the italian guy deserved the card. it was a cheap shot. Our red card was just a late tackle and should have been a yellow card at most. The ref is just covering his ass, so it can be penetrated after the game by his italian boyfriend.

this game blows. Italian players have always been pansies in my book and they are proving it once again, grow some balls FUCK! The ref is stupid, that second red card for the US was not deserved at all. And the goal should have counted. I'm for the US on this one, because those cocky italian bitches piss me off...back to the game
 
yeh the guy above me has it right...your ignorant and dont know what ur talking about....u wanna talk about goals? after italy made th sub in the 2nd half...they said it was offside...but wasnt...a glorious strike and goal done by italy...so no WE deserve teh goal
 
america did not deserve that point...or that match...it was italy who scored americas only goal in the world cup...if anyone thinks that america deserved it...your mentally retarded.

america definately deserved it, playing the second half with 1 man down and holding italy to only 1 goal....

really it doesnt matter it's done, the score is pretty fair, as americans did not score but were disadvantaged by some factors which might have given them an opprotunity, and italy scored their first goal in total fairness and beauty.
 
the ref that was going card happy was unable to work in the 2002 world cup because he was suspended for "irregularities" and i bet hes not gonna be reffing too many games after this. either way this worked out well for the US with Ghana kicking some ass and setting up thursdays game. I think if the US had 11 players on the field they would have scored at least another goal.

that Italy U.S game was absolutley nuts, i cant beleive, with all the fir power Italy has they couldnt score, but it was a nuts game
 
I u point on the red cards for usa he was right. But I think he should have been as hard as he was in the first half.

But was a nice game I enjoyed it.

Today's U.S. Italy game had to be the worst game ever for reffing. Though damn red all game. Basicly ruining the game.
 
Alright all the reffing was justified, first off Italy did deserve that red, so did the U.S- you cannot tackle with booth feet up, allowing the spikes to hit the other opponent, plus he directly hit him in the ankles. U.S's second red the guy slid tackled him from behind, and that was intentional, so oviestly its a red. Stop bitching america, your lucky we scored on ourself's.

HAHA Give me a fucking break, the first tackle was at most a yellow. The second maybe a strong yellow and a warning, maybe a red your call. But the first was in no way intentional or spikes up.
 
Oh please that is just not true. The only red that was deserved in that game was the one given to Italy. Mastroeni would not have gotten a red card in any pro league with that tackle. Was it a foul that deserved a yellow card? YES. A red card? NO. Why on earth would Eddie Pope intentionaly slide tackled a player from behind just outside the 18 when he is carying a yellow? The ref should have pulled him aside and told him if he did anything like that again he would receive a second yellow.

Italy is the team that got lucky. USA controled the first half expect for that one set piece. We would have gotten at least one and probably two goals in the second half with a 11 vs 10 advantage.
 
so I don't watch international soccer too much, but it's the world cup, so yea I'm watching, and I need someone to tell me somethin about the game.

is it okay to fall down, pretend you broke your leg, get STRETCHERED off the field, and then come back in clearly unharmed 20 seconds later? like, isn't there some rule against that?

but then of course there's that big american dude that took the elbow to the eye like a man.
