I fucking stoked. Been waiting since 2007 for another decent Halo game and this one looks incredible.

YESS. Been playing halo 3 for agggeezzzz. Someone want to play some custom games at guardian, mlg mode? (Spawns, weapons, radar stuff)
 
I was convinced after Bungie sold off the Halo franchise that 4 was going to blow nut sacks, but Im glad to see that they took their time and are making it right. Does anyone know if this picks up where master chief was abandoned at the end of Halo 3 (when you beat it on legendary and it shows the cut scene of him floating to a planet)?
 
Looks kickass. Now, I'm not a big fan of Halo (please don't crucify me). The first game i got was reach, it was pretty good. I play it with friends every so often but it was only ok. This will defintely steal a few months from my life.
 
yes. cortana wakes you up with a human ship (Infinity) falling towards the forerunner planet your on ( called requiem). and as far as i recall they used the same voice actor...
 
you should play halo 3. a lot of fun, but much more strategic than reach. reach was more run and gun, halo 3 has much more factors (map control, power weapons, etc.)
 
Dual wielding needlers all day like a boss.

Favorite part from probably any game though is from 2 when Chief says "Im giving the covenant back there bomb". I almost shit myself every time I hear him say that.

 
Hahaha yess, needlers needed to be nerfed so badly. Loved them tho, my friend was A LOT better then me (srs gamer) and I would just run backwards away from him unloading loads of needles at his general direction
 
This. Halo was really good for its time but I feel like its over. Im not sure if I will get this game it looks decent enough though it just feels outdated compared to whats coming out now.
 
I do believe most of the Bungie staff went to whatever company it is now. So it is pretty much the same people that made halo1,2,3 that are making 4. Probably the last xbox game I will be buying. I really havnt played console games in forever.
 
Where did you pre-order it from? I can't decide between best buy, game stop, and amazon. Amazon burned me with Gears of War 3 cause it shipped like 3 days late, which is deal breaker cause im raging halo 4 the night it comes out.
 
It will never be beat. Another thing it had to its advantage was that it was at the beginning of the whole online console gaming era.
 
Coming from someone who's a big halo fan, this looks disappointing. I understand what they're trying to do with the "modernization of gameplay", I guess you could call it, but it just looks so stupid and too different from the simplicity of halo 1-2--which is what ironically made those games fun to me.

With that said, I'll avoid buying.
 
beyond excited for the H4 release. F/R me to run MLG or any game type in H4 or reach. I'm a former Halo 2/3 semi professional.

Kinda wish they froze the halo franchise after Reach was made. Isn't some other company making Halo 4 and not Bungie? It just doesn't seem right to me. I'll be buying it regardless, but I really hope they keep the game much less complicated. Halo CE, 2 and 3 had, IMO, the best multiplayer maps, ranking systems and simplicity.

I spent a truly disgusting amount of time on xbox live playing all the halos. I just hope for the love of God that they don't screw this one up.

And just because I feel like it, I'll list the halos from my most to least favorite(1 being most):

1. Halo 2

2. Halo 3

3. Halo CE(1)

4. Halo 3:ODST

5. Halo: Reach

Halo Wars gets an honorable mention because its actually pretty fun and technically part of the Halo franchise.
 
I think they screwed up on Reach. Campaign was fun, multiplayer was sortof... overkill. (sortof pun intended)

Also a bunch of people jumped off of bungie and are producing halo 4 noow...

So my point is that i think halo 4 is going to be sick cause of that. Bungie developers are also working on it.

Halo is sick.

Halo 3 is the best.
 
Exactly. Multiplayer is still fun but the power ups are what I hate the most. They take away from what halo did so well. I loved the earlier halos because the playing fields were much more even. The power ups added a new pinch point in the game that just doesn't sit well with the way I think halo should be played.

I could go on and on about halo but I should probably work on this essay instead of uselessly ranting.
 
How did you put reach at the very bottom of the list ......IMO reach for me would either be 1st or 2nd. The new forge in reach was amazing and easily occupied most of my time playing the game.

Halo Wars was also one of my favorites :)
 
I put it there because its multiplayer deviated the most from all the other ones. No doubt the forge in reach is better than ever, but forge isn't a key component in making a good Halo game for me.
 
As said many times before, nothing will beat halo 2 or 3. Reach is at the bottom of my list because they tried to make the game playable for a wider range of audience. Halo 2 and 3 were the best games because it was so simple. Everyone started off the same and it was based on natural skill (not only aiming). 2 and 3 required team work, for example the more dominant team would use map control, weapon respawns, and player respawns to their advantage. To put it simply, 2 and 3 were more competitive! Reach sucks because they made it more like COD and the game play aided all the stupid little kids who sucked. It was too easy to get an Onyx in Arena.

I remember the days where I put get so pissed off if I lost a game in the mid 40's range trying to get that 50. Every game mattered. In Reach, If I lose a ranked arena game I dont care as much.
 
i bet it will be sick. hopefully a nice combination of 3 and reach.. 3 was my favorite, and i liked reach a lot. it was cool how it took longer to kill people but im ready for a return to how it was before
