the superbowl and world cup are so over-hyped, that you get a whole bunch of shmoes who arent even football or soccer fans hyped on it just cause everyone else is. they pretend to be a soccer or football fan just for the occaision so they can fit in. the ONLY reason they will watch either competition is purely for social kudos
