period. I really apriciate all the suport from everybody and i thank all of you. denalli is intitled to his opinion, as is everybody else.

you see the problem with this site is that people on here don't allow for an educated conversation or critique. i know that denalli hates on park riding, and that is fine. granted some of the things that EVERYBODY is saying is just flat out wrong. do you all feel like it is right to talk shit on people who you don't even know?? sure some kids like park and some like big mountain. i personaly can't ski park. i just suck, but i love to charge gnar lines at the bird. sure there was a lot of park in this film, but when I have to graduate rom college, travel to events, enjoy life, and still try and make a film to make everybody happy, it just can't happen on a budget that i have. ie my student loans. this film was made by putting myself in debt, and i am going to continue making films in order to progress filmmaking to a point that everybody from the super grom in the park to people with denallis views can walk away from it saying that was the sickest film ever.

Everybody has to start someplace and this is where Off Trail Productions has started. in the future when i actualy have a budget to go helli skiing and am able to purchase a sled then i will. (hopefully this year) but untill then i am going to make the best film that i can make with the resorces that i have.

again thank you to all who have good and bad things to say, and keep them coming, but why doesn't everybody try and be mature and say something about the film and not make yourselves look like little kids who only know how to talk shit on those who are different than you

park skiing is alot easier then big mountain, and its more skiing, you actually ski, not just take of a jump and land. its alot easier to throw a 3 off a talbe then it is a cliff, especially if its untracked...

you know i would have to agree. ^ it is much harder for me to ski at snowbird or alta than it is pc. However it is tought in the park to have style, skills, and the balls to hit the huge jumps, but i do feel that it is importannt to ride the entire mountain. they are two different asspects of skiing, and like i said they are each hard in their own way, and some like one more than the other. why don't we all just leave it at that and say something about First Light the movie and not park vs big mtn. the argument is old and will never be solved.

I'm sure the movie is fun to watch, what did you use to edit it? Apple, Final cut Pro?? You should def use these if your not. I'm just curious.

You should def try and premiere your vid up here, i'm sure you could do it at the U of MT in Missoula, (where i live) They have screen setups that will just play dvd's in a couple lecture hall where premieres have been before. I can look into it if you want and try to organize it. There is one ski shop,

He's just saying thats real skiing because thats where skiing started more or less. Skiing park only is similar to aerials because what counts is what you are doing in the air not what you are doing on the ground with your skis like big moutain. And dont get me wrong I like a balance of all the aspects of skiing in movies I watch. I dont like it to soley focus on one or the other. But I relate more to riding big mountain because thats what I would rather do with my time. If this kid made that film out of money he got from student loans he did an incredible job it just wasnt my kind of flick personally. It was a great representation of park city because thats the kind of riding they have there so thats what they'll do.

Why would you even say that, you are contributing to more shit talking than anyone. youre using the term big mountain pretty loosely. Sure a pro park skier can ski down a run of powder...thats not big mountain though. Put simon dumont, olenick, any of the offtrail guys, me, tj schiller...any of them on a peak in alaska that morrison kreitler or nobis is about to ski and we will all prompltly shit our pants.

Both sporst take a tremendous amount of hardwork and effort to excell at...and anyone who knocks the other probably isnt ever going to be a good skier at either discipline.
