Hey guys, It would be greatly appreciated if you could go and check out a start up ski company me and a few friends are creating. Its definitely in the early stages (only 5 pairs made so far), but were on our way. Helpful criticism would be great, but keep in mind our stage in the process. We plan on being semi-custom (custom topsheet, core type, flex, along with some other components). We need as much recognition and criticism as possible!

Check out our facebook page!!!!

Plus k for likes on the page!

Thanks a lot, and let us know what you think!

looks cool. I would suggest better logo on the back of the first skis you made. It just kind of looks like scribbles.

Your name reminds me too much of construction staking at work. That's probably not a very common problem among the ski community though.

The skis look pretty cool though, hard to say much without actually riding a pair haha. Props for getting into making skis, that's a shitload of work!

Thanks guys!!!! we will definitely make the logo/name on the skis cleaner and more eye catching. As far as the name, I think were going to keep it but understand where your coming from, just kinda late considering how far we are along.

I wasn't very serious anyways haha, that wouldn't be a dealbreaker by any means.

And in response to gapersarefriends, our tech is pretty typical at this point, as of now were using a full poplar core, oak or ptex sidewalls, a layer of fiberglass and/or layer of hemp composite, 1.3 mm edge, and 4001 p-tex base material. With more money will come burlier, better components.

We have also really been looking into doing natural composites such as hemp or flax as opposed to fiberglass. They have great dampening properties and it would be cool to make a mostly natural ski. Plus who doesn't want weed in their ski?

Sorry for not including pictures, we didn't because we wanted you guys to check out the Facebook page, not just look at the skis. And disregard the weed in the skis thing haha

And as we said earlier, this isn't for promotion but rather to get your honest opinion on the skis we are making. We are just starting out and see the newschoolers community as a great source of feedback on what we are doing. And ya, the weed thing was a joke but using hemp as a topsheet/ composite isn't.

theres not really any information on the facebook page, so why don't you tell us something? or were we supposed to go to the facebook page to get your email address to email you questions or critiques?

^^ Not sure were at that point yet... free stickers though! And I just went though and added all the dimensions to our finished and un-finished skis.

Came here because I thought some kid mounted his bindings offset from each other and I wanted a good laugh. I didn't get this, but I wasn't disappointed. Keep up the good work dude!

ok well let me know when you can hook it up, i need some park skis this season,

Thats one point we wanted to we wanted to check on. We really like the look of wood sidewalls and they add great edge control, but the thing is that people tend to see them as lower quality than p-tex. From my experience and many other ski builders on the skibuilders.com forum, wood sidewalls are extremely durable and low care. What are your opinions, wood or p-tex sidewall? We make both though.

Looks cool. I saw the pic of the new mold, does it work well like that? I buiklt mine a similar way, but then a topped with very thin sheet metal, and then I use a sheet of tyvek on it each time i press so that the epoxy doesn't stick to the mold

Email us with any questions/feedback/concerns or anything else at Offsetskis@gmail.com!!!! We are working on adding more information to the facebook page along with a website coming soon.

We are putting one or 2 layers of masonite in the mold, and then laying the ski up in a metal cassette. We use wax paper to keep everything from sticking which works super well.

Looks dope. Keep doin what you're doin if you wanna succeed. Everybody loves a new indie brand. Good luck with business and all that!

No we are not selling skis yet. We are selling discounted skis to friends and family until we feel confident enough in the quality. We have 4 more pairs almost finished, and many more to come after that.
