Never wear shorts.

or any mountain bike clothing.

thick black carhartts all the way.

Jerseys are mad wack imo but I got those baggy fox shorts that look nice and baggy. It’s way too hot to ride in pants for trails you gotta pedal.

Bike park and dirt jumps i agree, I got some thick work Levi’s that take a beating. Plus baggy carhart shirt always.

Fair enough, ig i just only ride dh and push the dh bike up when the lifts not spinning.

a lot of the older fox stuff does actually go hard

Walmart floral button down shirt

Walmart stretchy blue jeans

I unironically get compliments wearing this at bikeparks. No clue why, I'm really just too broke for $100 pants and jerseys.

If you're pedalling a lot, get some padded shorts from amazon or something, actual game changer.

I wear my gravel/road bib shorts under my baggies all the time, great for comfort and "saves" money because I don't have to additionally get any inner shorts. Bike-specific clothes are expensive though, no denying it. But agree you can wear literally whatever, especially if you aren't on some mega XC sweatfest.

Loving this upgrade (Juliana Joplin aka a SC Tallboy) from my Hei Hei Al. It has done wonders for my progression on features. Sold the latter to my friend, the best kind of sale!

Went to Whistler for the long weekend. Definitely missed having Fitz, and shoving 4 people and bikes in the gondola kinda sucks. Stoked to get back up there once Garbanzo and Creekside are going! Nothing gets the jumps back like a few on A line

What’s the general conscious of riding in rain. Is it okay? Don’t mind getting muddy but also don’t want to mess up trails

so i bought a used Evil Offering in feb of 2022 then i broke my collarbone in April come june or july when i was cleared to ride I took my bike in to get the suspension set up for me and then they found a soft spot in the frame so the people I bought it from warrantied it probably got it back late july or early august but since i bought the bike 3 friends died and got that divorce and never rode my bike. Then yesterday I finally got the suspension set for me and this was my actual first time riding my first 29er and this is my first bike with gears ? certainly not on my bmx or slope but stoked to rip the resort ~4 times a week on this bad boy

just get the seals find a video how to replace them I took the whole fork apart and put took 40mm of travel out. I also carelessly break shit all the time and never fix it. I've serviced a few forks and shocks myself and it was easier than most

How does one corner better on the real real tight berms?

I don't have any issue when it comes to something like this

But when it's a full 180° like this

I find myself just about shooting off the top by the time I get to the exit.

Enter higher

this - and look with your head way up/out to where the exit is, feels kind of awkward at first turning your neck so much but the bike will go where you look with your body

Has anyone regretted going from a lyrik to a zeb? For a bike that gets pedaled up 95% of the season

What bike? I'd probably stick to the Lyrik. Or get something in-between thats 36mm stanchions. The weight on the front is going to change both the handling and the climbing. My Ibis HD3 came with a 38mm stanchions fork and i could feel immediately that it would handle better with a 35 or 36mm fork that weighs less

This is on a 160/170 giant reign, technically not a lyrik but a yari w/ rc2 damper so I'm not sure how much the weight difference would be (yari's heavier? idk)

On a reign you could definitely get away with a Zeb, but I'd only do it if you feel like you're bothered by/if youre feeling the flex in the Lyrik. The Lyric and Pike are both 35mm stanchions. I think the Lyrik just has a stiffer crown and lowers? Cant remember honestly. But id still stick with the Lyrik, especially since you're mostly pedaling.

Have learned how to manual small table tops and some tiny doubles sorta kinda.

Doing that shit on flat shit feels impossible but I'm probably just being a pussy about leaning back

Yo I’m trying to install a tubeless dh casing tire and it’s the first time I’ve had a dh casing tire and I just can’t get the bead to set. Any tips or should I just take it to a bike shop?

ive done it with a floor pump, if trying to pump it up reallt hard and fast wont work you can put soapy water along the rim to help it slip on. if you have access to shop nearby and dont wanna waste time on it i bet they wouldnt even charge for them to do it

Finally able to ride my Evil Offering which is my

first enduro bike and first real bike. Got 11 days in a row at the bike park and feeling pretty good out there. Huge learning curve on tech trails lol. But getting some sends in on the flow trails for

sure. My cornering has gotten much better as I was super far back before but overall I still corner like a slow lil bitch. Any suggestions?

This may be one of the worst ways to explain it but here she goes:

It's *kinda* like skiing pow, were you can't lean on your edges and expect the sidecut to initiate the turn. You point your knees and body in the direction you'd like to go, then the skis follow.

If you expect to turn a bike without proper body position, you'll almost always get scared, grab the brake, and pull back on the bars. This will stand the bike up and unweight the front where bestcase you botch a line and worst case the front washes out and you hit the dirt faster than you'd ever imagine.

If you have your knees and bellybutton pointed into the turn (leaning the bike helps) and you're looking thru the turn and out the exit, what will happen is the front wheel will 'dig' into the turn. As you turn sharper, you will notice more weight on your arms naturally because your body wants to continue forward while the tire digs into the dirt as it is being turned.

You will not feel this sensation as much if the bike isn't leaned over. The more you lean the bike, the more the front tire is 'turning into' the ground instead of skipping on to of it. The more you dig the front tire via an agressive bike lean (not body lean this ain't motogp) the more you're body will get pressed into the bars and you'll rail turns and schralp berms with confidence like you never imagined.

Tldr: look where you're going, stay off the brakes when your turning, and lean the bike.

Also, I think Jeff Kendell Weed has a good YouTube video on cornering
