Official NFL 2011-2012 Thread

uh-huh. i got a text from my dad and my friend at 8:30 saying the trade went down. I got online and told my friend it was for two picks, one conditional. He looked it up and told me the conditions. Now either my friend knows someone in the front offices of either the Raiders or Bengals, he can predict the future, or you are just stupid and found out about it later and now denies that you may not be right in this situation.

jesus christ dude it got them the same exact place the Raiders got, nowhere, but it does make them the better team which was the debate YOU started and kept changing the criteria for based on whatever historical Raiders nuggets that you just discovered today. the thing is I don't even care who's better

That includes 6 games as a team called the Texans.

But, to be fair, yes, The Chiefs are the only team with a winning record against the Raiders.

Congrats, winner.

Great job you looked up the record. I guessed hence me saying the record "is like" 50-50. Again, how old are you? Old enough to watch Tom Flores play? Are you saying that you've seen every chiefs game ever?

Well, the Raiders have a 100% record against the chiefs this decade, so I guess that makes them the better team based on that criteria?

...and if you don't even care, then why even talk shit? And you called ME a fake fan? whut da fuck?

We aren't arguing who is better. We are saying the Chiefs blow dick right now, the trade for Palmer was a good deal, and that the Raiders should be considered the favorite to win the AFC West

The point being the Chiefs weren't always the Chiefs but the Raiders were always the Raiders so good job again on basic logic

again, Ive seen them all since the 90s and we've dominated the raiders since then, I think I wrote it pretty clearly so I think the problem is probably on your end.

When you say who cares about games you've never watched when referring to the all time series record, that sounds like you are saying that you've seen every game ever. Parallel sentence structure but I guess they don't teach basic writing and grammar out in the midwest

You realize that you haven't addressed half the points I brought up against your argument. Does this mean you give up? Because if so i would love for you to just shut up but I'll keep going. I can do this all day

Congratulations. You won from 2002-2009. The Raiders are better than the Chiefs now. Where's the evidence that contradicts that?

ok I lied I came back. that was never what the argument was because I never claimed that Chiefs were better right now or said anything even close to that. This information is even MORE readily available, all you have do is go to the previous page and see for yourself. Its funny to see two idiots feed off each other tho

Oakland fans should be glad they got Palmer instead of Orton. Im a Denver fan and Id know more than anyone on here that Orton is fucking terrible. To all the guys saying he'd be a decent QB with a good offensive line. Denver's O-line isn't that terrible. Sure it has it's problems but its by no means the greatest of our worries. Secondly, Orton has good stats but when it comes down to it he's not a play maker. When it comes to red-zone offense Orton has some of the worst stats in the league. Thats why he has good numbers and a terrible record.
Palmer on the other hand is a first rounder coming out of Cincinnati who has arguably been one of the worst franchises in the NFL in the past years. Palmer is now going to be in his prime and going to a talented Raiders team. Sounds like a good deal to me.
To the Tebow haters. Why do you hate him so much? In the past two seasons he's been the second leading rushing QB in the league behind Mike Vick which has been a total of three games. Give him a whole season and he'll easily be number one. Yes that means that Im saying that Tebow is the best rushing QB in the league. Another reason why I like him so much is because of the fact that he's a winner. All you have to do is go look at his resume which shows that the guy finds a way to win.

The thing I like about Tebow is that he finds ways to win. He's one of those die hard competitors who comes out on top of one of those broken plays. He gets the lucky plays because he creates that luck just by trying so hard. However, he still can't throw the ball for shit if the guy isn't wide open but he is for sure a better choice than Orton

I will concede to you that we started the Raiders being better than the Chiefs argument. That being said, don't lie about how you didn't argue for the Chiefs

go back to not knowing less than I do about a team that you were 'born into'

anyways enough raiders talk.

this was discussed in a different football thread today but I'm putting it here to change the subject.

my vote for best highlight reel ever

Heres something for the ladies in the thread:

actually he's my vote for best athlete to ever live

Man I wish I was born 6 years prior to when I was born just so I could witness his playing. My dad always tells me stories about barry. He blows my mind. Such a shame he retired early. I can't blame him though. He literally put the team on his back.

Yes, but very few rushing QB's translate well in the NFL. Its a type of player better suited to college ball. Look at Vick, up until last year he was a mediocre quarterback at best, he just was fast. Last year he was good, this year hes getting destroyed out there (albeit not entirely his fault). Even after his repairs, I still think Tebows mechanics are pretty poor.

Plus something about that dude just rubs me the wrong way, but thats personal hate, and unrelated to my suspicion that he wont succeed in Denver, or anywhere.

The argument about his mechanics is a very good one. The question though is if his winning attitude will make up for his poor mechanics and only time will tell that. The number one thing I like about him is that his work ethic has a huge effect on the players he plays with. I mean all you have to do is look at the amazing energy on the field when he comes on and thats a HUGE thing in this league. When you have a guy out there like that players feed off his energy, even the defense.

again Im confused BUD

The first team I checked, the Patriots, also have a winning record against the Raiders.

You have been factually wrong at least 10 times in this thread and don't ever seem to acknowledge it. I would really appreciate it would have the balls to admit it once instead of getting mad like a little kid and making completely irrelevant attacks on other teams.

I'll raise you one. he was not as good of a runner/shifty as sanders, but he excelled in every single part of being a running back. and he played on a garbage ass team

the best to ever play the position

if you don't watch the whole clip watch from 4:08-5:30ish, my favorite part is at 4:42 - payton has a wide open endzone but choose to pull inside and smash through a few browns players

he was the toughest son of a bitch ever, never ever quit and had most devastating stiff arm...I would have loved to watch him play live

I watched it, I have a feeling Im going to be watching football videos more than working today.

Ray Ray, nobody has had more power in the open field.

Adam Schefter didn't even confirm the trade until 5:00 last night and didn't disclose the conditions until today, and those conditions are not what you implied. The only response I'll acknowledge from you is, "I was wrong"

Show me a link then. The source I (very briefly) checked stated that the Raiders had a winning record against every team they've had 10+ contests against sans the Chiefs. Maybe it was old. Maybe it was just a really shitty source. maybe it wasn't counting a lot of games, who knows. I don't know. If I'm wrong, prove it instead of just trying to incite more shitfits. I thought you "didn't care" about past records anyways?

...and you have a lot of gall to talk about irrelevant attacks on other teams when you're the one who has consistently attacked my team throughout this thread, while acting all innocent and trying to pin the whole shitshow on me or something when I retaliate . You talk shit about my team, What the fuck did you expect? Me to agree with you?

If you're going to talk shit about my team, I'm going to talk shit about the team you so claim to be a fan of - The Chiefs... although, you seem to be more of a Raider Hater than a fan of any particular team it seems... since you keep claiming you "don't care". Yet somehow I'm the "fake fan" and the "fucking idiot". What a joke.

haha I can't believe I never knew Harrison was called the 'silverback'. I have him pretty much equal with Ray, the differene being ray is better in the open field and Harrison is far better getting through blockers.

Also Im glad they included the fan slam, that was the ultimate "it is what it is" moment.

Haha yeah I agree, 2 different play styles and 2 of the best overall linebackers in the game. Being a Steelers fan its hard to admit, but Lewis is just nasty..... he surprises me every year by coming back in playing very well.

Im curious to see how long he will stay in the league.

yea I do expect you to agree with the shit Im saying about your team as its the general tone of most Raiders fans and analysts right now.

Heres the link jerkoff, pretty weak to throw in a +10 game disclaimer after the fact, but even still you remain wrong.

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/rai/head-to-head.htm

Patriots, Ravens, Jaguars, Texans.

Now throw in your most recent claim about the Raiders having a WINNING record against all other teams and we can add 49ers, Packers, Saints, Bears, Panthers, and Eagles.

So should we count this as you being wrong 10 times or just once for this bullshit?

The difference between me and you is I know enough about it to not get emotionally involved, look at people who cover the league proffesioanlly, they're not really rabid fans now are they? You however don't know shit about your own team but pretend like 'caring' about the outcome makes you a legit fan.
