i cant believe that netherlands guy didnt have the class to give the ball to back to portugal on the drop ball

things are kinda sketch for portugal in the quarters tho (no deco, possibly no ronaldo)
 
holy shit. . . . that had to be one of the dirtiest games i have ever seen. with what 16 cards? seems like that ref isn't going to be asked back. but pretty stoked that portugal won. to bad all those cards carry over.
 
that was poor but deco had the gayest reaction to it. Sure giving the ball is the classy thing to do but it's not forced. At the same time it was sorta of the portuguese player's fault for getting himself injured, I sorta thought he was faking it.

Im realllllly hoping Figo will get a red, what a douche, he should have been bitch slaped.
 
yea, i was so pissed when he didn't give the ball back. and then when portugal took him out and the portugese player was checking on him. that dutch fool came in and took him out. jeez, such an intense game.
 
Exactly, it's his fault that the whole thing turned into a mestival. He was very unprofessional and in no way should have been allowed to ref a game at this level....defenitely should be banished to some amateur siberian league

no way. but i'm not really sure that you can draw any conclusions like that from today's game. it's really hard to find the skill when the play is marred by diving, cheap shots, and bad sportsmanship.
 
wow that game was hardcore. 12 cards given out, the ref had so much going on he couldnt even pay attention. i dont understand, it only made me angry when the portugal guy headbutted some holland guy, and nothing happened. wow brutal, and yeah england is getting too lucky
 
You mean Ruud? Cuz he just isnt that good, he was benched cuz he had played the last 2 games and had been pretty inexistant. Now why they left Kruit on the field is a completely different question...
 
So we gots Ghana vs Brazil today.

Im hoping for a blowout by Brazil, or complete humiliation by Ghana if they should win. None of this winning because of horrible reffing like against the USA.
 
australia vs italy was the biggest bullshit i have seen in soccer. worst call. you cant call a PK in the last 12 seconds of the game, espicially if its not deserved.

You can, but it needs to be blatant and obvious.

Basically, this is the absolute worst officiating I have ever witnessed in a world cup. Almost every game has had way above average for wrong calls and unecessary cards. I have seen 4 pk's that should not have been called.

The referee in this game was completely wrong. You need to see past the dive. That was an obvious dive because the Australian guy STOPPED and the Italian guy RAN INTO HIM! I am so dissappointed in FIFA for hiring such horrible people for the job. I have seen 2 games that I felt were decent officiating.

This is a fucking pathetic world cup.

he got no ball whatsoever, but the penalty shouldnt have been called b/c of the italian attacker's dive

he could have easily gotten passed the defender and didnt

i guess its just smart soccer in the penalty area
 
dude, of course that tackle was legal, he friggin missed the ball, and the italian player had a whole second (one onethousand) to get around him, but instead played straight into him and dove.

that's not smart football, it's italian playing and bad reffing.
 
Dude your so obviously biased agaisnt Italy just stop posting on the thread, youre embarassing yourself. Italy did control the ENTIRE first half; not once were they in danger. After they went down a man they sat back hoping to catch a counter attack. Personnaly I think Lippi was retarded to pull Toni out, he was positioning himself great all match, he just needs to get his scoring touch. And while Iaquinta ended up being the worst use of a sub ever, Gilardino was being useless.

Now about you people who were saying Italy were diving, jog on and find another argument. This was possibly one of the few matches Italy want just falling at every corner(at the exception of Totti doing it once in the center of the field). And that was in fact a penalty. I agree from the first angle, I thought the ref was on crack; but from the back it clearly showed the australian player kicking his leg as he was lying on the ground. Its a crappy way to end a game, but it was a clear penalty and easy to give. It's a shame, Grosso had a beautiful run, I wish he would have scored on his own.
