Phish people! If you were to recommend 1 show to download to get a guy into the band, what would it be. I want to start listening to them, but have no idea where to begin.

clearly the answer is go buy A Live One (their first live album release - never can go wrong starting there).

although if you really want to get into Phish, this is what i recommend. first, buy tickets to a show this upcoming summer. Now that you have said tickets, download the studio albums "The Story of the Ghost," "Hoist," and "A Picture of Nectar." You can download others (they are all great), but listen to each of these a few times. They are only like 45 minutes a piece. Stick them on your iPod, listen to them in the car, whatever. I'm sure you will like them, but I'm also sure you'll be left kind of confused. They won't really be like anything you've ever heard, and your immediate reaction might be to dismiss many of the songs.

Then, when you go to the concert, you'll already know the backbone of a decent swath of their "regulars." then, 3 and a half hours later, all your questions will be answered.

A month after the concert experience, your computer will have anywhere between 2-5 gigs of Phish downloaded to it.

Sick! I didnt realize Phish had a spreadsheet like that. Im a huge DMB fan and theres one for them. Thats awesome.

lol, someone asks for a show and they get sent to the spreadsheet.

bwahahahaha.

I pretty much blew up my old computer because of torrents and the phish spreadsheet.

:D same deal on the DMB equivalent. Phish vs DMB threads become insta-shitstorms. Im not sure why its so hard to just let people like what they like haha.

Oh god PT.... so much time wasted on PT in the past decade.... sometimes I wonder what I could have accomplished with all the time I've spent on there (and NS)

That's my favorite show I was at. Throw it on in the car every once in a while.

Here's some of the best of phish destroys america fall 97 tour.

Had a choice between Phish at the DCU Center or Gathering of the Vibes in CT for 4 days with Phil Lesh, Bob Weir and many other bands.

Had to pick Vibes... Phish next year perhaps?
