His recent tweets....

Jeremy Clarkson ‏@JeremyClarkson Jul 13

2 good things about the last lap. It raised a load of cash for a good cause. And I did the motherfucker of all tail slides through Chicago.

Jeremy Clarkson ‏@JeremyClarkson Jul 13

My last ever lap of the Top Gear track is done. Bit sad leaving the place for the final time.

I still follow the BBCs Top Gear Facebook page..just to see what they have plannend, and they posted new pics with the Stig.. Dont like that they can keep the Stig.. Doesnt seem right..

On twitter the 3 idiots are posting pics together and Richard says: 'Rehearsals are going well.'

Did not expect them to be that far..

If anyone missed it, the three of them cant make a car show in England or on English TV for two or three years, but there were rumors that their lawyers found a way. Something with making a show for an American broadcaster and then sell the program to ITV in England (and other countries). Or is it Netflix? We'll see soon I guess..

Perhaps they are working on something already, but they just arrived in Australia for their live show (formerly Top Gear Live) and I'm willing to bet any tweets or references to rehearsals are probably in regards to that.

Also, how long do you think it will be before any of the three are stars in a reasonably priced car on the new Top Gear? I mean Jeremy had a legit lap up on the board in the reasonably priced car, but did James and Richard ever have one? Not that I remember.

Ah that explains a lot..thanks!

I dont think you will see them ever on that show again.. Why would they help them get viewers? Also I wouldnt be surprised if their new contract will let them..

I don't know. Top Gear was kind of their baby (especially Jeremy) and I think they are all pretty good friends with Chris Evans. I don't think it'll happen soon, but I imagine at some point down the road it could. I guess it may depend on what kind of project they get started on (if any at all) and what that looks like.

that will never ever ever happen.

they all left on bad terms.

remember how clarkson punched a producer?

you dont fire someone, and then invite them back.

and do you know anything about clarkson?? he seems like a stubborn guy.

me thinks top gear is done.

and that hopefully clarkson, may, and hamster get their own show on netflix.

some say, he is from the prairies of canaduhh and likes to ski.

and that his last comment, was similar to that, of a dingus.

all i know, is hes called the saskskier.

for someone calling people names for being misinformed and unintelligent, you seem to really be pretty ignorant and misinformed about the whole situation.

did not leave on bad terms, bbc tried to get the three back, and the other two agreed to film a final episode.

apologies have been made by jeremy extensively

jeremy was not fired, he was suspended pending an investigation and the decision was not to fire him, but wether they were going to renew his contract which expired at the end of the season.

stubborn, maybe, but he created what top gear is today, i would be willing to bet he wants that show to flourish despite plans on a new show for the three.

there is already talks of a new show and dealing with the legalities of their non-compete clauses in their contracts and how the three can work around them without having to wait two years before filming a competitor show to top gear.

i dont need some top gear inspired comment.

youre an idiot

what?

i dunno where you got your info, but it couldnt be more fucking wrong..

there was a article published yesterday in the uk dailymail with quotes from jeremy explaining how tightly locked up the bbc offices were because they thought he was going to act out against them. but he left of good terms? if you say so.

he punched a producer in the face. which led to his suspension, which led to him now being renewed, which led to him being sacked. but thats good terms? if you say so.

of course may and hammond filmed a final episode. they had a legally binding contract to do so. you fucking dummy.

of course clarkson publicly apologized. he was in the wrong, and quickly realized there were millions of dollars on the same. you would say sorry too, even if you weren't.

im sure a very wealthy lawyer or publicist told jeremy exactly what to say and what not to say during the investigation.

they didnt renew his contract BECAUSE he punched a producer.

not renewed, fired, sacked, same shit bro.

they had full intentions of renewing his contract until this incident.

that means he was fucking fired.

yes, there is talks of a "new" show. in fact the bbc released the name of the new host.

jeremy will not be on it. and i bet neither will hammond or may.

the bbc didnt renew his contract. which means legally he doesnt have to wait two years.

pending when may and hammonds contracts end, neither do they, if they buy out, or a really big corporation (like netflix) buys them out.

all signs point to a netflix series. wont be called top gear, but will hopefully have all three.

youre a cock end.

i never saw that article, but the BBC stated weeks ago that there was no reason that they could not or would not bring back clarkson, especially since the other parts of the equation that is top gear said they would not produce a show without him. willing to "act out against them?" what you think clarkson was going to become a suicide bomber? what could he possibly do to "act out" against him, oh right, he doesnt work there anymore, its a HUGE broadcasting corporation, in fact, it is the largest in the world. they are in the midst of a legal issue because the three have to work around a non-compete clauses of the three, of course he cant just walk into the bbc. and no, just because his contract was not renewed does not mean that there arent clauses which say he cant immediately go and produce a competing automotive television program in the UK.

you are partly right, him punching oisin tymon was PART of the reason his contract was not renewed, also the tremendous amount of controversy and complaints that clarkson has generated over the years, warranted or not. there was the "eeny meeny miny moe", the "slope" comment, the riots started by some butthurt Argentinean war (or rather spanking) vets, just to name a few of the more recent incidents. people were literally taking any opportunity they could to file formal complaints against the bbc, even if it was inaudible, unaired content, or a genuine, absolute, random coincidence that sparked rioting and death threats. so yes, part of jeremy's contract not being renewed was because he punched a producer, but there is much more to the story, they felt the controversy and negative attention to the bbc outweighed his presence on the number one most watched "factual documentary program" and one of the highest revenue generators in the entire bbc.

no, not renewed, and fired, or a terminated contract are two different things, from both a legal and social standpoint. part of this is why there is contractual issue going on with the production of a new show. his suspension was due to the punching, and an investigation and decision on wether to keep him on top gear or try something new and bring in a new cast of presenters. jeremy was the one who brought oisin for medical attention and reported the incident. punching a producer and fellow employee, regardless of anyone's status or public celebrity is more than reasonable grounds of being dismissed, and is entirely understandable, albiet shitty and unfortunate for jeremy, the bbc, top gear, and its worldwide audience. his actions are of someone who knows they made an error in judgement, as are his apologies and publicly coming to the defence of oisin when he was put on blast as "the reason" top gear had "ended", along with the public statement from the bbc that they did not "fire" or "sack" clarkson but did not renew his contract, and that they were open to bringing him back onto the bbc sounds like pretty good terms considering the events that had unfolded. i would not say that jeremy's contract was going to absolutely, definitely renewed at the end of the season, there had been multiple statements about jeremy's "unprofessional" and complaint generating conduct, this was just the most recent incident, of which understandably could not be excused.

hammond and may left top gear, as did andy willman, the other half to clarkson who helped create top gear as we know it today. they are doing a new show, and it has been long known that the others would not work on a show without clarkson, bbc tried to keep may and hammond, in fact they offered ludicrous amounts of money to entice them to stay with chris evans. there are already bids from different broadcasters and organizations on who will have rights to their new show, yes netflix does sound the most likely, ITV has a promising bid, however depending on how the legal friction plays out, its tough to say, from what i have read it sounds like netflix, or amazon may have the initial rights to the new show, and they will then sell broadcasting rights to broadcasting corporations in britain as a workaround for their contractual obligations to not produce a rival automotive program aired by a competing broadcasting company in britain.

Soo the three blokes just announced that they signed with Amazon Prime..

No name for the show yet..

i am sure they will have a stig of some sorts, but i would assume that the stig falls under the rights of the top gear name and associated content owned by the bbc, so "the stig" will remain with top gear. who knows, maybe theyll just straight get ben collins back.

as far as amazon, im not entirely surprised, if you look at any of the three's posts on fb/twitter about top gear or specific episodes, they all include links to amazon so i am sure top gear has a partnership with amazon to begin with, and amazon obviously wanted to try its hardest (and won) to keep top gear 3.0 partnered with them

New BBC Top Gear tonight. It's about as good as I expected (not very).

It seems like it would have been a good opportunity to change things up a bit and make it their own, but it's pretty much exactly the same (except for the start in a rally cross car, which was kind of cool). They didn't even start a new car lap time board.

Oh well. New cars on TV, so I'll keep watching.

so whats going on with the og crew? didnt they do something with amazon?

Yup. It's called 'The Grand Tour' and it's supposed to come out sometime later in the year.

This. The format is gonna be a little different too. Instead of havong one studio they're gonna set up a massive tent in a new place every week or whatever. Jeremy has been posting updates for the new show on twitter if you want to check there.

I don't think I've seen any positive comments about the new BBC Top Gear. The reaction has been awful. Ha ha.

So far from what I see on the rerun of the new episode is Chris Evans is fucking annoying. I never really liked him ever since I first saw him on tv on the old and good top gear.

Leblanc seems fine

the new show with the 3 boys will destroy

Ya know, it actually wasn't bad with the new presenters. The first episode of anything is always gonna be iffy. I'll continue to watch, for now.

Pissed about the "rally cross" course for the stars though. That is whack. I can think of a million ways they could've improved the test track, and adding a dirt section is not part of any of those ways.

I think the dirt course section is awesome as a rally enthusiast. A lot of people dont know how to handle a car on dirt which is a valuable thing especially in a fwd car like a mini, the handbrake turn and jump are sweet in my opinion.

Im just curious but what would you add instead of a dirt section?

I would just add a couple corners between Chicago and Hammerhead and call it good. Two sweepers or something funky. I'd put them in a rwd car too. I love rally as well but it just seemed like a cheesy section, and it's gonna make times even more inconsistent.

Ok I see what you mean there, maybe a chicane put in somewhere. A rwd car would be sweet just cause so many celebs would spin out and it would be funny but fwd is the basis of learning driving techniques.
