Official Jiberish August Back To School Drop Thread

lol

They started out as taller, baggier "streetwear" for skiers. Now they have strayed from what they were.

the company is maturing with their original demographic, you cant wear 3xl hoodies your entire life and expect to be taken seriously. with the influx of taller and slimmer, ski specific clothing, they are moving away from being a brand that strictly focuses on skiing, to one that can function as a skiing brand as well as a brand that can be worn in a more fashion forward style and be recognized as a legitimate high quality cut and sew clothing company outside of the ski industry as well.

Yeah but we are the only reason they are still in business so they should work on providing for their main demographic skinny white suburban kids who wear tall clothing not worthless hipsters

They aren't obligated to cater to any demographic just because they did in the past. Looks like street-appropriate wear is doing pretty well for them. What you might not realize is that "we" skiers mature as well, and so does our taste in clothing. Many of the same skiers (myself included) who wore the tallest hoodies and tees before have moved on from that to a more fitting streetwear style.

Well sir, if so many more skiers were changing to that style then we wouldn't have a problem, but it's truthfully just a small amount of people.

i definitely realize the amount of people who like the new stuff, but if they want that type of clothing they should go to a urban outfitters and get it. jiberish decided to target baggy clothing and urban outfitters targeted the hipster clothing, it should stay that way don't ya think

But Jiberish' new stuff is hardly hipster... Okay some of the tees kinda look hipster, but otherwise most of their stuff just looks classier, and more like stuff fashionable people wear... They're breaking into the streetwear kinda market and I think it's dope. Personally I love the new stuff - now, instead of getting "what the fuck is up with your hoodie? Why is it so god damn long?", I get "Damn, sick hoodie! So awesome!"

I feel like that would just be terrible business. Other people gotta buy clothes to. Take for example my brother, hes 28 and went to the lohi store with me today. He's a skiier but not a park skiier, and he thought the chambreezy was awesome, and now im gonna get one for his bday

What they have done with the summer line is super awesome, its casual clothing with cool designs and ideas.
But if they do the same thing with the winter line I will be very disappointed. I hope they do something like the 09/10 winter line because that was my favorite.
My final opinion is that they should stick to tall and baggy clothing for the winter line and go with casual clothing for the summer line.

Keyword being "tall"... This past Winter's stuff not only got taller, but fatter as well... Making it feel like clothing for fat people, rather than clothing for kids who like tall clothing...

im fat and the hoodies this year were too wide (and the sleeves were too short) i had XXL (which is my size) and the winter drop fit was wack. Love my chambreezy or however you spell it, though.

hah the funny part is that i got soooo many people telling me how dope my old jiberish hoodies are, but the new ones are just so plain. i definitely dig the different materials they are divulging into though.

i can't describe how many people have told me how sick my: mfg, sleeper, level 1 old green crew, and mojave are.

i definitely agree that the summer line should stay like it is though (cause what else would it be lol)

I think you could be wrong with that. Just because the tall-clothes wearing skiers might be more vocal about their style doesn't mean that lots of people aren't changing. Hell, even Tom Wallisch is wearing button downs instead of tall tees these days. Friends are buying pea coats and classy jackets. These are the same people who wore the tallest hoodies and tees like 2 years ago.

But that said, Jiberish has enough of a following of people who like rad looking tall hoodies to ski in (including the athletes they sponsor). It wouldn't make sense to abandon that side of their company. They'll probably do that stuff in the winter drop (among other winter streetwear).

We banged out product photography today, for sure will be at LoHi tomorrow. Blake (ABSTRACTmall) is in China, but pushing to get these up soon for the Internet fam.

So guys, I got a question for ya. I got a tee shirt in my smash and grab crate and I can't figure out what it is. The logo is identical to the "grand cru" tee in the Summer breeze line, but the tag thing is on the bottom, and it isn't the same colour, it's a super nice green. I've gotten hella compliaments on it, and I'd just like to see the AbstractMall write up on it.
