Pre Warning. If you are in here to make comments about bros, cargo shorts, natty ice, or any of the other stereotypes this band has, please kindly leave. Cool you dont like the music. Then just let other people like it, and keep your opinion to yourself.

Now onto the good part.

What stops are people doing?

Im doing Alpine x2 and Deer Creek x2. Possibly Chicago if they add something in August/September.

First 3 shows have been iffy setlists, but I'm hoping they get better as of Hartford this weekend. BOWA and Write A Song got soundchecked tonight, so at least it sounds like more tour debuts on the way.

tomorrow night in Charlotte, hoping to hear some of the new tunes, which btw if you havent heard gaucho yet you should listen to it

^mercy sounds beautiful too, anyone see that on Fallon?

I'll be at both nights for SPAC, but hoping to go to some others.

First time in 8 years I won't be seeing Dave at SPAC...such a great venue and he always play an amazing show there

I'll never forget 2007 when they played ABI > stefan solo > all along the watchtower for the encore...close to the best 20 minutes of my life

And in 2009 they played #40 > teased halloween > all along the watchtower > halloween - that shows was the best concert I've ever seen

I'm seeing them play both nights at Hartford this weekend..hoping it comes close to the SPAC shows but I know nothing can replace SPAC

I've been going to SPAC since 01 since I'm from Saratoga but I've also seen 6 shows in Hartford. I'll say this: the tailgating and setlist isnt usually as good. One thing I really like about Harford though is that if you're on the lawn, you have more space. in 2010 at SPAC, I did one night inside and one lawn and it just seems like over the years theyve started selling more and more lawn tickets. I dont like being completely ass to face and trying to enjoy the show and when I was in high school (circa 04,05,06) I dont remember it being so insanely crowded. I've never not had a good time in Hartford though, but I doubt you'll see your best show there.

As for me this year, I'm flying home for SPAC and doing both nights inside. Cannot wait.

hahaha for some reason you're the LAST NS'er i'd expect to like DMB, no offense.

and i'm getting dat two day Gorge pass fa sho.

Yeah inside is definitely the way to do it but its usually a pain in the ass to coordinate if your going with a decently large group

SPAC is definitely one of hte bands favorite venues..ive seen them a few other places and its never quite the same, the atmosphere is just unreal at SPAC...thats awesome your flying home for both nights inside

haha none taken...I was crazy into the band a few years ago like every studio album, all the live albums, way way too many downloads from dreamingtree, and almost every live trax..but then my computer crashed and I only had about 20% of the songs backedup and it was way too much work to build the collection again

Would love to see a show at the gorge, that and red rocks are the two venues I need to see the band play in before they I die

spac 09 was legendary. Epic show. So bummed I dont live on the east coast for things like that.

Hartford gets good sets these days. 2010s tour openers were great.

I actually short changed them on that encore..they have it listed on dmbalmanac as this:

#40 (partial)

Halloween (tease)

Granny >>

Water into wine (tease) >>

Stefan solo >>

All along the watchtower >>

Halloween

They also played some pretty rare songs like Lie in our graves, typical situation, the stone, song that jane likes ....such a crazy show

I'm glad to hear the Hartford sets are solid lately..I hope the hartford lawn is good

Yeah, usually everyone i know from home will head over to the state park even if they dont have tickets to tailgate. Most of my friends will get lawn seats. sometimes if me, my girlfriend, my brother, and his fiancee have inside, we'll go back out with like two more tix to grab two friends from the lawn if it isnt too crowded inside. But yeah, I'm generally used to splitting with some of my friends when the show starts.

Were you there in 06 when he opened night 1 with Pig? So amazing.

hell yeah that was an awesome weekend. I think that was the same night that vusi mala-somethin came out and did vocals on everyday which made the Best of What's Around CD...that was an unreal version of the song

You can't really hear vusi that well on this recording but what an amazing performance..theres a few better recordings on youtube of other venues

I'm going to see DMB for my first time when they come to Michigan.

I heard his sets are crazy long and sound incredible when live. Needless to say that I'm stoked.

I'm the only person in my family who isn't a fan. But Carter is amazing and Dave is too but it's just not my thing. But my sister is going to both Connecticut shows, and my parents are going to Chula Vista and Irvine. Or something like that. I know they're going to two in California.
You guys have fun smoke some lambs bread and enjoy the musical stylings.

have you ever been to a show? I used to be the only member of my family who didnt get down to dmb until my older brother took me to a live show. four years later I've been to 14 shows and they are EASILY my favorite band.. and my suggestion to anyone who either doesn't like dave or isn't sure how they feel about them yet is go to a live show! listening to studio versions on a cd does not do the music and band justice. this thread kicks ass im so excited for scranton on monday!!!

they still fucking jam, but i keep listening to shows from 1993-1998 and want them to bring back that raw, clean sound that made DMB so awesome in the first place.

Everything from 1995 red rocks is a great example.

wish I was doing Alpine x2 and River's Edge (St. Paul) x2

but I'm gone both weekends :(

last night in charlotte was awesome!!! great weather, good beer, good music, couldnt have asked for a better night. Plus i heard dancing nancies for the first time live and Boyd went a different direction with his solos that was absolutely phenomenal, my legs are jello from dancing my ass off

cant stop was actually pretty good, they jammed it out really well. lol dave put on sunglasses for it for some reason lol

holy crap this tour is still going every year?

I think my first time at the DMB summer tour was .....yup, 13 years ago.

Nothing left to do but count the painful yes joyous hours until it happens. The playlist is on, the blunts are rolled. Now we wait. fuck it gets me shaking just thinking about it.

you guys be careful trying to get in your drugs/alcohol to SPAC. place is on fuckin lockdown/ 5-0 errrwhere

I've done it several times before and it's very very easy. And as an extra precaution I only bring black and mild blunts, which I make to look exactly like the original cigar, put back in the plastic so that it shows through the hole in the box that way. It looks exactly like an unopened box of blacks....except they're blunts.

haha i was considering sneaking in from the back fence( the 10ft chain link one), but the more I think about it the more i realize its a terrible idea. Better to just pay the 60$ and leave booze outside

Idk where you guys are coming from but im from Saratoga and I had a buddy that works at a food booth inside and they don't get searched when they go in to work so we had him sneak in 3 handles of vodka/rum in his backpack and just went in and grabbed it from him after we got in and sold it inside. I would assume you could just drop a bottle over a fence somewhere (especially if you filled up a water bottle) and just go grab it after you get in and if anyone says anything to you about sneaking in or what youre doing just show them your ticket.

goin to the friday night spac show, I see bunch of people here are from the saratoga area, if anyone has a reasonably priced saturday night ticket I would be stoked!!

Hell yeah. Im coming from burnt hills, too bad all my friends are shit heads and dont want to go because they're saving money for drake... Cmon guys

Zimmerman you see last nights set, or tonights so far?

Mansfield gettin rocked.

SPAC is gonna have epic sets this weekend.

Would go to the SPAC one if I had the money. I don't really like his music. But I would go cause, well, ya know.

mansfield and hartford, the only 2 night shows so far, have been getting killer sets...makes me so stoked for camden n2
