Pete - are there going to be flaps on the standard skate denim? And are you guys going to be making pants in a size 30 like you did with the summer shorts?
Totally understand. With our shopatron system we take orders and the closest retailer fulfills that order so the shipping rates had to be setup for what other retailers want to charge. If no retailer has the item in stock we ship it. Since the Summer and Fall stuff was not offered to many retailers we fulfilled most of those orders and the system was only setup for US retailers at that time (hence the big international charges). This winter shipping should be less for international orders since hopefully a retailer in that country will be the one shipping that order and the rates will be more traditional for that country.
For clothing many have been brought up/discussed but none have moved forward at this point. We will collab with other companies on their own products but we have just been really aprehensive to move forward with anyone other than level 1 in a relationship where we make their clothing. The Level 1 guys are fam from back in the day and it has been great working with them.
I would be so stoked if you guys were to use alternative fabrics besides cotton as was said before, like that used on the Mvp, All-Over, 06/07 kelly green Level 1 collab, Sleeper, etc., as well as tighter ribbing. Why don't you?
We would probably have less stuff available but we can still do something like it each year since we release clothing 4 times a year and there will always be a few pieces left of each style + samples and some pieces that we never make after sampling them.
No, there is just Small - 4XL. The 4XL is made in smaller numbers. We still offer it but our athletes really don't even wear that size anymore. Wallisch and Hornbeck rock a 3XL in the park and a Large/XL (and an occasional medium) around town.
We have been thankful that we haven't had to do sales really. I think it is better to make less than you can sell from a branding standpoint. It maintains credibility from a consumer perspective.
On the giveaways, we really think that it cheapens the brand when it is tossed around as promotions or giveaways. We've never really done that ever either unless there was some sort of event or challenge involved.
We will probably drop them with Winter delivery 1. Production delays in Asia held us back on those. They are real sick though. The first thing Big KRIT reached for in the LoHi store was the camo 5 panel.
