I built my own rig, I have the best computer setup out of anyone I have ever met in person, and the best of anyone I have seen online that is also my age.

I could assemble a computer in less than an hour, and know my way around Windows, Various Linux distros, and OS X.

I do hours upon hours when ever I buy shit, I am knowledgeable in nearly any aspect of technology, and am a tripfag on /g/.

Do I qualify?

In my college apparently being nerdy as fuck is super cool.

Kids play yugioh in the canteen. They're fucking 20 years old and think they're all uppity because of it.

They also skip class to all crowd around a laptop watching the latest anime.

40 year old virgins in the making yeyyy.

Yet having said that, I'm studying CompSci with them so I myself am a tad nerdy. I get enjoyment out of programming and play the odd game from time to time.
 
^ People just need to find a balance. It's completely easy to still be normal and enjoy all the awesome nerdy aspects of life! My college is just like that but because me and my dormate are normal were able to hang with literally everyone.. the nerds, the jocks, the stoners, the party'ers. You just have to keep everything in moderation.
 
I have been interested in Bitcoin for awhile now just haven't had the time to delve into it.

Yeah DeepWeb can be pretty disappointing. Pretty much only used for buying drugs and CP it seems. Unless I am just not connected enough to know how to get around.
 
So today i was minding my business, playing my 70 twink and I see another 70 twink named edollo, did the NS call out successfully. Feels good to know I can still manage to find NSers in a game with 12+ million players. /nerd

I was just wondering if anyone has had any luck getting a linux distro to run on the MBP retina? I know that the battery life is better running it virtually but I would still rather get this going on metal!

 
Yep, tried with a few distros, mainly fedora and ubuntu. Got them running perfectly at 1440x900 but at 2880x1800 it's pretty much unusable.
 
I wouldn't want it at 2880x1800 anyways. pretty interested in how you got ubuntu working. was it just the regular 12.04? I tried that and it wasn't working great at all.
