Official NFL 2011-2012 Thread

dont forget the steelers offense. they had to kick two early FGs when they rolled up and down the field and the broncos did horseshit on offense.

then the bad snap at the end denying them the chance for a (albeit long) FG, you can pretty easily say that the steelers offense didnt come through either. and the O even got lucky on one other interception (not sure whether roethlisberger saw the offsides), one fumble called an incompletion and bailey dropping a cheeseburger (yeah, i am trying to start a new football-slang movement).

steelers didnt play good all around. broncos earned that one fair and square.

idk if he deserves the heat he is getting right now. redman tried to pull them out of the fire at the end, but it didnt work out. but when you think about that both starting RBs were hurt, maybe tomlin should turn up the heat on the conditioning staff. and on another note the defensive struggles added more fuel to the fire. who couldve imagined that the steelers would get burned deep like that play after play? dick lebeau probably didnt burn the midnight lamp last week and didnt prepare his unit well enough. and offensively, they had too many irons in the fire, with all those receivers and really no go-to guy when the game was on the line. but maybe it was a baptism by fire for all those young guys and they will step up next year.

bottom line: broncos were just on fire that day. steelers went down in flames.

Here we go, again.

i mean he is alive and as far as i am concerned not in a life-threatening situation.

so its definitely not too soon by my standards.

Giants over packers

Saints over 49ers

Pats over broncos

Texans over Ravens

Giants over Saints

Texans over Pats

Giants over Texans in the superbowl.

i actually agree on the divisional round thingy.

the giants shouldve won the game during the regular season against the packers. and since then the packers surely didnt get hotter, but the giants did.

i could imagine that the 49ers will hold brees in check (meaning around 300 yds and 1-2 TDs, lol). if the 49ers will ever get into a situation where they trail by 10+ pts early on, the saints D will take over this game with its (league-leading?) heavy blitzing. and alex smith is one of those QBs you CAN blitz. will be closer than most people think and if the 49ers can do something on D or ST, watch out for an "upset".

i have literally no doubt that the pats will roll over the broncos. the pats have something to make up for. they havent played a signifanct role in the playoffs since 07 and they will look to change that right here right now against the worst team they faced in the playoffs since then. although they had issues against those good defenses and run-heavy teams the last couple years (jets/ravens). on the other hand, the broncos have accomplished ten times more than anybody couldve thought. and they were empty at the end of the game against the steelers and will be empty this week. i am talking about bailey dropping a pretty much game-sealing INT and mcgahee coughing one up in the own half of play. when they had the chance to drive for the game-winning score with ~3 minutes left, they couldnt do it. yes they won it on overtime, but that was one perfect playcall and a nice stiff arm. a tackle there and it wouldve been first down at the -45 or so. bottom line: of course this will be no walk in the park, but the pats have more to fight for than the broncos when you think about it and the broncos are an inferior team.

texans ravens will be a tough one to watch from an offensive standpoint. could be something like 16-16 or so, lots of FGs. but the texans will go on and win it. ravens are not the good team everyone is making them. flacco is an average QB in this league and if they are forced to throw for some reason, they will not make it.

CHECK BACK NEXT WEEK AND CALL ME PROPHET.

see thats what I don't get, everyone is on Flacco's dick about how good he is and how they will roll over the Texans...doesn't he have just one maybe two playoff wins? which is just as much as rookie T.J Yates for the Texans....Flacco chokes hard in big games, and the Texans D looked amazing against cincy...and there is no doubt in my mind that the Texans offensive line and Arian Foster can carry they through the playoffs.

how do you like crennel?

serious, just askin. i mean i know how most chargers fans wanted norv to go and stuff, but i am not sure how the chiefs fans felt about haley.

he's cheap and he's better than an other option, marty wants to much money cowher wants too much control, fisher is goinng to stl or mia so theres not any better option, the players love him idk if thats good or not

Not many people are on Flacco's dick... in fact, I live in Maryland, and nobody here really thinks he's that amazing. It's all about Ray Rice. Also, last year in the loss to the Steelers, Flacco was very good in the final drive. If it weren't for TJ Houshmandzadeh's dropped pass, we could've won it. And also, let's just keep in mind that Baltimore dominated the Steelers the first game, the Jets, the Texans, and the 49ers. In the 49ers game, we didn't outscore them by a whole lot, but we didn't make any mistakes on offense, and our defense dominated them, so I was basically never worried about losing. Oh, and finally, the Ravens are 8-0 at home this season, along with only the Saints and the Packers. The game I'm worried about is the Patriots game, away.

At least the Ravens had better not lose this game, this is a very good opportunity at the Superbowl.

The only stuff I don't agree with is this "more to fight for" bullshit. Every pro football player wants a Super Bowl ring more than anything in the world. That's how simple their drive to win is. The whole "Tebow just WANTS to win" thing is just as stupid. Everyone is out there busting ass and leaving it out there to win.

Except maybe Terrell Owens back in the days that he wouldn't practice, haha.

of course but brady wants that 4th ring because it will help him to end this brady/manning discussion pretty much.

the broncos reached everything they possibly could.

but maybe i am wrong, who know, i just expect the broncos to be a little empty.

hyped for the game

Bummed the Saints lost. Drew Brees is one of my favorite dudes in the NFL. But Im definitely not a 9ers hater, sick to see a team turn it around like they have.

Brady is amazing, how do you stop them when he has two crazy good tight ends and if you cover them he has all the confidence in the world with his wide outs.

49ers showed up. and although they didnt really cash in offensively on a lot of good field positions during the course of the game, the offense came through when the defense failed.

with that "added" dimension of the 49ers (meaning that they drove the length of the field twice in the last minutes) and their well-recognized strenghts (GREAT run D & pass rush, solid run game) they will be a legit candidate for the NFC championship, no matter who wins packers/giants.

as i said a while earlier (10 jan), the broncos just couldnt do horseshit. they are not good away from home first and foremost and just didnt look like a playoff team at all. still convinced that they had this emotional moment against the steelers and they just couldnt do it yesterday. was quite clear to me and i was right.

pumped for the games today. i expect the texans D to take over this thing. also wouldnt be surprised if the giants win. they can pressure rodgers with 4 and rodgers will show that he cant throw the ball away and takes too many sacks. bold prediction right THUR. anyone can pick the packers.

The Texans defense was excellent, the inexperience of T.J Yates really showed today, if it were Schaub at QB the Texans would have won, not to take away anything from the Ravens they played great on defense and Flacco didn't make any mistakes.

This Giants Packers game should be great, so far this post season every home team (the high seed) has won, its 1 vs. 2 in the AFC Championship can't wait for the result of this one. The Giants D is healthy and the packers have Jennings back.

I don't like the Giants and I freaking hate the packers (vikings fan).

As much as I hate the packers a Rodgers vs Brady superbowl would be awesome.

ravens played indeed good D. jones muffed punt really made a difference though.

ravens have some clock management/playcall/decision issues and have to play better next time or they are out. barely hanging on against a rookie-QB-led, injury-depleted team with 4 turnovers is not exactly a great performance.

seriously, 4-0 turnovers and the texans were in the game until 0:11 left? they have to play better on offense. i am not sure how much the ravens can limit brady and co, but its quite hard to imagine that the patriots will put up less than 25-30 pts. and i am not sure if the ravens can match that. patriots showed that they can play the run against tebow and as far as i am concerned, flacco wont kill nobody.

I was about to say the same thing. First they let the play go that it is a fumble, then the ref changes his mind and says he was down by contact....then in clear review the ball was coming out before he was down and they still screw it up.

packers should lose this one.

so far they needed a (at least) +7 point swing by the refs and a blocked FG and are still in it despite an onside kick that was obviously a drunk decision by the ST coordinator.

normally when you go surprise onside, you go at a blocker who turns his head too soon. but the player who eventually recovered it didnt even take a single step and had it all the way.

you cant beat tim tebow with a hail mary, but you damn sure can beat the packers with one!

omg are the packers full of themselves when in reality they suck hard especially on defense. receivers arent catching too well either. first possession in the second half was VERY IMPORTANT.

close close game. giants need to cash in more when the defense makes a play.

good game to watch.

if i only could +K myself. would be deserved right now (a little -K for picking the texans though). some parts read like i would write them today, lolz /suckingowndick

packers are just not as good as anyone thinks. surely they dropped too much passes and i didnt see that coming but if the fumble was called a fumble, the giants make that possible FG you could very well be looking at a 20-3 game at the half.

and the roughing the passer penalty in the end just killed me. that is bullshit. just because youre the packers, you shouldnt get such calls. and i am not even kidding. that wouldve probably taken another 7 pts off the board, and voila, we have 14 pts DIRECTLY aided by refs.

packers just got a little cocky. the onside kick is either a desperation move or overly aggressive. seen from today, it was probably a desperation move.

the playoffs have been kind of a disappointment this year, only one game has come down to the wire and it involved Tebow winning. Hopefully Conference Championship matchups are better
