Official Crowbar Part Trading Thread

im sorry but that is a really dumb post

i have both, they are about 5% in light transmission difference, practically the same lens.. i just happen to use the HI pers for brighter days because it looks cooler IMO especially when i had a purple frame

If you have them that sounds trustworthy. However, I have the pinks, and they are murder to my eyes on bright days. I tried on the HI persimmon in bright sunlight, and the orange tint makes it seem a bit darker, at least to me. So the same light reaches your eye, but with the HI persimmon it seemed less harsh.

Also, I've gotta claim that I just picked up a new emerald irid lens, and it seems like an AMAZING lens. Dark enough but not too dark, super clear, not too flashy on the outside but nicer looking (in my opinion) than blue irid.

really dumb post? this coming from the guy that states, "i just happen to use the HI pers for brighter days because it looks cooler" It looks cooler huh? how does it work?

Might want to recheck what is dumb (start with your post), many personal experiences on this site have stated pink iridium is not favored for bright days, I've had both, and pink is well.... just pink. It's range blows (Hi persimmon is flat to LOW LIGHT, and Pink is Flat to MEDIUM LIGHT). But as i stated (and was the sole purpose in my post) HI persimmon has a wider range of use..... making it my personal ALL AROUND LENS... in my own experience and seemingly others, especially over pink iridium. BTW both utilize an Iridium coating but HI persimmon uses blue light (softens light) to beat dow the glare as opposed to Pink lacking that and allow glare to appear and intensify causing the headache that above NS member is experiencing.

So bust out your calculator and tell me that the HI persimmon lets in more light than the Pink, but spitting out numbers and variables does not mean anything compared to the actual experience. Another point (but subjective) is when you see pros wearing crowbars in videos I have seen so many ppl use the HI persimmon, and to be honest (i'm sure there are some) i cant say i've ever seen anyone use pink iridium. Maybe they just use HI persimmon bc it looks cooler.

i cant tell a differnce at all in terms of harshness of the light, the colors are slightly different due to the color of the lens

but here are the statistics.. the proven facts

hi persimmon lens

protection index is: 1

light transmission: 63

pink iridium

protection index is: 1

light transmission: 57

so obviously pink lets in less light

true.

other than the part about pink iridium not being used by pros. ive seen a shitload of pros use them.

i still stand by my blue iridium i love it

so WOW! read my post a little closer next time. I have already stated that, and also stated that consensus on the users of this site have popularly voted pink iridium as garbage in the bright days, except for the few like yourself. I also stated that the HI persimmon's blue filter cuts the glare down on the extra light that it does allow in, which is why they would perform better in bright days. Again, who's got the dumb post?

so WOW! i said that i use a HI pers on bright days.. read my original post (there is not much of a difference in my opinion) so again whose got the dump post saying that i dont read?

I HAVE A RED FRAME, ONE PURPLE OUTRIGG, ONE BLACK OUTRIGG, AND CARBONATED STRAP FOR TRADE

ummmm I'm saying you don't read, and your posts are ridiculous.

You use a "HI pers" on bright days...... cuz they look cooler, not because they perform better. You think that's a legitimate answer after stating my post was dumb? (When in fact I'm right, yes, I am claiming it all the way) Also, there is a difference between the 2, and i've stated them twice, so i will not reiterate them for you. And i will let you have the last word cuz after this post i'm done talking about this in here, this is a trading thread, so my apologies for writing this last comment that you are currently reading everyone

referring to reading my post correctly:
"So bust out your calculator and tell me that the HI persimmon lets in more light than the Pink, but spitting out numbers and variables does not mean anything compared to the actual experience."

I stated this right before you decided to put up all your stats that I had already put up. READ!

and lastly......
"so again whose got the dump post saying that i dont read?"

I mean I have some typos, but c'mon...... if you want to try and insult my intelligence at least spell dumb correctly.

okay i will be mature here in admitting that i hadnt fully read your post, but you are basing your judgment of the lens on opinion, and in my opinion pink iridium work just as well.. i guess we were both being ignorant in ignoring that factor, that its all preference and opinion

GIVE ME ALL YOUR WHITE OUTRIGGERS WILL PAY CASH.

I HAVE A RED FRAME, ONE PURPLE OUTRIGG, ONE BLACK OUTRIGG, AND CARBONATED STRAP FOR TRADE

I have two pairs of Oakley A frames, One pair of matte white a frames with a Pink Iridium lens and a pair of White Text a frames with a high-intensity yellow lens. they are both slightly used, the matte white has been used 6 times but is in great condition. the only thing that is wrong with them is that on the band my gloves stuck to them once and there is a little snag in the band but its minor. the Text with the High-intensity is a great frame, In almost perfect condition but the lens in this pair has film on them so it can make it difficult to see if it is really socked in on the mountain. If you had a new lens they would look brand new. You can see the film in the picture below. I am looking for anyone who wants to buy either one of these, you make the offer or Ill trade both pairs for a pair of crowbars in any color other than white or black! let me know

I also wanted to add that if you contact oakley, you could probably get them to replace the lens, I did that with a pair of my crowbars and they just charged me $30 for a brand new lens. But the frame is in such good shape that they look brand new, its just the lens that is screwed up.

Ill trade you for a brand new black frame, the new black and gray strap with multiple o's all over it and H I yellow lens. so basically just the strap but i want to get rid of them as a whole also.

that strap is called a carbonated strap fyi.. and that post is to old to be taken into account still, just PM them
