well the skiing is better than last year i think, hard to tell, i couldnt get past the bad camera work. the angles weren't good and alot of the shots were over exposed so you just saw a skier going across a bunch of white. learn to use your fuckin cameras! next learn to use music in a movie properly, you choose a song and then edit the section to it instead of just throwing in music that doesnt work to the section like you did. Brandon Becker really should be filming with a company of higher quality.

Offtrail? where was the offtrail, should be

Park city goons. and the amount of little kids who dress like little jib monkey goons was ridiculous at the movie premier. my guess is more than half of those kids cant really ski they just fall around in the air and look stupid by grinding rails. Get in touch with skiing's roots, Go watch a Greg Stump ski film

Dont Buy this movie!

save it for something better like buying Theory 3'movie Breathe and Stop, they have pure skiing no bullshit

I didn't think it was that bad but not really my style either. I like more BC big mountain shit but they are on a limited budget since they are relativley new. But yeah the people at the show were all laughable. When someone would throw a switch cork 232090 no one would care but as soon as someone would slide some shitty rail the crowd would cheer.

Denalli, your an ass hole, i have a copy and those shots that looked like just floating over white look really good on a normal TV. Justin knows what he is doing and that definantly is one of the most progressive movies i've seen to date, the music is awesome, great variety and definantly the sections are edited to the music with care. basically because you are stuck in your comfort zone of where skiing was 10-15 years ago doesn't make this not one of the best low budget films ever made. definantly a must buy and if you buy this movie i promise its not a let down

Ohh yeah one more thing the worst part of the movie was the girl that rips. You could have easily left that out I'm still trying to piece my ego back together.

low budget maybe, but alta backcountyr or brighton are not very far away to film some real skiing, no excuse

the skiing was not off the hook, 2/3rds of those kids in that movie sucked. it was the same jumps, same park, same BC booters. needed more big mountain and more skilled skiers. more brandon, more symms, more wilson, and more brent. all the other kids were nothing special...just lame ass park monkeys who can grind a rail. I'm sure most of those kids couldn't last two hours at alta...

this wasn't a big mountain film, there is a lot of bc kickers from alta, brighton, ect. and some cliffs, which is a lot more entertaining to watch than if they just showed them make a few turns

I think they are hitting on the fact that she should hit more BC kickers, drop more cliffs, ski more tech lines into cool natural terrain type deal. Not asking for just turns. I can't say whether or not if shes hit any or enough of those, because I haven't seen the film though. I don't think Ice/Denali/Switchin are saying they want to see her make plain old turns.

i thought First Light was sick, the skiers in it all had sick park skills, if u queers went to that show expecting to see big mountain skiing, something is definately wrong with u...

i want to see it too, the footage in the trailer was sickter...the editing was not necessarily up my alley, but that doesn't mean its not good.

there is nothing wrong with disliking a movie, but to say it is bad just because it is not your taste isn't very fair.

Well Denalii and the rest of you who didn't like my non bigmountain film, i am sorry. it isn't a big mountain film. that is that. as for the whited out shots, i do know what i am doing...the screen just whited out everything. i was pissed about that, but there is nother much i could have done about that. unfortunatly not every movie is for everybody, and the 300 + people that were at the premiere seem to like it. i guess youo didn't, ant that is fine. and i do thank you for you opinion... everyone is intiteled to it and that is what is great about this site. i am sorry that you felt that you wasted your $4. if you want we can go up to alta this season and i will give you your $4 dollars back as we rip up the pow.

i just hope that the rest of the people on this site realize who this review is coming from and make up there mind after taking in everybodys opinion. are there any others????

the $4 it costs to 'make' the dvd discs has no reflection on what it actually costs to make a movie. if i was trying to cover all my expenses from Wicked with only the selling price of the movie it would be like $100 per copy.

i'm still really lookin forward to seeing first light, the skiing in the trailer was dope!

As for the premier I was going to go but got strep, so I think IO might buy it because I heard it was really sick and it's supporting a little company.

it's a hell of a lot easier to sit back on newschoolers.com and talk shit than it is to spend your entire winter busting your ass getting good footage and putting the thing together into a real film. but no worries, this goes out to justin @ off trail: look at the people who are talking shit! who and where are they?? not in any ski movies! it's pathetic, they bag on everything from skis to the damn U of U skiers club, never anything positive - and judging by their profile and so called photography skills i have a hunch they are a bit jealous. i thought it sick and everyone in the audience was stoked. props to off trail and everyone in it.

man it's a park movie why did you bother on bashing it because it's not a bc movie?? if you wanted that just go to see the yearbook premiere...where there is bc in the teaser there was no bc or anything don't be surprise that there were not....just don't be stupid and think a little bit...it's every1 tastes

ill still check it out..cause the amount of work it takes, even for someone like FARP (not saying that in a bad way) warrants a little consideration for the time and effort that goes into these...nobody likes everything, its just inevetible

but u should check out their flick, our stuff, Theory-3's flick, Super, and Wicked...i mean were all skiers, so lets watch skiing
