Official Weather 2011/2012 Thread

Don't care if it's natural or man made... all I want is for someone to open early enough for me to take a few days off and go ride before we open down here in PA.

Freezing level is all the way down to 1800' in central VT (Killington/Pico specifically).

2-3" down on elevated surfaces at 2500'. Less on warm ground though. Light snow continuing.

I hate when you hint shit like this. I know there is a storm developing out west that is supposed to hit parts of NE on saturday night. Link to forecast model???

umm wtf?

we live in the seacoast region, which meant it was to warm and started raining in the middle of the night instead of snowing more.

November 2011[/b]

1st-3rd. Clearing and colder.

4th-7th. Unsettled. Runners in New York's ING Marathon may need umbrellas.

8th-11th. Pleasant weather.

12th-15th.

Heavy showers and a few thunderstorms, gale-force winds Mid-Atlantic

Coast. Squally across the Northeast, some snow possible in New England.

16th-19th. Windy, cold.

20th-23rd. Unsettled, with some rain and/or wet snow north.

24th-27th.

Fair at first, then turning very unsettled, with squalls; hopefully,

the adverse weather holds off until after the Macy's Thanksgiving

Parade.

28th-30th. Clearing and turning progressively colder.

December 2011[/b]

1st-3rd. Partly cloudy New England; showers Mid-Atlantic States.

4th-7th. Turning colder.

8th-11th.

Heavy snow, with accumulations of 4 to 8 inches upstate New York and

northern New England. Farther south, heavy showery rains and perhaps

thunderstorms.

12th-15th. Cold, with a few showers and flurries.

16th-19th. Unsettled initially, possibly icy, followed by clearing.

20th-23rd. Increasingly cloudy with heavy rains possible, which could lead to widespread flooding.

24th-27th. Rains end, turning fair and colder.

28th-31st. Fair and cold initially, then becoming milder.

Did they seriously publish that? What a joke. And I'm just talking about them calling 4-8 inches a heavy snowfall.

Interesting radar pattern. Lake enhanced moisture hitting the higher elevations and squeezing out some snow. Coming down pretty decent at times here in Killington.

we got a few flurries tonight in central mass. haha nowhere near accumulating but better than high 60s like the rest of the week was

Extremely marginal storm for Northern New England followed by the mercury rising to well above normal afterwards. Looking like mid-50s for this weekend in the lower elevations of VT.

We're basically fucked until the NAO goes negative. It's been strongly positive since August. 50/50 split in the models with some showing it trending negative for the last week of November, while the other half of model runs are holding the positive line.

Just a really, really rough start.

Models tracked a bit further south but it is still volatile and evolving. Warm weather is definitely rolling in right afterwards. It's still an ugly situation for anywhere south of K.
