I found the overall best impression scoring to be a terrible way to do halfpipe. I don't think Ayumu would've had any trouble wiping the floor if it were normal one run scoring, obviously it wasn't and it went another way, but I'd still argue he could've taken the W even with falling on two runs. Best impression just doesn't seem to be a good fit for halfpipe imo

To be fair, its based on one run, not all their runs, im pretty sure. Scotty had an insane run that certainly deserved to win, I dont think Ayumu got 2nd because he fell, he got 2nd because the best run he landed was 2nd best.

Yeup, they also clearly explained earlier that SB halfpipe judging changed years ago because of Danny Davis to put more weight on variety rather than just how many times you can spin. Ayumu spun the same way on all the left wall hits and Scotty was just more tech.
