Official X Games Real Ski Backcountry

After watching them all a few times. I think its pretty clear Sean Petit had the best segment by a mile.

Voted for Wiley, P-White, Petit, and Benchetler!
So much talent in these videos.
I really do think Wiley killed it though. P White had sick flow and Petit is a boss as always.

I agree with this 100%...pretty much exactly my take on the entries. Except, I am alright with Tanner winning straight up because he skied some lines and crushed/straight lined some pillows whereas, if memory serves, Wiley's edit was basically booter after booter, but I could be mistaken.

I love watching PWhite ski, but Sammy's edit was fucking crazy.

One thing that occurred to me though: I wasn't as impressed with the edits that were basically just shot after shot of BC booters with stepped out and side slipped take offs. I sort of wish the entries were a little more line, pow, and turn oriented, and less bc booters featuring park spinnyflippies. That's why I feel like Sammy and Pettit's entries were miles ahead because they had some huge tricks, but they also fucking SLAYED turns.

In my mind, this contest is IDEAL for Candide. You could take any of the segments of new footy from Few Words and he would've walked away with this contest. I really, really, hope he enters next year, because this contest is made for him and it would bring it full-circle.

yeah dude, its in Les Arcs france, DOPE sidecountry. and he has used i better than iv ever seen. such a sick edit, pretty miuch the whole thing is from les arcs. very impressive. i thought it was a banger, so HARD between sammy and P

wtf.. you say you want real skiing but parker only did 1 single turn in the whole edit... Then you bash others for having a park edit.. Aside from Parker's single turn to a natural 3 and some butter fun, the entirety of his edit was man made jumps.

Sammy vs sean fir the finals hands down. No one else even compares. Did anyone else notice they hit the same pillow line? Maybe I'm wrong, but I think they did. Pwhites first two hits were way cool then it went to pretty boring resort jumps. Tanner is still the king of pillows, it's tough between him and willey. Bentchetler beats pep, first hit was nuts and the feel of his edit was great.

this competition really came out well. everyone put alot into it and ESPN did a pretty good job displaying the match ups. Only thing that could be weird is how many times you have seen the videos by the time the 'final round' comes up. There isn't anything new going to come out of it, all the excitement other than who advances is front loaded.

It would be cool to have a competition like this where teams submit 3 different 1 minute edits so as the riders advance new material comes out.

that would be sick and sooo damn strategic. youd have to put enough bangers to get you through the first two but same some for the finals. that would be nuts.

and actually really tight for the guys that didn't make it to the finals, because then they could still use their footage that didn't get blown up for their regular film companies.

Sammy

Sean Petit

Pep, not counting Benchetlers 300 yard 5, pep's was just gnarlier.

First I said tanner, just because his style is so much better, but I gotta go with Wiley, he killed it.

Sammy, Petit, Pep, Wiley

Though really this just a great showing of our sport. I wonder if TGR's CoLab $100,000 prize will garner this sort of talent. Hope so!

After watching all the edits numerous times over the last two days Wiley's is getting more impressive each time, Cab 9 tail @ 1:27 looks like first hit as well. Still can't compete with Sammy's and Sean's. Sammy's was mind blowing, Sean was a close second.

Dane Tudor, (my favourite skier out of the group) was really looking forward to his, sucks that he got injured, It was still good but could have been unreal and a threat for the win. hopefully he doesn't turn into a sledhead.

Loved seeing Pep hit BC booters again. Blunt 5 was so smooth.

Sick seeing Tanner ripping again. Wish he would control his landings a bit more though. Wiley's performance was definitely better. Tanners line on that tree and Wiley hitting the face of that rock were both killer shots

This is going to be interesting...

Voted for:Sammy: Not near the style of Pwhite but he fucking sent it and his style in those pillows was pretty sick. Those pillows gave me goosebumps too.

Benchetler: Better style than Pep, very pleasant to watch, and that 5 he tried was fucking HUGE.

Petit: Insane, good style, and it gave me goosebumps. Dane was obviously disadvantaged because he got hurt.

Wiley: If he doesn't win against Tanner its really fucked up. Loved the style, tricks, and creativity.

It will be either Sammy or Wiley vs. Petit and Petit will win.

Tanner was almost the only one who decided to show some turns, not only BC kickers. Got my vote for that. Plus, he is the master of REAL SKIING!!!!!!!!

This is actually a completely incorrect statement. I guess you didn't actually watch all the videos.

As someone hinted earlier, Sammy and Sean do use the same pillow zone in each of their edits. Looking into future rounds, I'll likely vote Sammy, over Petit. After watching the vids again, Sammy just went a bit harder. Petit had both side cork sevs, but wasn't as tech and Sammy actually had better pillows.

were beyond stoked on wileys segment and all the support were seeing for him online. now if we could just get that to translate into a lead haha. win or loss his segment is incredible for the short time it was filmed in.

Tanners was such a let down and I hope pettit beats sammy just because this is a backcountry contest, not a who can hit the most jumps and do the most dubs contest.

Personally I think PWhite's edit was the sickest. I love Tanner and Wiley but overall I just like the vibe of PWhite's. BTW, did he throw a triple at the end? I'm almost fucking sure that Parker's ender was a triple.

ummmm guys, wiley 49% tanner 51%. We all love you tanner, but Wiley beat you out, hopefully the votes will reflect it. On another note. Bentchetler and fujas are still tied at 50%

Now that ive seen the videos a few times, i think ESPN should have done a better job with selecting the matches. Tanner and Wiley are very different skiers. Sammy and Pwhite is pretty good. Dane def isnt getting enough recognition. Pettit is sick, but they are two completely different skiers. To avoid people being bias about who has the bigger name in the industry, i think Dane vs. Wiley, and Tanner vs. Pettit would have been a better match up. Other 2 are perfect.
