Official Tahoe Thread

Keep Tahoe Wu

I'm still in the very early development. But It will have a video section, A park section that shows in 3d (hopefully) the current status of the parks at northstar, heavenly, and Sqauw, What other resorts would you like to see/other features of the site?

This next week is gonna be KILLER. I'll be at n* until the wood operates its lifts. Maybe skiing christmas morning at the wood on a blue bird pow day? Jesus that would be the best christmas gift ever.

I'm sitting in the LA airport waiting to leave for New Zealand. And all I can think of is how much snow we are getting. Hopefully NZ will get rid of that

PUKING IN TAHOE!! wft. i cant believe im still in NH.

i'm coming back the 25th, hopefully there is some still left

anyone going to be at squaw for the next week? im headed out there for the first time and id love to ski with some ns's who know the mountain and can show me around

Squaw's gold coast park and mainline park are super fun! the park staff and I have been busting our asses trying to get a full park up and running.

any feed back on the mainline jumps? what do you guys think?

btw, im on the park crew. skier in a gray beanie, with K2 silencers, all red. give a shout out!

the bigger jumps on the far right are super fun right now

do you think you guys'll make them any bigger throughout the year?

Dammit I literally worked every powder day this last storm, that edit really bummed me out missing all that...

was at squaw for 5 days, got to ski with scott gaffney for 2 and he introduced me to cody townsend, jt holmes and a bunch of other pros- the snow was great and it was sick to ski with scott- he would point out where shane and cr skied lines in the different movies they were in- also was incredible to watch him ski down the palisades and mainline- best ski trip of my life

Sick dude, glad you got to meet Scott, he's a rad ass dude. I know Rob fairly well. Townsend is an absolute animal.

Was this for that fundraiser they did?

heavenly just set their three line up, i hear it's sick.

Northstar is super fun right now also.

Going to be in Tahoe for 5 days... Got a house at heavenly so most likely skiing there twice. What mountains would you guys recommend for the other days?

Thanks in advance and +k of course

nah i just met scott after talking on newschoolers and i asked him if hed show me around- he said he would and while we were skiing we ran into cody and all those guys it was sick

Did you get the epic pass? If so, you should definitely hit up Kirkwood if its snowing and Nstar for park. When are ya coming?

Yea I got the epic pass... Gonna be down Presidents' Day weekend. Was thinking of going to squawk but want a locals opinion on it

groomed runs at squaw on presidents day weekend are more scare than sending the middle finger with dust on crust.

You haven't seen lines until you've been to squaw on presidents day weekend. It's the one weekend a year I take off and I ski kirkwood........

if you want powder run and cool terrain, Diamond Peak or Mt Rose is a good bet. for park, alpine squaw or northstar, but im sure they will all be crowded

MLK weekend is not as bad, but can still get crowded, with squaw, heavenly and northstar being the busiest, naturally because they are the most developed resports . diamond peak, mt rose, homewood, and kirkwood are the most low key.

all are sick mountains, so you cant really go wrong

Cool terrain at Diamond peak if you are an intermediate skier. Beautiful views but cool terrain isnt a good way to describe it. Mt. Rose has the chutes which are pretty fun, for terrain Kirkwood, Squaw and Alpine got it.

so the storm for this weekend that was suppose to wield a couple feet has no been downsized to 3-6 inches. and its currently raining. anyone else bummed about this?

oh and before i forget, Bryan Allegretto, writer for Tahoe Weather Discussion moved to a new site, old news i know, but i figured i'd update this thread with that info. link below:
