Official NFL 2011-2012 Thread

^^^i agree with all the notions about mccoy deserving more touches as he is a great great back.

they are far from a super bowl team right now, but individual mistakes cost them at least three games. and i am not sure if you can fix the tackling aspect very easily within the season with all the restrictions the CBA has on full pads practices.

i thought they actually played better against the bills overall and especially better in the second half. early in the game, jackson ran right over them and they got burned for huge yards on every screen.

but they did make some stops and actually kept the offense in the game when avant lost that fumble on the own 30 and they kept them to a FG.

its definitely like the chargers last year. they are a top team but make too many mistakes that cost them at some point in the game. they should still be at 4-1 with all those mistakes, but the margin for error just gets so small that eventually it looks like "the D cant get a stop" or the "offense isnt balanced enough".

when they play a mistake free game (i am not even talking about tackling as i dont think thats a "mistake" but can be attributed to the offseason issues), they can beat anybody. and they have to do it right now. they have still 5 division games left. if they win all of them i guess they could still win the division without external help.

i admit that i am biased, because i like vick as he is one of 2 guys (FOR ME) in the league who make you watch a game of a team that you arent a real fan of and who let you root for their team. newton is the other one right now.

but you look at the jets (for example) who were considered a AFC contender. they were a good running team and a good run D. right now, they are neither. they are not making silly mistakes turnover-wise or penalty-wise but still lose games in a very uninspired way. imo their future looks worse than the eagles even though they sit at 2-3. you know what i mean, that spark, the feeling that they can win a fucking game, that someone is on that squad capable of winning the game by himself, thats the difference to me between the eagles and the jets.

absolutely correct. you have to work hard and not be like "yeah those are issues that will solve themselves". but then again, two times bad luck is still bad luck. three times bad luck is still bad luck and not a fundamental problem.

the giants looked bad, yes, but until a eagles-type-of blunder they were still in the game and everybody would be like "they know how to finish games" if that drive ends in a TD.

overall: i dont like the fact that youre hyping teams up or down because of one bounce, one play or one referee decision that really changed the game. rarely is a team as good as all think or as bad as all think.

NO should really lose that game against the panthers imo, but just because they escaped with a close win and that panthers DB doesnt make that pick are they a better team? what if they lose and drop 5 places in the power rankings because of one missed FG?

BOTTOM LINE: media hypes teams way too much and a little more seriousness would help anybody.

Lollerskating all over the place. HAHAHAHAHA. hysterical. Dude takes more sacks than anyone in the game and keeps playing. Its called trying to get a call.

That being said, this game is painful. Bears staff as usual with godawful play calling, and late play calling. And an abysmal O-Line. Some things never change. Lets just hope the Lions keep playing like emotional idiots and getting stupid fouls :D

Lol. Its part of the game. Learn to play it. Maybe thats why before the last 8 games the Lions were 5 and 47.

nfl is more enjoyable when teams with a lot of history like detroit are good. also, the thanksgiving game should be watchable for the first time in a decade

The Chicago Bears might have the worst staff/management in the NFL. Seriously, they are the only team in the league who wont let their QB manage from the field, 0 audibles. On top of that, we are the only team in the league who doesn't have a tight whose a good receiver. Again, every other team has one, Jerry Angelo lets Greg Olsen go for a future draft pick. Along with that we draft some old, lousy washed up players while leaving an absolutely abysmal O-line virtually unaltered. And now the idiot will probably let Forte go in the off season, even though the dude has gotten HALF of all the Bears offense this year. Cutler haters are idiots, what the Bears need to do is clear out the front office and some coaching staff.

The bears should start playing a few games at the Silverdome again soon... 80k seats could easily be filled...

Pretty soon after that, they might as well start playing in Michigan stadium too...

yeah it was really a dumb thing to say. i am pretty sure he didnt mean it to big such big of an issue, but it was clear they would exaggerate it.

i mean ONLY if they won every game by 20 points, everybody would shut up about that dream team thing. in all other cases, this thing would be mentioned 4 times per game and in every other eagles article on nfl.com (and one of these cases is right now).

or the phrase "the nightmare goes on"...

Eh both teams played equally as shitty. The niners gave up like 100 yards in penalties and there was some bad calls. That last TD San Fran one should of been ruled not in IMO.

Oh well. I'll take 5-1. If we win the next games up to thanksgiving, We should have a shot at making the wild card.

Seeing as Oakland runs the ball like 75% of the time, I'm not exactly that worried.

Who knows... maybe we can sign Carson Palmer now? LOL.

I'd like David Garrard... I don't have a clue why Jacksonville would have let him go... He's surely better than many starters in the league...

I think his skillset would be pretty similar to that of Campbell, as well... though he's not as tall, I'd argue he's a bit more mobile... and doesn't have as strong of an arm... Perhaps no worse for accuracy, however.

lol at questioning paid professionals who were around the guy every day, hes a bum. the raiders aren't going to get any better by having their starting qb taken out so stop trying to spin it that way it makes no sense.

the worst thing is they have the talent to be great.....they just need a leader on the field...its a tought life being a vikings fan haha :(

Look at his career stats. Not that awful dude. You don't become a starting QB in the NFL and throw for 16000 yards in your career if youre a bum. The Jags are just as retarded as you believe the Raiders to be...

Either way, you seem to forget that I'm riding a high, i'm stoked on my team, and we've been winning. I'm reserved to my confidence - I haven't had any like this in like 9 years. Give me a break.

well that talent thing got old fast in MIN. on offense its pretty much peterson and harvin which are above-average players when healthy. oline cant pass protect or runblock so rebuilding mode officially enabled. 5 years until the next winning season for the vikings.

D is not bad but definitely not great this year.
