Official NFL 2012-2013 Thread

My point exactly. Not arguing for either side (well, I guess I was), but the refs did absolutely nothing to manage the game. Did that game really look like a game with 7 penalties total? No way!

Plenty of blatant pass interference calls were missed (the one you mention), the defense holding call on the skins was a complete joke, Kerrigan was held the entire game, people getting tackled after the play and no flags? From the very start, the refs did nothing to keep control of the game.

Regardless of the refs though, there is no way an injured RG3 or Captn Kirk could keep up with the Seahawks. Especially when we completely abandon the run and ask our injured qb to throw and run read options.

Congrats on the win Seahawks fans! Matt Ryan struggles much harder to win a playoff game than the seahawks do playing on the road, so you should stomp the Falcons next week I'm assuming.

Next week predicitons? I say both NFC teams win on the road in tight games, and both AFC teams win comfortably at home.

Texans @ Patriots

Ravens @ Broncos

Packers @ 49ers

Seahawks @ Falcons

There was one--the bears. we beat the bears, and I'm pretty sure the tie would go to us because they compare wins against like opponents, etc. so the hawks would have gotten the wild card regardless.

and-- it wasn't a "gift" the play was a close call on the field and was not reviewable. Maybe the ref shouldn't have thrown his hands up for a touchdown so that it could actually be reviewed first, but he didn't. I can't see anything about the play that definitively makes it NOT a simultaneous catch. I'm not saying it was a definitive catch by Tate, just that it was simultaneous, and simultaneous goes to the offense. Anyone who is not a seahawks fan or who is a packers fan disagrees, but such is a the game. I honestly looked at the replay 1 million times.

I didn't know I was comparing and contrasting against the chiefs but seeing your icon I guess that's what this is about? I named a lot more than 5 players, my only point was that if you watched the Seahawks you wouldn't think they were a lucky team, you'd acknowledge how many good players they have. How many years in a row has Seattle had a leading defense? Anyway, I guess I just don't understand what you meant when you said "fluke"-- I thought you meant they were lucky.

so they were a fluke getting into the playoffs? they were a fluke to win against the redskins? If they win against the falcons will they still be a fluke? What about winning the NFC, still? what if they take the superbowl, are they still a fluke? What if they have a great season next year and continue their success? Just not sure what part you consider a fluke and where the line is drawn when you'll give them credit. Your posts don't have any insight or explanation.

i see. then i guess the seahawks/redskins matchup was lucky from the start, because everyone knew rg3 was hurt going into that game. fuck that field for being in such poor condition. I also can't believe that rg3 and his coaches decided he should keep playing. why take the risk of destroying your whole career over this season? he has such potential for greatness- let the sprain heal IMO. As far as i know they are still waiting on the results of that fall he took in the fourth quarter?

Chris Clemons tore his ACL on that shitty field- so it isn't all luck for the hawks :(

The Broncos should jump all over the Ravens..... again. I think the Texans have a higher chance at upsetting the Pats than the Ravens beating the Broncos, although I don't see it happening. Thus the best game of the season will be all set up for Broncos-Pats rematch in Denver.

Could watch this all day!

Trent Williams lookin mean as hell and RG3 showing why even after blowing his knee out and gettin' knocked out of the playoffs, he is still one of the classiest mother fuckers ever!

I'd punch that piece of shit trash talking sherman right in the mouth too...if I was 6'3" 300lbs

Why do black people always get that high squeaky voice when things start gettin testy? Strangest thing..

i mean its just talking. he is hurting nobody. obviously you hate it if you play against a guy who is always chattering, but its pretty easy to shut him up: beat him on the field.

and as it turns out, not a lot of people shut up sherman this year, so let him talk.

its kind of funny, it would be kinda boring without these personalities

Have you ever played against somebody who talks shit in any sport?

They don't care if they're winning or losing, shit talkers will talk shit. Just shows a lack of class.

yeah i have, and they shut up if you outplay them. or they continue and even their teammates tell them to shut the fuck up.

i am not saying its not annoying, but you can definitely do something about it. and most people get incredibly pumped up by such trash talking, so they cut their own flesh basically.

so i think its impressive that he talks trash like that all season long, and no receiver was able to shut him up and a fucking oliner has to come over and shove him.

I agree the dude has had a great season and usually if you outplay a guy they'll shut up but this guy just runs his god damn mouth constantly and acts like fucking boner

In comes ashley knob gobbling everything seahawks in 3...2...

I agree it brings entertainment. I love it.

And when I played against people who talked shit, it just motivated me more. It was usually bad news for them, because it just fueled me to play harder.

the dudes a beast, iv got no problem with talking shit. it's part of the game, the reason football is so exciting is due to its aggressiveness, part of that is shit talking. deal with it.

plus sherman is a flat out baller. be scared.

seriously think that the broncos are a tad overrated. i am not saying the other teams are perfect, but when you look at a few games here and there, very much but not so extreme like the falcons, they looked a little better than they are in my opinion.

they might be the best balanced team in the NFL, but we will see how they fare against the (imo) lowly ravens. anything but a convincing win there will be a failure, given the ravens inability to play on the road. flacco and lewis are playing as well, which might help a tad (lewis had a -4.4 grade last week according to PFF, which is as bad as it sounds).

The fact that the Pats lost to the Cards is what I was trying to get at. The Broncos - Pats game earlier this year is irrelevant though, that will no bearing on a potential AFC Championship game seeing as how the Broncos are playing much better since week 5 and that the game would be in Denver, not New England.
The Broncos lost that game because their D couldn't stop the run at the time and couldn't get settled into their schemes because of the pace at which Brady was operating his offense. The Broncos are now 3rd in the league at stopping the run and Brady wont be able to go as fast in Denver than he did in New England for a number of reasons, i.e. Altitude, crowd noise, etc...

Its not surprising you'd say this seeing as how you are a Chiefs fan. I personally don't see how they are over rated considering how the Broncos are a team with a better defense than a Peyton Manning offense.
They also were up 31-3 the last time they matched up against the Ravens IN Baltimore (mind that Denver was 0-8 in Baltimore before that game), pretty sure thats convincing enough.

obviously crowd noise is a factor and it really advantages the home olines and dlines. for evidence just watch the recent games vikes-packers, the first in the metrodome and the second one at lambeau, or even the first quarter of the redskins-seahawks game. the seahawks dline was shoved 1,5 to 2 yards back on every snap, it was bad.

but the last example also showed, that whenever your team sucks for a prolonged period, the fans are out of it. IF the pats are able to create a 10-point lead or so, the fans wont be a factor, especially if they manage to do it while running.

but for now, both teams have to finish their business. and these rematches are tricky, everyone knows that.

and i agree with hey-dude-its-me that youre stupid, lol, i am a chargers fan.

Their division sucks but I don't see how they're overrated. After week 5 they've beat every team on their schedule easily and they are consistently one of the highest scoring teams in the nfl.

^the third one from what ive read. "streamlined" and "without the helmet" and thats what i heard.

dont care too much though.

funny how this "redskins"-name thing will shake out. kind of a big step when you think about how long they are in the league under this name and stuff.

You obviously haven't watched many broncos games in the past two years. We can be down 20+ and our crowd will not give up, and will still go apeshit. Especially in the playoffs, definitely not worried about our fans being out of it.

Like you watch any tebow games last year, it would be pretty much impossible for us to win but our fans would still go crazy and somehow tebow would pull off a W. After last year broncos fans don't give up easily, so watch out patriots!

The Washington Multi-culturals! Can't wait!

Maybe we could come up with a great name like the Wizards, oh wait....

nope i think giselle takes the cake there. I mean fuck, victoria's secret, rated top 100 hottest women by different magazines…and she tied down tom brady. She's hot as fuck.

And the Pats will beat the broncos, so your argument is invalid.

The logo on this helmet looks kind of sick. Except, it's in the same manor as every other nfl logo and loses a lot of originaltiy.

yeah but if I were a miami fan I'd be willing to lose some originality- it's better than the clipart of an actual dolphin.
