Official NFL 2011-2012 Thread

They gave up one. The other is a conditional first round pick. If he meets those conditions and they give up the first round pick I have absolutely no problem with that

I'm hoping Detroit can retaliate and win big this weekend. Sunday was a bad game. Pocket collapses, Double to triple coverage on our receivers. Just overall shitty playing. There were some bad calls too but I'm not gonna get into that.

I'm hoping they practice hard and capitalize off of their mistakes and play good against ATL.

Yeah I feel a little embarrassed. Schwartz could of handled the situation way better. It did look like harbaugh excessively pushed him out of the way. It was stupid. Hes still a good coach IMO.

Ok so now the question becomes what should the Raiders do and what will they do? I like Campbell but Palmer is just so much better. Do they resign Campbell? Do they resign Palmer? What happens if Campbell is ready to play in 6 weeks? I hope they resign Palmer to a two year deal and they start using Pryor in a wildcat like formation but with the threat of actually being able to throw the ball. They slowly start getting Pryor ready to take over and when the two years after this year are up, Pryor becomes the starter. Will they resign Campbell? Probably and they will probably let Palmer go unless he lights it up every game which he definitely has the ability and the weapons around him to do.

Whut da fack?

I thought all of it was total jokes... 2 first rounders though? facking hell...

...he better be worth it, that's all I can say.

Palmer's legit. The only reason he did so poorly last year with the bengals was because our o-line last year sucked a fat one. He was getting beat the hell up and had no time to throw the ball.

..I know he's legit, but only if he plays to his potential. He fits in very well with the style of passing game the raiders have, but it all comes down to getting him ready.

Right now, the rock is goin to Boller.

...Lol, this is still so Oakland. I'm not surprised there. Just surprised Mike Brown let homie go (2 firsties is pretty hard to say no to, though)

Speed can't be taught or trained, really. That shit's innate lol.

...that said, I'm surprised the Raiders haven't made an offer to Usain Bolt.

hahahhahaha I litterally just watched 4 different football analysts saying the EXACT opposite of this, apparently he was 27th in the league in passes over 15 yards and the Raiders are known for going deep. seriously where do your information, do you get it from anywhere or just type? I'm not even trying to be a dick anymore I'm legitimately confused why you post in here.

Not entirely true lol

2005 was his best TD throwing year, if that's what you're getting at, but he had 3 seasons after '05 where he threw for more yards. I'd be plenty happy with last year's Carson Palmer, really... seeing as we'll still be running the ball more often than not anyways.

If Palmer continues playing his typical 60-65% Completion Percentage, He'll be fine.

That was because he was throwing to old men *cough* Chad Johnson *cough* Terrell Owens. Also they had no o line. How are you going to throw it deep if you don't have enough time for your team to run a five yard route? The Raiders statistically are tied for the best O line in the league in terms of sack but once you throw in they lead the league in rushing you can pretty much say that they are the best O line in football right now. So now that Palmer has time, three of the fastest receivers in football, a massive tight end, a receiver turned fullback coming out of the back field, not to mention the rushing attack, he will light it up.

2005 was when they actually had receivers. They had Chad JOHNSON, TJ Houshmenzada, and Chris Henry and they had a running game still. After that people left. O line went downhill, no running game, old man Johnson and Owens dropping balls everywhere. it's not his fault and he did play one year with an elbow injury in his throwing arm so that's why it has dropped

the league primarily the chiefs. hate the raiders and patriots

Raiders way overpaid for a washed up and broken qb. idk why you keep bringing up his elbow as if thats something positive.

Ah and the truth comes out. We got ourselves a Chiefs fan. It all makes sense now why you're so angry. The chiefs blow. What was it? 84 points allowed over the first 2 games? Have fun with that. For what Palmer should be able to do in the Raiders offense they didn't overpay. And the elbow thing is one reason why his numbers went down. He hasn't played in over a year and is now healthy. I kept bringing it up because you kept bringing up his numbers dropping. He's healthy and ready to play.

Raiders will smash the Chiefs this Sunday

I havent really been hiding it and making fun of a group of men I have nothing to do with isn't going to hurt my feelings. I'm not emotionally attached like you are to the Raiders, its that emotion thats preventing you from realizing your team's management is one of the worst in the league over the last decade. its a systematic problem and today is just the latest example. I'll make it simple for you, they gave up two number one pics and in exchange they got less than half of one first rounder, they paid $2.00 to get about 35 cents. all so they can contend for a wildcard? you should be pissed, but at least you'll (maybe) always have the memory of winning that historic October 23rd matchup of two non divison leaders.

is this supposed to make sense? the wording is confusing and seems like you quoted the wrong post or something. anyway the comparison is wrong again, you suck at this

http://www.nfl.com/standings?category=div&season=2011-REG&split=Overall

check that out and you'll see that yea the chiefs had some bad years but the raiders were always right there with them. on the other hand the chiefs have had some good years and the raiders are not right there with them.

Chiefs have also been to the playoffs THREE times since the Raiders were last there and have won the division twice since the Raiders last won it.

you are so bad at this man, the other guy at least has some knowledge, idk how else to say it but you just suck at this thread

If we are living in the past, then the Raiders have been to the super bowl 4 times, and won it 3 times since the last time the Chiefs were there. That's all that matters.

Come back with that yammer about yesteryear bullshit next time the Chiefs actually do jack squat... You guys haven't even won a playoff game since the Raiders were in Los Angeles.

so you're just generally stupid? you said epitome of consistent failure or something which I responded to.

If you want to compare the past then, neither teams will win the superbowl, neither teams will win the division, neither team will win a playoff game, and theres a 99% chance neither team makes the playoffs. Like I said you guys will (maybe) always have that historic October 28th victory but thats about it.

glad to see you finally looked something up tho even if it was another weak shot about something I don't really care about.

Hey how did you become such a great fan anyway? I'm really curious as to why you would live in the bay area, be around my age, yet like a team that was in LA when you should have started watching football?

Again they gave up ONE first round pick. The second draft pick is conditional. If the Raiders win one playoff game this year then it becomes a first round pick and i'd say that is a fair trade. And the Raiders are going to win the division. The Chargers have had a schedule that my highschool football team could beat up to this point. The Raiders have had one in division game. They are going to run the AFC West again. They play Green Bay and Detroit and those are the only two games left that actually scare me. Who is left after that? Miami can't beat them. Minnesota blows. Chicago's O line is so bad that Cutler won't have any time and Forte is incredibly inconsistent this year. The Raiders will win the division and have a chance to go 12-4 which will probably be enough to win the AFC. It would be a weak 12-4 but so what. It's still 12-4.

Dude are you fucking retarded? Have you even bothered to look at the schedule? You really think San Diego will win the division after beating such teams as Minnesota, Denver, and your very own Chiefs? I think you just lost this whole thing for believing that. The Raiders will win the division hands down. And the Raiders wasted money on a bad QB and have bad management? How much did they give Matt Cassel who had one lucky year in the best offensive system in football? I thought you actually knew a little about football but you just like to argue, don't you? I mean holy shit are you serious?

well I didnt realize that apparently it only came out a couple hours ago and isn't offical. So they paid a $1.50 for 35 cents, still sucks

you can talk about the playoffs when they make them, right now its week 7

I'd say that not winning a playoff contest since the Bills last made a superbowl is about as close as you can get to the epitome of failure. That's what I was getting at. The Raiders haven't done squat since 2002, sure... but it's not like the Chiefs making the playoffs 3 times in that time means anything either.

... as for my story of being a Raider fan? Do you really care lol? Dad grew up about 4 blocks from Frank Youell field in Oakland. He lived/worked in Southern California through the 80's and remained a fan. I was born into that.

And Dingo brings up good points he just isn't following football as closely as I do but then again i follow football like it's a religion

hahah wtf when did I mention either Matt Cassel or the Chiefs Management?

All I said over the past 10 years the Chiefs have a better resume, and since I've been born the Chiefs have won more games.

Haha, it was hilarious. I just like Jim because he's John Harbaugh's bro. But Jim so far is a fantastic coach, the way he has turned the 49ers around is amazing. Both of the Harbaughs are fantastic coaches.

Nice trying to cover your ass but it came out this morning when the deal went through. I got a text message at 9 in the morning telling me the conditions from one of my friends. I'm just saying that there is no way San Diego gets 10 wins this season and barring some huge meltdown, if the Raiders don't get at least 10 wins it will be a disappointment

Lets stop living in the past dude. It's really not going to get you anywhere here. The Chiefs haven't done anything since before we landed on the moon.

so you were talking about the past then say you aren't talking about the past then say you are talking about the past, makes sense.

thats a hardcore story bro, so did you ever live there or just 'dad'?

I'm talking shit about the Chiefs fan who proved himself to be an idiot. I'm talking shit about the Chargers because Phillip Rivers whines everytime there is an incomplete pass and that there is no way the Chargers will win the AFC West this year because they even though they won they looked shaky against the 1-5 Vikings and the 1-4 Broncos.

He's not talking shit. He's just saying that claiming they're going to win the AFC west at this point and that the Raiders wont is a crock of crap based on the quality of competition the Chargers have defeated at this point. The AFC west is still very much up in the air at this point.

I grew up here. as you can see it's in fairly close proximity to Oakland.

we've beat the raiders 30 times out of 48 since the 90s thats good enough to win whatever stupid argument you keep trying to carry on about who's team is better. and we dominated them in the 90's which was the last time I was immature enough to get wrapped up in the lives of people I don't even know and attach them to my own personal worth.
