Official NS Highdeas Thread

This is obviously not getting stickied, but imagine how beautiful it would be if we had one collective thread for all of this stuff. I really hope this is not a repost...

Anyways, I was thinking about eternity. I know that technically the idea of eternity initially makes people of a really long (limitless) time. Actually, it's the absence of time, the omnipresence of all occurrences, or something along those lines. But for this idea, imagine eternity being an endless timeline. With that notion, everything that can happen will happen. For example, some rock formation in some desert will be eroded by wind and water so that it has the exact resemblance of Mount Rushmore.

Now let's suppose time travel. I don't think it is possible, but our minds our incredible finite and perhaps it is. Now, suppose that time travel has to be created by humans. Obviously at this point in time our technologies are not sophisticated enough to produce time travel. But suppose that 1000 years from now, we really got our shit together and created time travel. Furthermore suppose, we've already been to 3012 and we've time-traveled back. That could have happened, but we lost evidence of creating time travel when the Tartus (Dr. Who time machine) disappeared. But even if that did happen, we would eventually really get our shit together and create time travel that was able to preserve evidence of the creation/existence of time travel. And even if we got really sophisticated and had the ability to prove time travel in the past but said we would vow not to tell the past we would create time travel, somebody would eventually fuck up and let the cat out of the back. That is, if time travel is possible, we would have created it in the future by now and proved it's existence.

One (or more) can come from this.

1. We haven't been to 3012 for the first time yet.

2. Time travel isn't possible.

3. Eternity doesn't exist because time travel didn't happen.

4. we REALLY got our shit together and became expert secret-keepers.

I barely read this but two things

1. It's the TARDIS. Time and Relative Dimensions in Space

2. Time travel isn't possible in the sense that you will be in the same reality. Changing time would create an alternate reality but other than that time travel is supposedly possible

also I read time travel somewhere in there. I just have to say that what some people conceptually believe about time travel is that if we build and object that allows you to travel through time in my mind you would need a receiver for the transported object. therefore I believe that we would need to have them in sync in order to to transport an object. I feel that is more likely of a time travel concept than building a machine that transports itself and the contents inside. Maybe I'm wrong but I believe that's the reason we will never see our future self before the machine is built. also traveling through time creates a paradox, where one of the people are doomed whether its the future person or the past and there may be a chance one or both cease to exist. Probably wrong with some of my theories but hey I have never studied time travel in school. Ideas come from a mix of my own theories and television.

So, sound is just like, moving air. So obviously, air can play any song you want, it just needs a little help. But, what if you convice the air to move like that on it's own. Weightless sound system.

That dogs face gets me everytime.. Also, bowl frisbee. Read of their legend in books never seen one. Sounds glorious.

Someone and keep them suspended without the affects of "timel till it was the "future" that way they would arrive to the future in the same way they left the "past"

Considering everyone is traveling into the future at one second at a time, then I guess traveling at more shouldn't be impossible

I have mastered forward time travel through meditation, but aging is the biggest problem.

For such an advanced civilization that we have, the average person would be absolutely worthless/helpless without it.

a great highdea: you adopt two sets of male and female monkey's, and you have them inbreed as you are training them to fight, and maybe with the inbreeding, they'll end up like the people in the hills have eyes, except they'll also be trained in martial arts and be masters of weapons. then you could take some shit over.

I always figure something really cool that i had never thought of before out but don't think to write it down then forget it

Massive repost is massive. Repost is repost. Repost is massive repost. This is a repost. Major repost is still actually but not entirely defined by it's reposted content. If you repost a video, does it change? If you are the last person on earth to find out about something, is it still cool? What would jesus do? Would he repost or would he not repost. A repost is an interesting thing, it happens far too often to be exciting though. You really can't appreciate the beauty of a repost because it is, in fact a repost. If you searchbarred, would you have bumped one of the 50 threads on this? Or still chosen to repost. The mind of a reposter is none like we have ever seen, a very interesting subject. Steven Hawkings research on super massive reposts on the discovery channel was amazing, but I had already seen it 50 times. So was it really awesome then? Or just cool because I liked it the first time? Will the reposts end? Or will the reposts continue.

New episodes of repost men on tonight.

Instead of putting a lump of ice cream on top of a waffle, why not use a knife and spread it like butter for a more even distribution?

What if I'm actually retarded, and since I have such a severe case of retardation I think I'm normal. Also the majority of the people not calling me a retard are just being nice, therefore i can't figure out that i am a retard.
