Official DMB Summer Tour Thread

Well, tomorrow's day one. I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight. Anticipation is killing me.

I'm really hoping for Shotgun.

That will be a given. It's hard to believe the last time I saw them was at Times Union Center on their last fall tour before taking the break. That's like a year and a half or some shit. They played I'll back you up and back then I barely even knew the song existed.

I hate the times union center. Granted, the only shows i've seen there were like american idol or some crap, but in my mind its a black hole where talent gets sucked in and shat out.

Also is it too late to buy tix online? a visit to livenation says so but idk

Night one was an amazing setlist.

-Proudest Monkey opener

-10 min. Tim solo was out of this world

-25 min. Lie in our Graves jam with Boyd going insane

-4 song encore including #40, a completely new song, Halloween, and Tripping Billies

It had to be one of the best #40s I've ever heard.

Can't wait for tonight.

And Minarets. Ive been chasing that crap for a while, it better hang around for 2 more weeks till my first shows.

Shame the #40 was only a partial.

yeah minarets was great and he at least did more than one verse for #40.

Setlist for Saturday:

OVERALL HIGHLIGHTS:

-Minarets

-#40

-Halloween

-The Stone

-36>everyday>36

Man I forgot about this thread.

Deer Creek was unreal. First night started slow but Typical Situation liberation was insane, and an unreal version for having not been played in so long. Midset watchtower with Gary Clark Jr. was rad. Everybody Wake Up no longer sucks, and I FINALLY got So Right, which Ive been chasing for a while. Cool hearing the new songs as well. Solid show, and a great n1.

N2 was probably the best show Ive been too. I am not a Big Whiskey hater, so Seven opener was sick, and I always love Why I Am

Then came "the run"

You Never Know - Top 5 song for me, and easily the best post-2000 song the band has produced that Ive heard.

Seek Up - When Isnt seek up epic?

Song That Jane Likes - No freakin way?!?! This run is getting more amazing by the minute. Great hearing Jane, never heard that one before either.

PIG!!!! - Dave acknowledge some folks with pig puppets in the pit n1, and I thought we had a shot, but not a huge one. Weird intro, Carter started Spaceman so it started out slow and gradually sped up but still a great version.

People will hate on Spaceman » Cornbread as the dud of the show but whatever. Spacemans not bad, and Cornbread, whatever it lacks lyrically, brings the energy. The lawn went nuts, people were going crazy. I resolve to no longer get bummed when I see Cornbread on sets of shows Im not at, and just remember it gets the crowd hyped.

Nancies is always sick, and during it I looked at a friend and was like "It would be cool if they went into Warehouse like they used to." Sure enough, stop time intro starts, gotta love the woo's.

Fool To Think was so unexpected I didnt even recognize it at first, awesome new jam at the end as well.

Two Step was epic, as every Two Step is. Have you ever been to a show and not left saying "that was the best Two Step ever". Exactly.

Halloween » Billies was the expected encore, but that didnt make it any less epic. Halloween is awesome, even if its lost its rarity factor a bit. So awesome to hear this tune and appreciate it more, since I certainly didnt "get it" when I heard it at my second show.

And Billies is just an awesome way to wrap up the show.

Only thing that could have made n2 more epic would have been the written encore, Minarets and then HallowBillies, but hey, whatever.

Cant wait for Alpine next weekend.

Abortionator, go see them this summer/fall.

The band is sounding tighter than it has in a decade, Lillywhite rejuvenated them in the off-season making the new album, and the setlists are looking more varied than in a long time. I cant remember the last tour with this many different songs this far in (yes I know you are used to Phish, who is the king of unpredictable setlists but hey, whatcha gonna do).

I'm seriously, unbelievably jealous. It had been over 1000 days since the last Typical Situation. We were all hoping for it at SPAC on Friday because it was exactly 1000 I think.

I wanted Seek Up and Pig so bad too, not as much as Shotgun though.

Im not camping I have friends who live close by so we just use their property. I might be down to meet up Saturday, Friday Im pretty much gonna get there and head in, Im not leaving Chicago till later.

ahh shit son, so stoked to fuck with camping out there, apparently its almost as sick as the concert itself. cant waitt

Alpine was easily the best 2 shows of the tour. Probably the best 2 shows of the last 5-8 years. Unreal.

Played last night at the CMAC in canandaigua, NY. It wasn't DMB but it was Dave and Tim, which personally I like better. Three encores...such a good concert

Never saw this thread but i was at Dave in Hartford both nights and ended up getting into the pit both nights (bought lawn tickets but Know a manager). By far the best show I'd seen (only went to Dave '10 in Hartford).

I also got one of Carters drum sticks!!
