Official Hunter/Windham/Belleayre Thread

Hunter on sunday was looking nice. Still no park other than a few rails.......

I hope the rain doesn't wash away to much of the base.

I went to belle yesterday and the groomers were so fun! I am hoping the r**n doesn't do too much damage as well. I was looking into the woods yesterday and just can't wait for enough snow to ski some trees.

Gonna check out the Jiminy Peak (as it looks well covered by the snow) this friday and plannin either Belle or Hunter on sat/sun. Fingers crossed for snow this weekend!

Happy upcoming New Year!

Hunter was ehh yesterday. A little bit of a crowd, and the wind was whipping. It had blown almost anything soft away.

I am usually not picky but between being older and how cold it has been I really want some fresh snow to shred. Maybe belle this weekend but i'll probably wait until after MLK

Skied hunter today. They got a few inches and overall the conditions were pretty nice. The park was pretty nice as well. Unfortunately, they had the bottom rail garden "closed to the public" for most of the day, but it was clutch when they finally opened it.

Plattekill was real nice yesterday. They got quite a bit of snow on friday, so I was skiing trees all day.

Hit Bellearye this afternoon and hands down the best conditions I've ever personally skiied. The glades were so fun with fresh spots obviously on every run. It was absolutely puking all day!

belle was the tits yesterday for sure! freshies up until last run. I am very grateful my job is lenient on taking off for POW days! A few small storms coming our way and a potential major storm this sunday into monday again!!

Any possible totals coming out yet?

Anyone hit Highmount yet?!? I'm DYING to get down to the catskills but my shin needs to heal up first.

1-4in for clipper wed night into thurs and this weekend storm has potential to be bigger. One of those storms that is just a matter of how far off the coast it hits. The bigger story is how cold it is going to be this weekend.

I didn't hit up Highmount but hit plenty of glades before the last 2 storms even hit.

So.Much.Pow.

So jealous!

i'm considering belle on sunday but with the highs in the single digits and the wind gusting up to 35mph might change my mind. I will judge that morning most likely

thats why I opted for plattekill bc the lifts are pretty shielded over there when it comes to the wind

hmm I may consider that option as well! I haven't hit plattekill yet. I just really want to shred and working m-f isn't helping. If anything I will def be at belleayre next weekend since we're expecting more snow midweek

Holy shit Plattekill was fucking amazing sunday. We stayed in the trees all day and it was ridiculous. I have never skied that much powder in my life.

dude i love belleayre, i do but get your ass to plattekill. it's ridic and no one is/was in the trees at all. so much powder to be had!

For all you hunter-goers, do you know where K-27 meets from upper to lower? and if you ski past lower k-27 there is an entrance to the woods, you will see people ski that way sometimes. If you follow the little path you come to an open spot in the woods. Now, I haven't been there recently, but after all the snow I was wondering if anyones tried this spot yet. Last winter there wasnt really enough to ski it, but its great for some pow lines.

I've circled the area I'm talking about... and if anyone is there this week, definitely take some videos, should be rad. I'll be there next weekend for sure, woulda gone today but woke up feeling really sick haha.

We went snowshoeing and holy fuck there is still so much POW in the woods. Still so dry. Best conditions I have ever seen. This would be the most TITS year for touring skis. Oh well.. Sucks I dont have a grand laying around

I believe there are called the milky glades??? I was in them about two weeks ago, and they were sooooo nice.

Yeah, those are marked glades, but if you go further right, there are unmarked glades, or an area, rather. I am heading up this weekend so keep a look out for a guy in an orange/beige armada jacket and k2 recoils haha. If anyones interested I'll show you the spot, if not I'll just take some photos and post them here!

haha I have an orange armada jacket and recoils too.. I won't be at hunter though we may go snowshoeing agian instead. Or maybe belle because I only gotta go once to get a free lift ticket thru the frequent skier card. I will be at hunter for those late season days though when it is heavily discounted and Belle closed
