Official NFL 2012-2013 Thread

my lead erased by one guy and he still has drew brees to play...

good thing everyone else in my league sucks haha

Broncos continuing to dominate. 5-3 headed to Carolina next week followed by the Dolts in Denver. Schedule is pretty much a cake walk for the rest of the season, hopefully we'll get a first round bye in the playoffs.

Vikings playing like the Vikings again...atleast they are crashing now and not making it look like they are playoff capable...can't wait till next season.

Leshoure was beasting. Megaton had close to 180 yards receiving and stafford became the 2nd fastest QB to reach 10k career passing. Still not convinced though since it was the jags but it was a good win. First time they dominated from start to finish. Oh and on a side note, luck looked like a 10-year veteran yesterday. I think he broke like 450 yards passing. Most ever by a rookie. Those are like madden numbers.

fucking vikings. unless ponder all the sudden starts playing well, we're fucked, last place in the division for sure. time for another QB...

omg, the eagles. definitely my favourite team in the NFC, but this season is a complete failure.

although this game wasnt that bad at all if you look at it seperately. or more exact, not on vick at all.

vicks pick six was a 14 point swing imo, but its on celek or the refs. that ball is in the perfect location because of the tight/illegal coverage and it just bounces of celeks hands. thats just bad luck. if manning or brees would throw that ball, we would be creaming on the perfect ball placement away from the receiver only where his guy can make the catch blablabalbala. the saints had a few tips too but they were lucky enough to have them fall to the ground.

the other red zone blunders included dropped passes by mccoy and celek (or fumbles for that matter) and hilariously bad pass protection, false starts and what not.

vick made two mistakes the whole game: one 2nd quarter pass late over the middle shouldve been picked off, and not identifying the blitz on one of their early red zone chances.

otherwise, all balls were fucking spot on, he changed plays a few times in the first half with good success, he avoided sacks and hanged in the pocket even though he was hit at least 15 times and so often.

the eagles have two problems:

1) their defense is solid but not what you would expect when you read the names, especially the Dline cannot live up to its status, maybe they rotate too much and they cannot get in a groove.

2) pass protection. like gruden said, its not an excuse when you have one starting lineman left, its reality. i bet that at least 80% of the sacks and corresponding fumbles by vick are on the oline and would actually be willing to review all of them if someone wants proof. and with a "gunslinger" like vick, a lot of the picks are also on the oline. he will try to fit one in even when he cannot set his feet. very much like philip rivers or brett favre or who else. people always give QBs soooo much credit when they deliver the ball under pressure and its caught, but WHENEVER its a pick, people are like "oh man, gotta throw that ball away, dumb dumb play".

and what i maybe write every year:

i really dont like the media with their black/white paintings.

like, literally no team is so bad as the media makes them and you have to be careful as fuck when the media "likes" your team.

seriously, 20 bucks here say that if ALL teams would be allowed in the playoffs, 7th seed or higher would win the super bowl. simply because there are 20 teams and this any given sunday thing is well and alive.

and i downright hate people who jump on players who have poor supporting casts and suck players dicks who have awesome supporting casts. football is the ultimate team sport and it makes me sick when people want to pin the entire blame or fame on one guy. yes, rarely this will be the case, but not every good damn week, year in and year out.

hahahahha anyone have that clip of the bucs punt that got blocked (I think it was the bucs punting, i just barely saw the highlight during the patriots halftime)?

epic faceplant then just lays there in shame

well he turned it around against the lions 221 passing yards, 2 tds, 75% completion percentage...thank god we got to play against the lions haha.

now its @Chicago @GreeBay home against Chicago...we're fucked haha.

Doubtful. Peterson isnt known for his ball protection, and the Bears force fumbles like no ones business. They will get pressure on Ponder as well.

I don't think the bears are as good as their record or numbers show. They've only played 1 solid team so far and they lost to them. I don't expect them to do much if anything at all come playoff time.

My bad, Vick is actually out because of a concussion. When i turned the game on Foles was in and I assumed it was because Reid benched Vick

Idk but I cant wait for either. Plus then I can watch more Teblow fail. Really its a win win win situation.

I think Rex Ryan might have a hard time finding another job, his shtick is played out and has proved ineffective as a head coach and also makes him less desirable as a coordinator/assistant

Agreed. Not only is he a poor head coach, but he has an attitude and ego to contend with as well.

Is a tie really a tie in the NFL? Its messing with my head since the context of the NFL is so different from NHL. (Talking in terms of the standings)

I feel like a tie in a league like the NHL or soccer is a legitimate tie since every team will end up having multiple ties. But in the NFL ties are so rare that it makes me think that NFL ties are either closer to a win or closer to a loss for both teams that tied. Not sure if that makes sense.
