Official NFL 2011-2012 Thread

I really don't care about who wins what divisions.

Jets Pats Steelers Ravens / Eagles Falcons Packers

Those are the only teams that have a shot in hell of winning the super bowl.

7 Teams is still a pretty fun NFL season though
 
Ravens are the darkhorse in the bunch as it stands. Chargers are just weak everywhere. The Ravens are resilient and find ways to win games. The Chargers just squander opportunities and are one of the worst playoff teams this decade.

Rivers is a beast. Gates is good but I'd bet money he misses at least a game or reduced play time due to injury. Besides Floyd the recievers aren't going to be enough just like last year.

Ryan mathews is a joke. Failed his conditioning test and shows zero signs he can take over the rushing role and Tolbert is a 3rd down/goaline back not a workhorse to carry the rushing game.

That isnt totally true. No ammount of trades / aquistions could save the 'Skins or Panthers but teams that have been good but just not quite good enough like the Eagles, Falcons, Jets, Chargers than yeah it does matter a lot.
 
Oh yea I definitely agree with you on that; I wasn't talking about teams like the Eagles or Jets who seem to be in NFC and AFC title games year after year
 
damn, the raydaz couldn't pull it off tonight. still showed some promise, like in the i believe 2nd quarter our 2nd string D made a goal line stand on the 1. and i liked rookie denarius moore, he could be big in the future. silky smooth bay-bay.

also, fuck max hall getting the winning TD pass. he is a mormon, went to BYU, and is probably a damn virgin. must say, not impressed with the man.

Lots of players switching to different teams this season and who knows how the quality of football will be with teams not getting a ton of practice time with each other before the start of the season. Anyways time for my predictions

Come on be real. Vikings stand no chance. Vikings will be the worst in their division and I'd bet money on that. McNabb is done. Sidney Rice is gone, so Shancoe is gonna carry the passing game? Yea right. Donovan is past his prime and was a desperate answer at the QB position. He struggled with one of the best QB Head caoches in the league. The D-line their former strong point is aging and I'd be suprised to see the production they have had recently. AP Can't do it on his own.

I like the other picks but Chiefs? For real? Chargers are clearly better than the chiefs. Their passing game will be top 5 in the league. Floyd, Jackson, Gates, are undeniable supreme and Rivers was the best passer in the game last year with more limited options. Their run game is weak but no way can the special teams be nearly as bad as they were last year. Impossible.

Texans in WC? For real? No love for the Jets? Texans have an awesome offense for sure. But they didnt do nearly enough to address the secondary flaws. They will still be bottom 3rd if not bottom 4 in pass defense again this year. In additon I see Foster's production diminish now that there is more film of him.

Due to the lack of pracitce it is clear the supreme teams from last year will once again rise to the top.

you know Sproles is gone right? The Chargers running game and special teams are gonna be way worse while the Chiefs could very well have the number 1 rushing game again this year
 
Yeah Sproles is gone but I don't think the run game will be that much worse. I trust Tolbert, Mathews is garbage but I hope he proves me wrong. Chargers will be fine without a dominating run game. What I mean by poor special teams is not their return game. I mean they had 4 blocked punts and gave up 3 kickoffs for a touchdown plus numerous big returns. Those sloppy special teams plays early in the year cost them their season.

Chiefs will have a dominating run game but they arent going to be all that impressive, their passing game is really limited to just Dwayne Bowe and their defense is hardly something to brag about. Reminds me of what Carolina used to be and they didnt exactly rule the NFL.
 
i think mathews can very well take some of sproles responsibility. and the kick return game wont take a hit. sproles was a good returner, but teams didnt kick to him at all. i know this also gives you good field position but eliminates any chance of breaking a big one.

if you want to talk about anything on the chargers, please not on the offense. you saw rivers yesterday? this guy is a top3 passer right now and the chargers will put up 25+ points per game as long he is upright. and they have also a top-notch backup in volek (considering the skill set a backup should have). so the offense wont be a problem. the defense also, as long as the new coordinator doesnt fuck shit up (although i dont think that they will be ranked in the top5).

and its really hard to see ST break down like last year. and just two blunders less (which would still be a fucked up campaign) and the chargers easily win two games more.

ok i am a fan, but the team is very good and rivers is good. the fact that he hasnt been to a super bowl has nothing to do with HIS quality. he did everything he could over the last few years.
 
I hate it when people bring up past accomplishments to argue for today's arguments.

Here is my 2¢, Chiefs and Chargers will battle for first in the AFC West the whole season. Because where one team lacks the other team succeeds. Until a single NFL game is played (Regular Season), You can't say which team is better.
 
I'll let you know I am a vikings fan so there is some amount of bias to that, but I do believe they have a legitimate shot at doing it...donovan mcnabb is the key part, he is a QB that has played in 3 nfc championship games and one superbowl...last year was the bottom for him...i mean he was basically kicked out of philly...a qb with a chip on his shoulder to prove everyone in the league wrong is exactly what I'd want on my team.

The vikings drafted kyle rudolph this season to play TE along with shaineco...rudolph has looked very impressive during camp and using 2 TE's with percy it will take pressure off of trying to find that number one receiver right away...its a new system this year with a new coach...number one focus will go back to getting AP the amount of touches per game...not let Brett Favre chuck it around the field.

Chargers choke, they choke every single year...kansas city is on the rise, if jammal charles is healthy all season he is the reason they win that division.

The Jets? I'm a 100% born and raised vikings fan...and I'd rather watch the packers win the superbowl 6 years in a row than see the jets win one.
 
wait what? I would understand if you were a packers fan cheering against the jets bc of favre or something but where is the vikings jets rivalry coming from??

I'm not saying there is a vikings jets rivalry...im saying I just straight up hate the jets as a fan...just like I do hate the packers so I said I could handle the pack winning the super bowl over the jets.

I just hate Rex Ryan and Sanchez...they are cocky as fuck, I can't wait for the Pats to rock em.
