Sure, it's a process, but it's totally worth it.

I've made it a total of 3 times in the past two months. So yummy.

Coconut Cake

3/4 pound (3 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature, plus more for greasing the pans

2 cups sugar

5 extra-large eggs, at room temperature

1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

1 1/2 teaspoons pure almond extract

3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting the pans

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1 cup milk

4 ounces sweetened shredded coconut

For the frosting:

1 pound cream cheese, at room temperature

1/2 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature

3/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon pure almond extract

1 pound confectioners' sugar, sifted

6 ounces sweetened shredded coconut

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 2 (9-inch) round cake pans,

then line them parchment paper. Grease them again and dust lightly with

flour.

In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment,

cream the butter and sugar on medium-high speed for 3 to 5 minutes,

until light yellow and fluffy. Crack the eggs into a small bowl. With

the mixer on medium speed, add the eggs 1 at a time, scraping down the

bowl once during mixing. Add the vanilla and almond extracts and mix

well. The mixture might look curdled; don't be concerned.

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder,

baking soda and salt. With the mixer on low speed, alternately add the

dry ingredients and the milk to the batter in 3 parts, beginning and

ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Fold in the 4

ounces of coconut with a rubber spatula.

Pour the batter evenly into the 2 pans and smooth the top with

a knife. Bake in the center of the oven for 45 to 55 minutes, until the

tops are browned and a cake tester comes out clean. Cool on a baking

rack for 30 minutes, then turn the cakes out onto a baking rack to

finish cooling.

For the frosting, in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with

a paddle attachment, combine the cream cheese, butter, vanilla and

almond extract on low speed. Add the confectioners' sugar and mix until

just smooth (don't whip!).

To assemble, place 1 layer on a flat serving plate, top side

down, and spread with frosting. Place the second layer on top, top side

up, and frost the top and sides. To decorate the cake, sprinkle the top

with coconut and lightly press more coconut onto the sides. Serve at

room temperature.

Dude, boiled hot dogs are whack. Its all about cutting them in half long-ways, smothering in cheese and popping in the micro for 30 seconds.

Alright, well i didn't want to start a new thread for one thing so i bumped this one. Does anyone have any good homemade salsa recipes? Something not really complicated, but still pretty good and made with stuff that's not hard to get. I made some a few years back that was pretty awesome but forget what i did.

Salsa is delicious.

I make a mean pork tenderloin stuffed with goat cheese, apples, bacon and walnuts and topped with a cranberry demi-glace
I'll give you rough directions..I never measure things when I cook so I don't know the exact measurements...
1. butterfly a pork tenderloin2. sprinkle the inside with sea salt, pepper, and sage3. mix a bowl together with chopped apples, goat cheese, chopped walnuts and crispy bacon. stuff the mixture into the butterflied pork4. tie the pork up with kitchen string into a role.5. sprinkle the top with more sea salt and pepper.6. bake until the internal temp is 170 degrees

Demi-glace:in a pan, melt some butter. mix a can of cranberry relish (the kind with whole cranberries) with some white wine and some beef bolion. simmer on medium heat until the mixture cooks down to about 1/2. if the glace isn't thickening over time, you can add a little corn starch to help it.
once the pork is done, remove the kitchen string and cut into slices. top with demi-glace and serve.

I've been making lots of french toast before I go to class in the morning and its super easy. Takes 10 minutes tops.
- White/Wholemeal bread slices- 2 or 3 eggs- 1 Cup of milk- Honey or 3 tablespoons of brown sugar
Preheat the frying pan.Use a fork and beat the eggs in a large bowl, then add the cup of milk and blend it. Next add the honey/sugar and mix well. Dip the bread into the bowl and make sure it's soaked. Oil the frying pan with a stick of butter or if you find it easier the oil spray. When one side is brown flip it over. Once you oil the pan, you have to put the toast on it or else the butter gets burnt.
You can probably make about 6/7 slices of french toast with the above ingredients. Or if not, add an extra egg/milk.

Bleu-cheese bacon burgers: pack of ground beef, crumbled blue cheese, strips of bacon, BBQ sauce. Fry bacon in pan until crispy. Take one piece and chop into little pieces. Take ground beef and mix with bleu cheese, chopped bacon, and small amount of BBQ sauce. Mix together well. Form patties out of ground beef mixture. Place on barbecue. Cook to preferance. Place on bun and garnish with remainder if blue cheese and strips of bacon

I dont have any recipes but have you ever had flan? That shit is fucking crazy. Its off the FUCKING MEAT RACK.

DANK ASS BREAKFAST

Things you need:

Sliced deli turkey

Cheese (swiss works best)

2 English muffins.

Place 5-15 slices of deli cut turkey into a bowl. Proceed to think of all the things in this world that make you mad, and run a train on that turkey. Rip it into a ton of pieces.

Cut some swiss cheese (or use slices, whatever you got) into little one inch x one inch pieces.

Place the cheese on the turkey.

Microwave the bowl with a paper towel on top of it for 1:30

Now it's time to use those English muffins. Place the 2 muffins into the toaster, and toast those little whores.

By the time you're done toasting the English muffins, your molten hot turkey/cheese bowl will have cooled down a bit.

Use a fork to split the sea of turkey/cheese like moses. Right down the middle. Thats riiighhtttt, yeahhh. Looks delicious.

Put the now separated turkey/cheese clumps onto the tops of your muffins.

Look at the delicious brekky in amazement. Think of CeilingCat$.

ENJOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Flan is so damn good. Or ceme-brûlée, which is flan that has been cooked so that the top is crispy (usually with a blowtorch)

why dont you just go and make this thread into a cult.

would be easier and more organized that way

I sometimes back savory potato and red pepper beignets with yoghurt, mint and cucumber sauce.

It's so good. I'll post a recipe/ pics once I've worked out the optimal ingredient combos
