Official Jiberish August Back To School Drop Thread

that was very professional. I am impressed Jiberish. You have officially stepped your game up to the level and place where i have wished for you to be.

And that camo coaches jacket made me cream my pants.

those were samples, the production isn't hemmed flat.

Though, it's actually proper to have your shirts hemmed flat if you are going to wear them untucked.

The wool 5 panel is super sick, I saw the sample at the Vault store a few weeks ago and would have instantly copped that if it wasn't only a sample! Contemplating one of those sweaters as well....need to resist the urge to spend money!!

I am putting in a formal request to jiberish:

Dear Jiberish crew,

As a long time, very dedicated customer, I have been witness to many of the changes you guys have made to the brand. The rate at which you are expanding is fantastic, and is everything I could imagine you have dreamed of. But with this expansion, I have noticed something that has began to fall away from the lime light. Specifically, the lack of the j-crown being used in almost all of your goods(save for a handull of pieces). When I think of jiberish, i think of the j-crown, and I am sure many others do. So why the lack of use? I understand having 1 logo can get kind of "stale", but many larger brands don't seem to have this issue, and continue to use their highly recognized logo. The other logos, while nice in their own rights, just don't make me think of jiberish. If I didn't know what they were, I would have no clue some of the pieces are made by you guys. So please, incorporate the j-crown more, it will make pieces look better(in my, and a few other people's opinions), and is a more distinct, recognizable design.

so much this.

the more "recognizable" names in the streetwear industry don't ever develop more than one logo. i would be very interested in having this question addressed.

Well that video actually made me NOT want the chambray shirt. Way darker/thicker looking than what I'm really looking for. Guess I just need to wait it out for that corduroy 6 panel.

why? it's the only logo people (non newschoolers) actually recognize them by. I feel like they have this sense of like supremacy now and just don't give a fuck what they make as long as they themselves like it.

Micheal Clarke is the man. Holy shit, if you dont pay attention to the jiberish clothes lookbook in there, that edit was really awesome. On point.

and I swear to god they care more about skateboarding than they ever did skiing. cool cinemtography from clichael mark but that lookbook sucked, didnt show anything except james driving an old car around (which looked really silly), a buttondown, and a few snapbacks.

so disappointed in jiberish... think I'l start buying more JSLV clothing...

BRILLIANT, let's wear coaches jackets, snapback hats, jeans, button ups, and 5 panels skiing. that sounds like a plan.
do it, you won't

haha nyles, do you hate just to hate? everything in that video was so onpoint! from the filming/editing to the way they showed off the new stuff, shit was soo classy!

The Fleur-de-J logo is a much better logo in my eyes. It's a sleek, clean, modern, yet stylish logo unlike the J-Crown. The J-Crown isn't horrible but I'd much rather where a piece of clothing with the Fleur-de-J logo.

I'm a fan of the Key as well, I think it's really simple but creative and looks good on clothing, however not as good as the Fleur J on the higher end pieces.

If Jiberish never produced another piece of clothing I would be ok with it after seeing all of the new stuff

There are some direct questions in here that I can answer for you guys.

Unfortunately I can't really get around to doing this often due to our

schedule, but I will try to on occasion since the people asking them

seem to have a sincere request for the info and I have some free time online right now. Apologies for the brevity on the answers. If I don't cut myself off I can ramble for hours on this type of stuff....

I believe that the 1 question had to do with logo use and specifically the lack of the J-Crown use:

We actually try to use that logo as little as possible on clothing.

Some brands love to use 1 logo and push it super hard. It is a logical

choice and something that helps to build identity. We don't do that and

it is just something that is done consciously. We love the J-Crown

logo and sometimes we get overly protective of it. It is why we choose

1-2 pieces a season to incorporate it but never more than that. If we

slutted that logo around it would become commonplace. It is also part of

the reason why the pieces that have it sell quickly. We design

constantly and we like to create new pieces and looks on a regular

basis. It would be a lot easier, a lot less time consuming, it would

lower our COGS and therefore increase profitability, and it would make

our clothing significantly more recognizable. So it is not as if we

aren't fully aware of the benefits from that standpoint. But those who

know us know that those things have never been reasons for the decisions

we make. We have always done things our own way and most people

probably think we were morons. That is their opinion, and in our

opinion also their mistake.

Another question had something to do with the lookbook and it not showing the clothing enough.

100% Correct. That was the idea. The goal of the video, and the reason

we are so pleased with how it came out, is that we did not want it to

be about looking at clothing in a controlled and posed environment. We

hate the cheesy product based videos that are common in the clothing industry. We wanted to make a video that transported people to a lazy

Sunday in the Fall hanging with your friends. This range is meant to be

very wearable clothing and the video is supposed to showcase the

overall vibe and style of the collection and to showcase the brand and

lifestyle we associate with the Fall. The details of those pieces is something that can be seen in a retail store that carries Jiberish or online through the photos we take showing the pieces. Not everyone gets it, and truthfully, not everyone is supposed to. It is a branding video that

conveys a particular emotion and swag that we feel Mike Clarke captured

incredibly well. The people at Vimeo really liked as well which is why they put

it on their front page as a featured video. The response we have gotten from it has been

better than we could have ever imagined. Emails have been pouring in from all over asking about our brand. Additionally there is no snow

in September and as someone stated, 5 panels and coaches jackets are not

ideal for skiing or snowboarding videos anyways. We do produce edits in the winter

months that have skiing and snowboarding in them and we will continue to

with our Winter range which is more traditional hoodies, crewnecks, and

jackets. We show skating in the Summer and Fall because that is also a part of our life and our crew. But you can expect a number of bangers this Winter as we already have a shooting schedule (weather dependent) in place.

Anyways, I figured it might help if we touched on a few of these questions so you can better understand our intentions. You may disagree with our choices and that is fine. This is definitely not the first time and definitely will not be the last. And we are cool with that. We just are thankful that there is enough interest to spark conversation and opinion.

Thanks to everyone for their support and passion. It is what drives us.

-Pete
