the opening day was great. every run but 2 were open. I never hit one rock. there were three mounds of snow in the park and I think they are going to set up 2 rails tomorow and start building a jump or 2 on Wednesday. as of 5:45 they had gotten 5 inches of new snow since they closed the lifts, so tomorow should be epic

holy crap 9 inches overnight from saturday to sunday, amazing, i didnt make it up this weekend, cuss i had plans, but next weekend im going up for sure.

this weekend they will have a table and 2 rails here is what the website said:
They worked on the park quite a lot today, and got two rails and one table put in. There's more on the way of course, but that should get you started for the weekend. The plans are on my desk in guest services if you want to take a look.

yeah, went up today, quite fun, even though i totally sucked it up. oh well. good conditions though.

well theres some sad news from showdown. my good buddy's dad was found dead recnetly around showdown. here is the official press release:

JANUARY 22, 2004
A Great Falls man was found dead in the Little Belt Mountains near Showdown Montana on Wednesday night by Meagher County Search and Rescue volunteers and Showdown Montana Staff.
A car was noticed in the parking lot at Showdown on Wednesday morning, leading Showdown staff to contact the Cascade County Sheriff. The sheriff’s department determined that the car was licensed to Lance Koke of Great Falls. When it was determined that Koke could be missing, the Meagher County Sheriff responded and a search was implemented.
On Tuesday, two backcountry skiers had noticed a snowboard track leaving the Ranch Creek Cross Country Ski Trail approximately two to two and one-half miles from the ski area boundary and descending into the Jumping and Adams Creek drainages.
Employees of Showdown Montana and members of the Great Falls Ski Patrol participated in the search under the direction of the Meagher County Sheriff. Lance Koke’s body was found by Showdown Staff in a heavily wooded area around 8:00 pm on Wednesday night.
Koke was a regular customer at Showdown, and had been a season p@$$ holder for several years. Authorities believe Koke left the ski area sometime on Monday, became lost and moved around in a non-directional manner in the Jumping Creek drainage.

the park is shaping up. the stepdown rail has been moved right below the second table. it now gos up, drop, down, the doublebarrel pvc is now right above the batlleship. where the pvc and stepdown were they are putting in a big spine. they put coping on top of the wallride to make it slidabe
