Fuck Honestly first set should be done by now. I dislike 25-30 songs in one show. world rather have 15-20 fully developed songs. But that's never gonna happen these days. Closest thing was the -7>ghost from albany fall 09

Gonna pretend you didnt write that. Take jaded Phish rants to the green

board, I refuse to allow that negativity to enter this arena. This set

has 4 short short songs which allow Possum, Tweezer, and Its Ice to be monsters. It needed a proper set closer, and Zero did just that.

Why dont you start Set 2?

Lol wut. This isn't pt. You've been bitching too much at random people in other threads.

dubstep breeds negativity - so i brought it accordingly. i think beyond those handful of comments in ur other thread ive refrained from NS hate speech.

i just dont agree with the whole "undeveloped jam" thing as far as 3.0 goes. maybe they dont do it as much, but to say -7>ghost back in albany 2 years ago was the only developed jam theyve had in 50+ shows since being back is redic.

It was far from perfect but it really was the only time they've actually gone for something like that.

ANd I'm not a dubstep guy at all, i just saw hate going every direction. Actually I could be the hipster cat. I saw some of these dubstep style djs at festivals at 3am years ago before dubstep was cool.

I don't mind getting my womp on from 3-5am when I'm party favored out. Just can't listen to that sitting there in the middle of the day. And some dubstep artists fucking blow. I wonder what the next fad will be.

And as far as the green board my post was honest of my opinion. IT wasn't a 3.0 noobs suck. Phish hasn't played well since the 90s. I've been to 200 shows and I'm never going to see them again but I'm still posting on pt sort of thing

Yeah thats exactly my point and thats exactly why i dont care what any dubstep lovin kid says back to me. If you can honestly sit there at 2 in the afternoon stone sober with your headphones on and listen to hours of endless dubstep then you just have a bad taste in music. 3am tryin to keep the roll going? totally within reason.

but as far as phish...

what about 12.31 ghost? 1.1.11 crosseyed>twist? 10.30 tweezeppelin? (a gimmick but developed nonetheless), or 8.12.10 TTE (just kidding)

i have visions of the 4 of them RIGHT NOW up in the barn slapping themselves on the wrist saying "we gotta get it perfect! were playin fucking WOODSTOCK in 2 weeks! we have to BLOW THEM AWAY, its woodstock fro christ sake!!!"

::delusional thoughts from fantasy island::

before i read the just kidding I was ready to come through the internet and slap you in the face.

My friend actually called for tte at amherst or manch last fall. SHe had to pee really bad. I told her I'd punch her if we got it. BOOM next fucking song.

I should have hit her but i didnt

Post show notes:
-Trey was accidentally dosed during the set break.-Mike's Song was 25 minutes long with the best 3.0 jam to date.-It was later discovered that Eric Clapton slipped a tab of acid into Trey's drink because he was sick of 20 song sets.-Clapton also advised the band never to play Time Turns Elastic ever again.

I do not agree that they haven't played well since the 90s. If we are talking about 3.0 or whatever it is. By the way I hate using 3.0 or 2.0 I think it is so dumb...

Here are some highlighted shows of fall and winter tour.

10/20/10 (Wed) Utica Memorial Auditorium - Utica, NY

Set 1: My Soul, Stealing Time From the Faulty Plan, Vultures, Wolfman's Brother > Cities > Guyute, David Bowie, Wilson > McGrupp and the Watchful Hosemasters > Saw It Again > Run Like an Antelope

Set 2: Drowned > Sand, Theme From the Bottom, Axilla > Birds of a Feather, Tela, Split Open and Melt > Have Mercy > Piper > Split Open and Melt > Slave to the Traffic Light, E: Good Times Bad Times

Such a great tight show, guyute and Wilson teases through out. (side note can't wait for my dvd to come.)

10/26/10 (Tue) Verizon Wireless Arena - Manchester, NH

Set 1: After Midnight, The Sloth, Alumni Blues > Letter to Jimmy Page > Alumni Blues, Mellow Mood, Access Me, Llama, All of These Dreams, The Curtain With > Scent of a Mule, A Song I Heard the Ocean Sing, It's Ice, Walls of the Cave

Set 2: Possum > Light > Mike's Song > Simple > Makisupa Policeman > Night Nurse > Makisupa Policeman > The Wedge, Ghost > The Mango Song > Weekapaug Groove > Llama Reprise, E: Show of Life

From everyone I talked to this was the best show of 2010. I didn't go but have heard it a bunch of times

12/27/10 (Mon) DCU Center - Worcester, MA

Set 1: Sample in a Jar, Funky Bitch, Cool It Down, Roggae, Heavy Things, What Things Seem, Roses are Free, It's Ice, Mountains in the Mist, Julius

Set 2: Mike's Song > Mound, Weekapaug Groove, Farmhouse, Seven Below > What's the Use > Twenty Years Later, Wading in the Velvet Sea, Possum, Cavern, David Bowie, E: Loving Cup

I will admit the first part of this show was horrible. The Roggae was great, second set after Framhouse (set Killer) was money and smoking. Listen to Seven below >whats the use> twenty and tell me that they haven't played well since the 90s.

I think everyone looks at the 90s and wants them back, you aren't going to get them back sorry to burst that bubble. There will never be another Island Tour, it just won't happen. The Dead went through it too, they starting playing shorter songs less jamming. I will agree that the new fans are sort of annoying but hey just like skiing they are having fun.

damn this was starting to turn into a PT-ish thread and 4frnt man just made the least PT post i've ever seen! haha

i don't get everyone bitching, shows are still fun as hell and all their fire shows are all easily downloadable in, most of the time, great quality.

i hopped on the train late and i'm glad i still have the chance to see them and am able to listen to pretty much any show from the past that i want. more dancing room in my own house than a crowded venue..

Agreed! I wasn't going to say anything as I usually try to avoid the pointless PT-style hate, but.... really guys? I certainly have enjoyed many Phish shows post-90's era and have had a kick-ass time... espech at that Manchester show : )
Get over yourselves and enjoy the music please : ) Thanks!

Def not trying to bring PT to NS.

What other shows are people going to either phish or not?

My hit up furthur at great woods as well. If I can get a cheap ticket. I know Zach Deputy and Ryan are both putting on booze cruises out of Boston. Usually those are pretty fun, last Deputy show I went to was at the Dise and it was pretty horrible. Why do people think it is okay to bring glow sticks on string and hoops to indoor shows? So annoiyng.

Well as of now for Phish I have tickets to Cuyahoga, Cinci, Darien, Camden. Trying to make bethel happen.
I'd love to go to part of the west coast leg, but due to recent money events it will likely not happen.

i got tickets for the gorge and tahoe shows.. hoping i can afford those three nights in colorado so i can get a show in on my birthday, would be pretty cool.

sounds like there's some sick late night shows on the tahoe nights, i just remember JGB on the first night i think, and maybe lotus the second? can't remember..

Lotus late night = AWESOMEEEEEEE so so jealous..... I'm assuming you're goin with the brother..... SO SO JEALOUS.... take me with youuuu (that means buy my tix) ?!!?!?!?!

ysagurs is going to be bokers. Get your fucking tickets NOW NOW NOW if you plan on attending bethel. My friends the heavy pets got pulled onto the lineup and they will fucking slay latenight. You'll have all the other phanners coming back from the show to rage with. IT's going to be sick. I myself have been locked into summercamp. If you plan on going to bethel though def get a fucking ticket to yasgurs

guyutica.jpg

Yo I posted this in PT already but on the off chance someone in here is looking for a CAMDEN ticket holla at me. Ideally I'd like to trade a Cinco or Cuyahoga for Camden......

: )

Just wanted to throw this out there. I preordered Utica and it came yesterday. The bonus disk is called I-90s and it is so fucken good. All shows from the 90s all from shows of I-90 (NY state thruway). I popped it into my cd player on my way to work and was blow away. I believe preorder is still open today. If you havent pre-ordered do it now, its the only way to get I-90s.

bethel = awesome

howz about that furr a turr opener?? i dont care what the critics say sunday show was the tits of the weekend. front to back the whole place jumped the entire show. have phun everyone my tour is over hope everyone elses is just as swell!

Mr. Minor has some good write ups of the Bethel and last night's shows.

From what I have from a couple of buddies doing the first leg, all members are on 100% they are killing it. As for #rd night of Bethel, people were bitching and moaning but you can't always get the inprov show like the two nights before.

Currently I am listening to the second night of Bethel. I would post the link but some reason it doesnt work. My boy found it off Sugar mags I believe.

See ya all in Mansfield

Mr. Miner is an idiot. I still read him after every show i go to but i find myself disagreeing with him nearly %75 of the time. for example, on paper and on PT everyone is blowing their loads on the opening set from saturday. well, me and the 20 people i was with all agreed that they sans bathtub that set never really got off the ground. just kinda went blahhhhh until bathtub rocked out worlds. and sunday, sunday was when everything seemed to come together. improv or not, the energy was there stronger or thicker than the other 2 nights.

great weekend overall.
