Not really how CTE works, it has more to do with hitting your head hundreds of times (even non-concussive hits) than how many concussions you get

dude could be completely fine, we have no idea yet. Like someone else said, CTE isnt just a condition you get from one big slam.

someone can correct me if this is wrong, but i think the fencing response is saving his brain from damage and some people are more prone to have that reaction vs others, but maybe past concussions play a factor. either way, hitting your head hard 3 times in 3 years is pretty bad.

id be surprised if he "retires" but he'll probably take like 6-8 games off to make sure hes fully in the clear before playing again.

Tua has to retire. Shits gunna really fuck him up.

Ya there’s no way he comes back again safely. At this point the kid is literally just risking his life. It was horrible live

I would bet a significant amount of money he plays again. Hes a football player, players have come back from worse.

Not many players have come back from this many severe concussions, and the ones that have ended up being vegetables when they were already. It’s already being reported on our local news down here that his parents were saying he needs to retire last night when they were having the family meeting in the locker room.

Times are different. I think he’s done.

If he at least played a competitive it might be different. He looked absolutely lost out there last night.

you listen to the beat reporters too much. none of them are doctors.

I’m local. I get to hear from The local reporters who are literally standing outside the locker rooms. Doctors were already telling him he’s on thin ice last time around. Which is why he had to sit out the entire season. Kid hasnt made it through majority of the seasons he’s played in. Dolphins aren’t going to keep revolving an entire team around someone who can’t make it more than a few games. There’s already been multiple doctors who said he should have stopped playing last time.

Exactly. He hasn’t looked great at all this season. He’s set financially. No reason to ruin his entire life or end it early to try and come back for a game or two just to get knocked out again. Just sucks that our entire team was based around someone who ain’t gonna be around long enough to do anything. Time for us to tank the rest of the season and draft someone new next year.

I know you watch football, you know none of this will matter. Hes gonna play.

he played one game how can you say he doesn't look good?

he also just signed a huge contract, as did tyreek as did ramsey, the dolphins are not going to tank lol.

I know all of this will matter. Idk what world you live in that players health doesn’t matter but thats just ignorant as fuck. You can keep parroting your opinion all you want but at this point all signs point to him retiring. Those are just the facts.

here’s a great article from actual tough guys who actually played the game all saying he needs to retire. They know far more than you or I about the game and the life after the game.

He played two games. And I can say he didn’t look good because I actually watch both games. Again I know you don’t actually follow one team because you don’t have a favorite. I do. The dolphins. I watch all the games start to finish. He looked horrible last night. He also wasn’t great the first game.

The fact he signed a massive contract along with the other players is exactly why they would tank. He’s useless at this point. He can’t make it more than a couple games. The dolphins nor the players around him want to waste their career on a guy who can’t make it more than a couple games. They want to win. Can’t win when your star qb is benched because he can’t play.

your misunderstanding me. i get what you are saying i do not need an explanation, I just think it doesn't matter because he will play again. maybe i'm wrong, but tua is a competitive player that will feel fine in a few days, gonna be hard to keep him off the field.

You dont know more than anyone else guessing on the internet, we'll just find out when it happens.

I watched both games too, I watch every game haha tua was fine, played two games against two good defenses. Real football doesn't start til after thanksgiving.

Well yet again you’re 100% wrong. He will not feel fine in a couple of days. That’s not how severe concussions work. Especially with repeated ones. There’s a reason he missed so many games after the last ones. He’s going to miss majority of this season again if not all of it. In which case he will retire in the offseason and the dolphins will move on from this literal head ache

So you watch every game in the NFL from start to finish? Right. If you actually watched the games from beginning to end you’d know exactly why he wasn’t good. Because he wasn’t. He played like complete ass last night and he struggled against the jags too.

Were you watching the same game against Buffalo? Buff's defense is solid but nowhere near what it used to be with the cap issue. He threw 3 picks, couldn't convert third downs and threw for 145 yards? He looked lost AF and that was before the concussion. I can only imagine what he'll look like now with more brain damage.

And let’s not forget their star LB was gone early and a rookie took his place, along with a bunch of back ups filling in for injured starters.

It's still only 2 games but you guys can make whatever judgement you want.

I guess we'll see, I think people are overreacting saying he'll retire, that's all. We don't really have that much info other than he hit his head. I'm not arguing your knowledge here, I'm just saying he's a competitive player.

That’s completely bullshit. We already know he had fencing syndrome. Which was when his arms and body started to curl. Which is a direct sign of a traumatic brain injury. That’s a FACT. Him already having that happen multiple times in the past puts him multiple times higher for severe brain damage with more head hits. Again those are known facts. He didn’t just bump his head. Again if you’re actually reading the facts that are out there about concussions and his injuries past and present you wouldn’t be making such blatantly stupid comments. Theres a reason now multiple players, doctors, family and other people involved with the nfl said he should retire at this point. Theres a reason people involved in the league are saying the league needs to step up and protect him from himself.

clearly you don’t give a shit and just want him back out there to take another hit and possibly die on the field.

God dammit that was a fun MNF slate.

As a broncos fan I'm lowkey enjoying the season, Bo has had a few flashes and our defense might be the best in the NFL so I'm at least somewhat optimistic for a playoff push

I still think it’s so weird they have 2 mnf games at the exact same time like why not one at 6 and one at 10

Ya really don’t understand it. Let’s go back to one Monday as one thur.

as a dolphins fan I’d say our season is over.

What if Tua comes back?

He’s still going to be out too many games so we’ll be down 6-7 games already. He’ll take one hit and be knocked back into elementary school again mentally and our back ups all suck at this point.

ABC / ESPN contract Push or something along those lines.

Basically, they want to double their numbers. They simulcast MNF on ABC but to bolster numbers they run two games on monday before the byes start.

I think they put the better game on ABC and hope they get 2x the viewership. Its all ad dollars.

It doesnt seem like a coincidence that one of the games each week is an absolute snoozer.

Even if the game is a snoozer that’s still 2x the amount of ads they can run so they still get their bag.

Atleast sometimes you get some football breaks during commercialball
