I just got grounded for a long while, so I ask of all of you (still in parents house) NS'ers, what do you guys do to kill the time when trapped in the confines of your home?
 
haha grounded, my parents went to my cabin for new years and i stayed home, mom asked me not to have more than a few people over, soooo i tell a few of my friends to roll over they tell theirs long story short theres like 40 people at my house for new years haha, and my parents could tell when they came back, then to my mothers dismay she realized she couldn't do anything about it because i was moving back to school the next day hahahah i am invincible
 
Well I'm 16 to clear things up, and apparently I get grounded. It's more of a, "We hate you and your grades suck, so until shit gets better your not skiing/doing anything.
 
as much as it sucks being grounded and whatnot your parents are really only looking out for your best interest. even if you dont want to hear that, its true. i thought i freakin knew everything when i was younger and because of that i was grounded all of the time. just respect your parents and work your ass off at school so you can ski. simple as that. good luck man.

i am a product of many many many teenage groundings, im 19 now but still doing a lot of the shit i got grounded for (drinking/smoking), i guess ya it just makes you more responsible
 
No I get why my parents are grounding me, it just sucks having to deal with it. I'm just looking for something else to do while my skiing career is on hold.
 
grounding doesn't seem to work for me. i just end up acting like a 2 year old and acting even worse, doing worse in school to show them a lesson. yes it is retarded, but it works...
 
im in the same boat man...17yrs old and i feel being grounded is pretty much the most bullshit punishment of them all. I even tried to bribe my stepdad with $200...didnt work.

i spent half of christmis break at home doing absolutly nothing. Its only my second time in my life ive been grounded and the first time i was 12 and set the drive way on fire. I managed to get caught drinking by being lazy and taking some of my parents gin instead of dishing out 20 or so for a fifth. As they were lecturing me about that my little sister found my pipe and brought that up to their attention at the same time. i have exactly one week left until i can do shit again, but i imagine they wont be near as lienant concerning my curfew and such. Plus i am now subject to random drug tests which presents a problem for someone who smokes everyday for the past 8-9 months. Ive spent most of my time playing video games and watching TV.

it sucks.
 
Word man. I got caught drinking cause the parents of the new years party called mine (bitch ratted me out) so I'm just fucked for a while.
 
I'm glad my parents don't believe in grounding. I would say be as respectful as you can to your parents and go skiing around your house. If they won't let you do that explain that keeping you inside will depress you, make you angry, make you do worse in school because you have nothing to look forward to, and make you hate them.
 
Grounding sucks. For me, taking away my skiing does not make me want to do better AT ALL. It just takes away that one thing that I can like hold onto during the week and look forward to on the weekends. It motivates me to do well in school. Without skiing to look forward to, I get depressed and I don't feel motivated at all.

Really, your parents are trying to get you to do well, but they aren't doing it the right way. I find that the rewards system works better.

6 days with no phone

3 weeks with no skiing or friends

and all are indefinate

and i got in trouble AGAIN over some stupid thing (i threw something out that i guess i wasnt supposed to, and had to dig through the trash (not recycleing, TRASH like with old food and stuff) to find a little piece of ripped, crumpled paper that wasnt there, because the trash company came yesterday

haha yeah my parents are softies too. I don't usually get into trouble though so its not often i have to prove my authority
 
shit dis be waaaaaayy back but when my dad tryed to mess wid me I broke his leg. never got any of that bullshit again
 
well i got grounded once in grade 8 for being caught drinking, it was gay, i spent a few weeks just going straight home everyday after school and no friends and all that shit, its gay
 
i used to get grounded alot but now that ive been paying for my own stuff its different my parents expected me to get 65 in all my subjects or else i couldn't ski

i didn't get 65 in all my subject so my mom says your grounded untill your next report card

i said no im not

she looked at me with the weirdest ive ever seen then said what

i said no im not i paid for all my skis stuff too bad for you ( and i meen everything pass outerwear misilanious items absolutly everything)

then she said ill take away your skis

i said ill take all the lug nuts of the wheels of your car if i find my skis gone

then i walked out of the room

my ski stuff never got touched all that happened was they didn't let me watch tv or go on the computer

so then i built a rail in my front yard and skied in there faces all day for a couple of weeks

so if you pay for your own stuff youre good if not well youre fucked
 
woah irony....i got grounded yesterday i guess. car only for work and school, no computer (yeah right) no company here for a week. i had a party, huge...on new years and they found some shit(puke next to the hot tub, some beer cans i guess) and i cut my losses and said me and three of my friends had some beers, better than getting caught for the entire party. so yeah grounded for a week, im just gonna act pissed off at my parents and sit in my room and crochet shit for the next week and probably act resentful as much as possible because i could have "gone to a bigger party and not gotten in trouble at all" oh well.
 
I was grounded one time only. I snuck out of the house at night and drove to tuckerman's ravine, ditched school and went skiing, I was never grounded again.
 
haha when i get grounded they cant take away skiing bcuz im an instructor and i dont get alot of lessons so i get to ski when im there
