wow i couldnt believe that they are getting more shit on them.

if this is true it could really damage the saints, i wouldnt be to surprised if brees left.
 
since when do philly fans appreciate the whole dline 1st round tradition?

i think they had a top notch Dline by all accounts. but obviously there wasnt a ILB or S worthy of the 15th pick, so i guess it made sense.

pats did a good job. defense gotta be better. could be one of the better linebacking corps now (pretty much 4-3 only i guess) with mayo, spikes and hightower. chandler jones can be moved all over the place, good pick too.

 
Bruce is a beast check that footage... his off the field issues arent that big of a deal, dude doesnt use drugs but gets mixed up in dumb shit
 
chargers did pretty well i guess. not overly awesome, but legit. the ingram kid better be tearing something up, philips needs someone opposite of him to even slightly put some fear into opposing o-lines.

apart from him, the 2nd round DT and the safety, i dont really expect too much from the other guys. since i follow the chargers (like 2-3 years) they didnt do an awesome job in the later rounds and if one of them even makes the final roster i am impressed.

pats get high praise and if both first-rounders work out, they will be THE team to watch. one of the best linebacking corps with mayo, spikes and hightower could be in the making and ready for years to come. that late CB that they took will blow some shit up. i can feel it. he is dumb enough to get arrested a few days prior to the draft, but he was a borderline 1st rounder and you have to take that gamble. could be a legit group all of a sudden with a healthy dowling and both starters in arrington and mccourty returning. safety will still be an issue. mark my words.

 
probably a direct result of receiving multiple concussions over his career. and then you have fans, players and even coaches disagreeing with the bounty suspensions...yeah, like destroying some dudes head, whilst wearing a helmet no less, is the manly thing to do. such a hypocritical stance (i.e., "that's part of football/mans game, bitch" and "huge tragedy"). as gregg williams once said: kill the head and the body will die.

great article imo, perfect summary of all this tebow vs orton, brady vs manning(s) and more recently newton vs smith bullshit.

obviously, QBs are measured by their ability to lead their teams to wins and championships. anyone with a brain would take newton over smith. on another note, brady is really playing lights out the last few years, rarely having bad games and he mastered so many nuances in the same period, while he won his three SBs when he was by all accounts the "lesser" player. i swear that this article speaks straight from my heart and uses so many examples that were flying around in my head for a long time. spot on.

Great article.

It is the polar opposite of what I hate about sports. All these stupid shit head sports nerds crunching numbers trying to justify who is better than who by comparing numbers that are like comparing apples to oranges

there are SO many intangibles in the team sports it is nearly impossible to get a clear picture of how good one player is without taking into consideration so many different aspects

as for me, die hard vikings fan, i'm happy as hell we secured a new stadium and the vikings are guaranteed in Minnesota for 50 more years I hope to god they can win a super bowl in that time....this season I for see a 7 - 9 record at best...our division is tough, but who knows the NFL is crazy.

bill polian explained the saints situation pretty well on sportscenter just now, basically saying nobody feels sorry for them and theyre fools to try to take on goodell in any fashion other than begging for mercy

Holy fuck there is nothing worse than an hour long sports center where its 98% baseball clips and some anchor jizzing their pants over a freakin ground ball..can't wait for this season to roll around so we can watch some real athletes, and not have to suffer through this miserably long baseball season

It's all relative. A MLB player compared to me who only played collegiate level sports is obviously a superior athlete in most respects, but an MLB player compared to an NFL player is an inferior athlete 9 out of 10 times

so reading this, what do you guys think? which positions are "easier" and which are tougher to play in the NFL?

maybe its easier to split it up into physically/mentally tough.

i think QB/K are the mentally toughest ones where you could live with decent athleticism.

on the other side of the extreme, i would say that CB/RB are positions where the physical part is a lot more important than mental strength.

its so hard to overall compare all these positions and on a level that noone of us played ourselves obviously. in terms of "overall difficulty", the franchise tag value should be a good proxy.

yeah I'm stoked that summer is about over. Also stoked that I purchased my home opener tickets for the Chiefs!!!

I really think the Chiefs have a legitamate chance into getting in the playoffs this year if they injuries dont come back. Only hard part is the first 5 games are br00tal.
