Official Newschoolers' Top 10 Hip Hop Albums of 2012 Thread

fair enough. i more like the underproduced stuff Stones Throw does. but i respect where you're at. civil debate indeed.

oh for sure, when im feeling good ill usually pop on born to die, or some wu-tang or something. But if i dont feel like actually listening to the rhymes ill listen to MGK or Mac Miller or something, its up beat and defiantly doesn't take a lot of effort to listen to.

yeah beats are mostly where its at for me. i definitely dig Dr. Dre for his beats. His lyrics are weak but G-funk has a special place in my heart.

and not a single fuck was given. J Cole is righteous, nuff said. also, i feel your validity in these discussions has been revoked.

either you're 12 or socially handicapped. either way, good luck with Rosey Palm and her sisters for the rest of your life.

This^ Except I would put Odd Future as 1. only because I'm a big fan, and I enjoy Earl's part in Oldie better than any hip-hop/rap song I've ever heard.

>Doesn't give a fuck that someone posted album not in 2012 in 2012 thread>Suddenly gives a fuck, catches feelings and implies my age and why I jerk off out of no where

Was it the not acting like myself at all part or the other part

I'm worried about my NS rep/karma :(

Well lI do not give a shit either way because it is the internet after all. A very small portion of my life is affected by it. I just thought I would let you know you appear quote foolhardy this evening.

The stupidity in this comment is seeping through my computer screen.. You SUCK at arguing and comebacks all together. Pay attention more in social environments and learn to interact with other human beings. Whether it be a positive or negative situation, at least you may learn a thing or two about how to formulate a solid well backed argument.

and yes... mocking can make you look like a fucking ass clown.

Usually.

I don't understand. Who is/are this MGK you all speak of? And how is OF and Mac Miller mentioned on a list like this?

As for myself, I can't really say if an came out in 2011 or 2012, so I'm just going to list stuff that are somewhat recent.

1. The Roots - undun 10/10

2. Common - The Dreamer/The Believer 9/10 The Believer

3. Trainspotters - Dirty North 8/10 Can't Stop

4. Atmosphere - The Family Sign 8/10 The Last To Say

I can't really think of more than that. I don't really listen to entire albums that often, and if I do, they're usually older.

Stalley- savage journey to the american dream

Big K.R.I.T. - 4Eva N A Day

Schoolboy Q- habits and contradictions

spaceghostpurpp - god of black II

Le1f- forget what the albums called

Lil B- gods father

Action Bronsons new album (i think that was this year)

Rockie fresh- driving 88

MondreMAN- M A N // R E M I X E D

Too soon for this especially when life's good is dropping next month Nas.com to be out soon after and the high possibility of man on the moon volume 3 being released later this year

i'd have to agree but doom is no slacker behind the beats either; dude's produced some of my favourite instrumentals

Way too soon... 4 months in son.

That said, in the past year, the sickest album released was Therapy at 3 by Eligh & Amp Live. Check this:

Has nobody mentioned food&liquor 2 yet? I don't have really high hopes but as long as it's not like lasers I'll be happy. Also AOTP has a new album comin out this year, it should be fire

I have super high hopes! Lupe is amazing! Great lyrics, he's trying a little too hard to be a political figure for being part of the 1% that he hates so much though. Still I can't wait! Friend of the People was amazing.
