Official NFL 2011-2012 Thread

but if you look at it, broken is definitely possible. i am pretty sure that he screamed MY ANKLES ARE BROKEN in the first second.

not only got his ankle trapped and rolled awkwardly, but his upper body also got twisted from another hit. if hes lucky, something below the knee surrendered before the knee itself. and it looks like there is nothing with the knee.

this is another case for double standards: roethlisberger is hurt all the freaking time (saw that animation last night). and he has a playing style that contributes to it, extending the play and all that crap.

but if HE does it, its cool and its just unlucky and whatever.

but if vick gets hurt (this year ONLY in the pocket, btw), its because he is too "dumb" to change his playing style. bullshit double standard.

and the steelers are not very good when big ben is not extending the plays. their first, second and even third windows are easy to cover. if you can bring pressure with 4 or 5 guys, the steelers offense should be pretty easy to stop.

imo, they should have lost the game (and deservedly for that 4th and goal call). the browns were a few yards away from trying a FG three times and a drop here or an uninspired run call there prevented it. not to mention that they had 1st and goal on the 3-5 yd line to go up 10-7 with not much time left.

i would expect that the steelers will have major problems with certain teams come january. most teams can run on the steelers this year and a good passing offense will walk all over them.

yea his ankle wasn't broken

also I like Harrison but he needs to be suspended, that sort of hit has no intent other than to hurt someone, he didn't put his nose on the ball, he didn't wrapped up, he just did his usual double forearm to the face.

I'm sure he'll issue some stupid comment where he sounds like a criminal but still doesn't admit he's wrong. Like it or not the NFL is a business and this guy has a habit of lowering the quality of the product when he injures other team's key players with his illegal hits.

you were asking why the thread needed to be bumped all the time, while you're one of the main people who posts in this thread and also the first person to bump it in like 3 days. Explain to me how else you wanted your post to come across

really really gay rule. The brady one a few years ago that they showed was the worst. and even if it would have stood, that clipping penalty was weak

Marion Barber was such a waste of money. How did the Bears go from a shoe in for a playoff run to a trainwreck so fast? Freakin injuries...

its downright shocking to see how everything goes the broncos way. yes tebow wins but i have never seen so much luck in the nfl. yes, the defense keeps them in games and tebow and prater finish them off, but all the little things at the end take a fucking denver bounce. even the onside kick was STRAIGHT in four broncos hands. unbelievable. on their last drive, a missed tackle on the very first play saved them 15 seconds. mcgahee almost fumbles there at the short pass in OT but is able to hang onto it. thats just luck. a hundred times luck is still luck.

yes he wins and the team is tough to beat, but they had some stuff go their way too fans, dont forget that. sometimes teams look downright silly when you lose that fumble or get that penalty at the wrong time.

and division-wise, the chargers had to play the bears with cutler and forte (i am not sure about the raiders), thats also a little difference.

and dont come with that "hard work"-argument. every nfl player works hard or else he wouldnt even be there.

its not even something personal. i buried the chargers season long ago. but the way the broncos win is just silly.

I believe in the conspiracy against the Raiders after this game. It's just not possible for a team to get as many missed calls against them by accident as the Raiders get, especially today

Yep. I really wish the Bengals had beat the Texans so the Ravens would be at the top of the AFC. And I love how the Broncos are above the Steelers in the AFC.

and i forgot to mention that the broncos gave the bears only playmaker the goddamn football multiple times. why in the world would you kick to hester in such a game?

he made them pay once setting up the TD on his two or three returns. broncos are luckier than good, seriously.

Ok so here's my take on how Tebow is doing all this. So let's start with the facts. He has led 6 game winning/tying drives. In only two games has the game not been close, the win against the raiders and the loss against detroit. In the first 3 quarters of the game Tebow is statistically the worst QB in the NFL. In the 4th quarter Tebow is in the top three across all categories. Now how is this happening? The reason is this: the prevent defense was not designed to stop somebody with the skill set Tebow has. The prevent is used to stop deep plays and to keep people in bounds. If you watch his completions in the 4th quarter he is not throwing the ball any better, it's just that there is no defender close enough to make a play because of the prevent. And if everyone is covered he can just run. I think to stop him on these late drives teams should just play a regular defense and force Tebow to complete that deep pass or fit it in tight coverage on the sideline instead of this prevent crap where he can take 15-20 yard chunks all day long

I agree 100%. Dumb move on the Bears part switching to prevent. A regular scheme worked the whole day, why change it then?

great observation. you have to play the same style all day you have to bkitz him and make him throw that ball fast and make the right decision. the bears almost got it right though. 8 seconds less, one missed tackle less, one59 yd fg less, one stupid out of bounds run less or one fumble in ot less and its a SURE loss for the broncos. bears d just looked like they were bribed or just afraid of the last drive
