Official NHL 08-09 Thread

I've never seen an arena as empty as the Thrasher's was for their game against Minnesota the other day... that is, until I watched Minnesota play the Panthers tonight. Move these teams to Canada for christ's sake. (Or to Hartford... gotta love the Whale)
 
Wow. Penguins are starting to scare me.

Losing a 3-0 lead, and we need to break this weird curse of only being able to score on power plays.
 
this is the WILD's year!!! i can feel it. we have a ton of new talent and have managed to win the first three games without our leading scorers. fuck the avs and the ducks the wild are takin the cup this year.
 
yes you have, hte Thrashers generally have better attendance than Nashville, the Islanders, Panthers, and probably even the Bruins. Fans are just turned off this year by the team's ownership battle and a crappy past season.

Once they start surprising people, winning, and are in a fight with Washington for 1st in the SE, the fans and sold out Philips Arena will be back.

 
so now that the season is under way and i've seen most of the teams play, i have to say i still like montreal and detroit to go to the finals
 
Yea i thought we (as in the sabres) lost and i actually fell asleep and my roomate woke me up screaming because she loves them more than i do.
 
the gf and i are scalping tickets to the Caps game in DC against the devils, ive never been to an NHL game cause i didnt grow up near a team so im fucking stoked to say the least...
anyone else going to this game? come get some sushi with us first in chinatown
i also wanna go to the Avs whenever Detroit comes to Denver after i move out west, but i heard tix are impossible to find for less than a couple hundred bucks
 
Can't believe the Wings lost, so disappointed.

The Leaf - Flames game is pretty sweet, the fans are like half and half haha.
