and adriano just now did what the italian dude did last night and he got a yellow card for diving... should have passed it. eh well, brazil is dominating, me likes.
 
Ghana is actually doing really well. Brazil is controlling the game but not by much. This is a great game so far, the ghanase could score at any moment as coudl the brazilians.

Too bad adriano decided to dive, could have been 2:0, good call by the ref.

I will sya this though, watching the ghanase roll around on the ground keeps telling that if you were to fight a war, don't get the football players :P

That one was sooooo iffy... there could have been 2 offsides in that play, but none were called. Not a frank goal at all.
 
No way should that have been a goal. Adriano was offsides all the way down the field. I mean he started the play in an offsides position. How did the AR not catch that one? Ghana got screwed.
 
no, its not the players fault

the offsides was very close. if the camera angle was bettter you could tell but its not quite lined up.

and ghana has been playing impressive soccer, i cant believe they havent scored yet.

He was close to offsides, but he was still in. Classic case of the defense playing the offside and getting owned.
 
yea, their job is extremely hard. but they are supposed to be the best in the world. they are the elite of the elite refs and they should be doing a better job of it.

i am a ref also and i do find it annoying when spectators think they know more, but if they have instant replay it probably means that they are right.

and i will assume that you are not a world class referee and so you are not held to as high a standard as the refs in the world cup. so when you make a mistake it is much different when the world cup refs make a mistake because there is so much riding on the calls.

and officiating, fair to both sides? that is only a dream. because as was evident in many games throughout this tournament, some refs are undoubtedly biased toward one team or another. i mean they take precautions to try and make it fair, but they can't always make the refs completely unbiased.
 
Now, if i try to say this ill get flamed, especially with the 3-0 win. But here it goes. Why is every commentator on Brazil's dick all the time? God, they won but any team could have pulled that off. Ronaldinho isn't doing aerial acrobatics like he could for Barcelona because the level of play is higher. My prediction, brazil loses its next game against spain or france im not sure who.
 
spain is going to win for sure. and brazil will lose against spain, definately... brazil have dissapointed this world cup. sure they have scored goals, but they have not played their usual creative play.

i would have liked to see ghana win, just cause of the upset it would have created....
 
I have found myself disspointed by ronaldihno's performace, becaus ei havemn't really seen many games of his. He has not shown to make much of a difference throughout a game like say Zidane does consistently.

It could be because of the level of play, or it's because they are just disorganized.

I don't think that Spain will take Brazil easily, as the brazilains have a HUGE margin to improve their play. But they won't necessarily win, either.
 
alright so spain just scored, but i dont think the foul was so huge that villa got that free kick
 
i honestly think this is because of all the bullshit that FIFA has mandated be called. i too am a soccer referee and when i took the class they stressed these six words, "in the opinion of the referee." if you look throughout the law book you will find these words all over and i think FIFA has killed the game by mandating what gets called. in my eyes they have ruined the flow of the game and it must go back to the referees having more of a say. they are the only ones interacting with the players and the only ones who can read the intent and sense the flow. when you have almost 300 yellow cards and break a record for ejections and the tournament still had about 11 games to go when that happened, you know something is wrong!

Haha. France advances. I was so nervous after Spain scored that first goal. But then France came back. This is a unique game, cause it was a good game and the officiating wasn't bad.
 
Wow... how the Hell does France beat Spain? Ah that made me angry. Maybe France just feels like playing when it counts possibly?
 
Ughhhhhhhh I LOVE SPAIN. Why must they always lose? I am so sad. Raul really played like shit this whole tourney, Fernando Torres is pretty good though, and there are many young Spaniards that are very talented, so the future is bright. There were some questionable calls, but overall the reffing wasn't that bad. Spain had one possible PK that was missed, but I'm not too mad, France got lucky.
 
I concur....I had this gut feeling that that first pk goal would come around to bite Spain, oh weel. I had high hopes. Also, I thought that was the best reffed game in a while.
 
ALLEZ LES BLEUS, ALLEZ LES BLEUS ALlEEEEEZ!!!!!!! Fuck yes! I honestly supported France to the max but I thought spain would give them a really hard time, and it would be extremely hard to win. But hoyl shit, I am STOKED! My prediction for France-Brazil: 3-0, just like back in 98 bitches.
