Hey there, I haven't posted in a long time, but I am a long time member of this site (member number 2783 what what!) Pretty much grew up on it. I am now also an industrial designer, graduated from Ohio state in 09, moved to SLC in 2010, and have been working professionally for the last 4 years. Last year I moved into a house with a dedicated shop space and started investing in tools. I have always been making stuff, but I've always been trapped in temporary rentals and basements. Having a real space is pretty awesome.

Anyway, I've been holding out on posting anything here yet, but as things are developing I think now is a good time to get an official NS thread started.

Pics coming in next post...

Longboards:

Been building all my own boards since I was 15, but they have mostly been one offs for myself and a few close friends. With real shop space, I've been able to turn up the speed and have been cranking these out left and right.

This shape is called the Khilla, and I've been refining it over the last few seasons. Its very muh a jack of all trades shape, but surfy slides and city riding are its true home.

The very first proto, quick and dirty, still in one piece after doing everything I could to try and break it over 3 years

I spent too much money and built myself a carbon one with titanium kingpins, whole thing is under 7 lbs set up and gripped

These three are the most recent, the green one just got shipped off to its new home, but the other two are still waiting to make someone's summer awesome!

Proto drop through, we are going to be building this size, as well (31" wheelbase) and a slightly larger one. the wheel wells look funky cause i just chopped it out of an old khilla and they cut in too deep from that board

SKIS

Longboards are fun, but I've always wanted to build skis.

First pair:

Core was profiled a little weird, had some minor shifting issues, otherwise pretty good

Second pair was sooo much more legit, one of the most fun skis i've ridden. same traditrional construction but with carbon and kevlar strategically placed throughout the laminate.

These two pairs were built pretty traditionally, but

I've got three more prototype skis on the way, and they are built quite uniquely. If everything works out as intended, it should result in delam-proof, rail-proof construction. More on that at a later time!

Thanks! glad you guys dig um! if anyone has comments, criticisms, suggestions, etc, please feel free to post them, i'd love to hear.

Blank decks with the simple logo tag are $200, and they can be done in any colors you want. Custom boards and full graphics are typically $250. carbon boards are currently on a per order basis.

those are sick longboards! definitely would consider one for my next longboard. and those skis look really nice too. congrats on building your on stuff, wish i could do that. one of those pics looks like an instagram pic. if it is whats your username? i would love to follow you.

Thanks! When I started building boards I was always thinking it would be a good way to learn how to build skis. I've got three more skis about 1/2 done now. The profits from the longboards are being applied to prototyping skis and getting better and faster tooling, so if I can sell some longboards this summer, you will definitely be seeing some more skis from me.

ahh this is sweet! nice work chris!

I'd buy one if i didn't live in europe, i've always found that shape looking excellent !

Time for another update:
