Really hope wiley wins, that edit was amazing.

Also Pep Fujas' first line was fucking insane with that switch cliff drop at the end.
 
Pretty amazing how close the scores are. Edit de Pettit is going to be tough to beat.

Loved Pep's zero off the cliff. That shit was steep. If that had been me, my nuts would have been so far up into my throat, I'd have to treat my tonsils for jock itch.
 
I just realized that all the shit we're voting for is only for the fan favorite... The whole contest is judged and the medal standings will be decided by judges only.

Aha I know. So crazy. Right off the X-Games site:

"Eight of the world's best backcountry freestyle skiers have submitted 90-second video parts for a shot at X Games gold. Medals will be awarded by a panel of X Games judges, but the Fan Favorite will be decided by YOU! Cast your vote today."

I feel like the judges will place T-Hall with a gold, Sammy with a silver, and Wiley with a bronze. Something totally weird like that...
 
most people probably didnt, it's been the same for all the real snow/street/whatever video events... fan favourite gets a certain amount of money, judges pick the winner
 
pretty sure everyone here watched the videos. Who would vote without watching the videos AND come on to NS to talk about it after? That's crazy talk.
 
Sammy and Sean killed it, two best for sure. I voted Tanner over Wiley cause he had those crazy pillows. Wiley's was sick, but he only hit jumps.
 
T def gets my vote over Wiley, i just really enjoyed both, but the skiing and pillows in tanners really is what made me throw him my vote. even tho in all honesty Wiley had better tricks, smoother landings etc, but like i said it was the actual ripping of very steep pillow lines that got my vote for T. def one of the harder match-ups in my opinion. good luck to all them tho! enjoyed every seggy for sures.

real backcountry shouldnt have made made feature in it.. sure the landing is natural but the jump has the same amount of man made time into it as a park jump with a cat driver...

i'd like to see more tricks of natural wind drifts, cliff drops, and more REAL MOUNTAIN features. None of this hand shape perfectly manicured jumps and run ins.

 
Well I guess it's a good thing that there are many skiers out there pushing different aspects of the sport and that an X-Games video contest doesn't properly represent the current state of what everyone with a pair of skis is doing.

That logic you used is overused and a straight up stupid way to state an opinion that no one cares about. It's an X-Games video contest, not a "who can hit the coolest natural features" contest. You don't like what you see? Well then, fuck off.
 
This, Both segments were sick, but Wiley didn't make any pow turns in his edit. I respect Tanners for being so much more well rounded. Also I respect the fact that Tanner is not spamming the interwebs with these little "Vote for Wiley" facebook things with Saga offering to give away free shit to people who vote. Tanner has just been posting links straight up saying to vote for whoever you like best. Not that I don't think it is good for Saga to support their rider, I just think it should be based on the riding, instead it seems that Tanner took an early lead in the voting and then Wiley's fans/sponsors starting panicing and posting the #Vote4Wiley shit everywhere you look. I have not seen any of the other riders doing this other then him either.
 
Sick, we got a Sammy Sean bracket and a Chris Wiley bracket. Just like I voted. Now the hard part...

I'm probably voting for Sammy and Wiley.
 
seriously this. as sick as sammy's edit was, it was mostly the same stuff we see in park edits every day... just with pow landings. Even the few shots of pillow skiing were him basically jumping over everything. Granted all that shit is terribly difficult, but Sean's had way more natural airs, cliffs, mixed in with some jump bangers. Plus that nose butter 5... off a cliff... in a line... come on now.
